  1. Two down and well behind the rate. One of the great one-day cock-ups of our time.
  2. Obviously nothing in the track for our spinners and they leaked runs regularily. Currie isn't an economical bowler and apparently we dropped the odd catch or two. We may get the 271 needed but really with them at 89/6 we shouldn't have to. Crane and Currie troubled me, I wasn't wrong.
  3. Hope we haven't thrown this away by poor bowling choices.
  4. But the spinners and Currie seem to have let them back into the game a bit. Still shouldn't be overly difficult though.
  5. Really ? The other 22 can't be much cop then.
  6. Great start, Leics 4 down with only 20 on the board. 3 wickets for Barker and 1 for Holland (but it was Ackermann so it must count double right!) Perhaps batting first wasn't a great choice by Leicester. But then again they're a D2 outfit and we're playing some of our D1 bowlers now.
  7. Leics chose to bat first. We lost the toss then. Strange line-up. Currie in, Albert out. Fuller and Wheal in the 16 named yesterday but not in the XI. Weatherly in though. We'll have to see how we get on but Currie troubles me, he's sometimes a bit expensive if an opposition batter gets after him. Same as Crane.
  8. Everybody else though. But no Vince. Actual side will probably be about the same as the semi though. Unless Fuller replaces Barker for some reason or other. Only other option I could see is Donald behind the stumps, Brown out Fuller in. We'll find out soon enough.
  9. I was able to watch the game yesterday evening, Bein show one or two Championship games a week, those which are supposed to be the highlight games. As I've not really followed our summer transfer window I asked myself, do we actually have any experienced central defenders now? I know Bednarek is injured but what happened to Stephens ? Taking all these starlets from City just helps them out, us not so much. I mean Taylor Harwood-Bellis , what's that about then, he was utterly useless. Then later in the game we started taking off defensive players like Downes (who I know absolutely nothing about by the way) and replacing them with out and out forward players. We already had too many offensive players on the pitch to start with so that really wasn't an option. Sully ? Same as at Rennes, all huff and no end product. They bought Blas and Le Fee with the transfer fee, far better players. Why did we make Adam Armstrong captain then, he's a bit part no-hoper at the best of time, but perhaps he was just filling in yesterday. Can't really say much about Martin, know nothing about him, but the set up last night was obviously wrong.
  10. A comedy of errors.
  11. Difficult to predict. I'd say Vince in, Albert out.
  12. Batting pretty well so far today, Gubbins approaching 100, Vince on 59. We'll be declaring soon I guess. Set them about 450 from 130 overs or so.
  13. Not too bad today after we chose to bat first. Would be better if we could eliminate the aimless wafting outside off stump. Ducks for Middleton and Prest though.
  14. Dawson in the side, all the very young players out of it. Obviously taking this seriously then. Expect to see Vince in the XI if we make the final.
  15. Dawson is in the group for today's game. Vince perhaps will be added if we make the final.
  16. I thought Turner was injured anyway, not sure that Ellis plays anything other than T20 for the Hawks. Crane plays already in the ODC. Dawson and Howell would be handy but I think we may leave it as it is.
  17. You'd think so but no, basic arithmetic says otherwise. It's an average over the 8 games so any game average less than you already had will reduce the total average. Look at it this way. For 7 something or others you have an average of 10, in the 8th something or other you only have an average of 5, so the new total average is 70+5/8 =9.375 so your average has gone down. Today's match was close so our relative run rate would have been much lower than the 1,1 or so that we had beforehand. I did a bit of approximative fag packet calculation and we'd have needed to knock off the 326 runs in about 37 overs, scoring rate a bit less than 9 an over. So a good T20 rate really.
  18. They batted well but I don't think we ever had much chance of overhauling Leicester's NRR. Not once Kent had made over 300 anyway. Probably needed to knock that off in about 25 overs or so. /
  19. Probably not worth worrying about. They've probably said on the commentary but as I've had to mute it I couldn't say. Won't be a lot anyway and we'll probably struggle to make their total with all of our overs.
  20. Got some wickets towards the end to keep their total down a bit, 326 is quite a big total to chase. Don't know the Newport ground really and the quality of the stream is pretty limited so can't say if there are short boundaries or not. Really a bit amateur the stream today, sometimes you're looking at the sky, sometimes a player's feet and for me the picture is about 2 seconds behind the commentary, so that you know what's happened before you see it.
  21. Looking fairly unlikely. Bowling looks fairly impotent, Crane, Organ, the two youngsters, Holland and Barker. Not getting hit for shedloads but with only 2 wickets down , Kent will as likely kick on and we'll be chasing 300+. No Gubbins or Weatherly today, iffy batting line up. Still we didn't need to win to be second so it's not any great problem. Live stream pretty awful, sound not sychchronised to image feed and too much background chatter. Still it's free and from an out-ground so what can you do.
  22. Well well, what an excellent game that was. Wicket probably less docile than it looked at first.
  23. The openers scored more than all the rest put together. Inexperienced bowling as well equals absolutely no chance of winning this one.
  24. Some of our bowling figures look a bit shaky though. I thought we had Turner available, didn't play though. Didn't see much of the game today.
  25. According to the gossip on the Equipe forum, Camille didn't fancy it, Konya apparently being a bit of an islamic place where she might have had to wear a headscarf when outdoors. Who knows whether that's right or not though.
