  1. I believe that the loans from the owner were turned into equity last year or the year before. Up until the end of the June 2011 financial year we'd run up about 35 million of debt to the owner including the intial purchase (or so I think anyway). We probably tacked on another 15 million or so for our Championship season so the first 3 years losses were about 50 million part or all of which seem to have been covered by the owner and then the Estate.
  2. It's not a surprise at all, even with League 1 and NPC expenditure on players we've been running at a loss for the last 3 seasons so where everybody thought we'd got the 30 million we've spent since last May from I just don't know. I don't think the PL give you money in advance so you've got to find it from somewhere and I don't doubt that the Swiss funds dried up ages ago. I don't even think Markus was all that rich, the Liebherr wealth which is always referred to means the other members of that illustrious family, didn't Markus give all his shares in the main Liebherr holdings away long long ago? I remember getting royally slagged off on here last year for suggesting that we were running up debts and would continue to do so, right again then ?
  3. Think Road Sea are still in business though, might have merged with another freight forwarder methinks, GJ Cooper perhaps. Quite a few of the lads who made the entire journey from Sunday League to Southern League with RS actually worked for them, they did start signing a few ex-pros towards the end though. Think Paul Bennett played for them at the end of his career.
  4. If you believe those stats to be correct Lallana's crossing is absolutely diabolical.
  5. Can't see why it's so important anyway, it's a training ground in the middle of nowhere. As long as it serves it's purpose I don't see that it really matters whether we have a new tea hut or not. As for the academy.... forget it
  6. Trouble is that they will both play every match for which they are fit much to the detriment of the defensive sector. We have 2 playmakers and are missing a water carrier.
  7. Isn't someone on this board part of that set up, probably explains a lot really. Then again may be it's someone's brother, can't remember the details.
  8. Boruc is a good keeper, well in theory anyway. Don't doubt that he'll play on Sunday myself.
  9. I played for Road Sea a couple of times, towards the start of their ascendancy, went up like a bonfire night rocket and just sort of fizzled out at the top. I'd moved to Brussels by then so I never did quite understand what happened. We were f*cking good though even in the infancy of the side when I was in it..
  10. Depends who's giving out the long balls as well. If you click on the link below and then passing and roll over LB you can see the completion rate and total number http://www.whoscored.com/Teams/18
  11. Well they won't get many win bonuses away from home that's for sure. If,as some maintain, the players pay structure is heavily biased towards results and league position I'd assume that they may not be too keen on losing and being in the bottom few.
  12. How many of those has he used up now then?
  13. I thought West Ham were a side who know how to get points from games that they should be able to get points from. As long as we beat Fulham we'll be able to compare ourselves to them although I'm sure that they'd not have lost to Wigan. Now if Lallana could have the impact that Vaz Te seems to be able to make then I'd call him a top player.
  14. But the OP has a point, foulwise Morgan is our hatchet man, think he's run up about 9 or 10 fouls in his 5 games this season, none of them particularly nasty no doubt but he puts himself about, lets the opposition know he's there and not a featherweight pansy. Davis must have committed just 2 or 3 fouls so far and I don't think JWP has any at all on the counter. The ability to foul well should not be underestimated, especially if you can do it with just 1 yellow in 5 games.
  15. We should be looking to at least match QPR's record last season although that might not be enough W10 (7H 3A) D7 (5H 2A) L21 (7H 14A)
  16. If that's correct I do wonder why we're wasting a reported 25K a week on Lee then, not very Cortesian at all, bet he hates wasting money on lost causes. Cork was demoted in the numbering system this summer, that usually means in our case that you're not starter material. We should cut that out by the way, no other club does it, players take whatever number they're given in the majority of cases.
  17. You know Adrian once upon a time there was the acronym EOE on every invoice and most other commercial documents. This should now be added to every tongue in cheek team suggestion, it means errors and omissions excepted.
  18. Beurkk Davis and JWP, shuddergiving, surely we have some other solution be it ever so unlikely. That pairing was the root of all our troubles against Everton, 2x 10 stone midgets. I'd play Guly there in preference to one of those 2 and that's a desperation measure. Surely we must have someone somewhere with a bit of physical presence to replace at least one of them. When are those 2 lads who've been in the England U19s back with us again ? One of them is a midfielder isn't he.
  19. I would have a field day against Seaborne, so would my Gran.
  20. Indeed injuries of all sorts are pretty common in football, they don't all happen during matches or training sessions. Which is why PL clubs have 25 man groups + young players I guess. What most of them don't have is 3 or 4 players who are theoretically part of the squad but will play absolutely no part in the club's PL campaign, like Seaborne,Dickson and Butterfield.
  21. We'll need to as well, if we lose this one I get the feeling that there will be changes, big changes during the IB.
  22. well if he's in the nick it would tend to suggest that it's not all that simple. Then again if you want to lie low you don't want to be a wandering round shopping centres in Bordeaux. You could hang about in my village for a decade and few would take any notice. Lord Lucan could be mayor here, no one would give a toss.
  23. So then enlighten me, why did they feel the need to run away, he could have just carried on boinking her on the quiet wherever it is they originate from. Why France and not Venezuela or something, wouldn't have been found in Venezuela.Sounds like a jolly ruse to rouster some cash from the media to me, so British..a bit skint, do something stupid, the media will give you money for telling them about it.
  24. Said back in the summer that I didn't understand signing Rodriguez at all cost, still don't. We had Lambert,Sharp and Lee available for 1 place on the starting line-up, plus some of these young hotshots that are supposed to be hovering just below first team level. Someone got a bee in their bonnet about "young English players" (who incidentally didn't make the olympic side) and we threw money at him until he couldn't refuse thus condemning Billy Sharp to the scrap heap(well at least temporarily) a few months after signing him because we were his best chance of PL football.
