  1. how the flip are we going to get half a point
  2. Hopefully meeting up with a demon crap hot left back free agent that all the world has overlooked then.
  3. If you skate over the Gazza/Boruc thing and assume that Jack Cork is not seen as a first team prime starter (because of the shirt number nonsense) our strongest available team is that which played against Villa and obtained our only win of the season. It's the best personnel we have playing the system we want to play. 4-3-3 although according to whoscored (http://www.whoscored.com/Matches/614197/Live) we were more 4-1-4-1 Gazza/Boruc, Clyne,José,Yoshi,Fox (cos that's all we've got)/ Morgan,Davis,Ramirez/ Lallana,Puncheon,SRL Everybody is in their right place and as I doubt that there's little difference between Frazer/Clyne and Clyne/Fox even the enforced (or was it) second half change didn't petrurb the system all that much. Some would argue that it was better. In this system we had 3 solid midfielder in err midfield and Lallana and Punch needed to do less covering.
  4. once again, it is widely recognised that God doesn't do sports.
  5. dangerous thing books, if you believe all you read in them the world will end in a few weeks and the Americans didn't land on the moon. Any nutjob can write a book and sell it if the contents are controversial enough. I'm sure plenty of people believe that there's a lot of truth in the garbage Dan Brown writes.
  6. Bale would have been about 15/16 when Harry was here so I don't think he can be blamed for leaving him out of the team. That was Burley more than likely. Perhaps Harry has given up on the QPR job already, from what I saw of them last Sunday they've every chance of getting it together soon and Hughes won't necessarily be sacked any time soon.
  7. If Lallana is being given a traditional midfield spot then he's probably part of the problem because he's more of an advanced attacking player than a midfielder per se. I'm sure that Ramirez was acquired to be one of a 3 man midfield with Lallana,Lambert and one other being attributed the roles of the 3 front men. As Ramirez is unavailable we're obviously trying to squeeze Lallana into a role that just doesn't suit him. If Cork wasn't a permafixture in the treatment room this season we might fare better with he,Davis and Morgan in midfield and Lallana,Lambert and Puncheon in attack until Ramirez is fit again but at the moment injuries are dictating to us and we're doing what we can. If we had all the players available I think we might see better results, just like the 4-1 win against Villa which I think has been the only occasion where all (apart from Cork) were available.
  8. Seen this comparison before probably on Saintslist a long time ago, the smart answer then was " I might if I hadn't scored for 3 months" or something like that.
  9. Said a lot of times last season and the one before that Fonte needs to cut out the quasi permanent all in wrestling. He's always shirt pulling, stranglegolding and bear-hugging.
  10. Seals were needed because it was a one off 100% no fail mission.
  11. doesn't seem to play much at Spurs, a few games last season and bits and bobs this.
  12. Easter ?? Christmas more likely if we can't do anything about our defence.
  13. Bale had turned 18 when he started actually playing at Spurs (only just) Had a couple of games for us at 16 though I think and the best part of a season at 17 in the CCC.
  14. I refer you to John Lyly in his 1578 work Euphues . This renaissance poet being the first to assert that in love as in war the rules of fair play do not apply, hence the idiom "all's fair in love and war".
  15. pfff..... the ideal temperature for sustained effort is around 12 degrees. Club vest and floaters, leave all the rest to the joggers and old women. Including the Ipod and GPS which are banned in IAAF competition anyway.
  16. I'm one, so that gives him about a 13 in 7 billion chance of being one of the others.
  17. Shaw is injured again you know, we're probably holding him back until Chelsea have saved up the 40 million for him.
  18. Was Rosie there as well?
  19. So in fact what you're saying here is that we are not a desirable destination even for players who "aren't that good". You don't have to be that good to be better than Seaborne or Jos the catastrophe. Hooieveld is a disaster in this League, the thing is that as we don't have a left back we have to keep playng him. I do not doubt that we would have beaten Fulham if we hadn't had to call on Jos after a few minutes and move Yoshi out to full back.
  20. Ranieri is doing a fine old job at Monaco, no doubt he is handsomely rewarded for his efforts by their Russian owner as well. Can't see him turning that in to sign on for Saints TBH.
  21. James Collins any good to you ? Available:tick, Affordable; tick Prem Experience; tick want to sign for us ; sticky one, who knows.
  22. No, but I think he may well be reflecting on some of the crazy transfer decisions that have been made since last April and finding others than NA wanting. I don't know the gent but I feel that if he was an impulsive sacker then the deed would be done by now, this morning perhaps if not yesterrday so I just get the impression that it's not going to happen at all, perhaps I'm wrong in thinking that though. Wouldn't be at all surprised if we gat a sacking in the near future though cos it's clear as day that someone is going to pay the price for our left back and centre half situation before long.
  23. Nope, if he's here on Sunday next i think he's here for the season. If he was going to be sacked it would have happened by now..or so I think.
  24. for an impact sub who seems to have about the same chance of a start as I have of being Pope....well enough said . Recruiter 2 words for you..... LEFT BACK
