  1. If Leicester turn them down as well you'd have to surmise that they're pretty stringent.Still think it's about either a guaranteed start when fit or top paid player parity.L'Equipe said more and more transfers are falling apart over that these days, player wants the same conditions as the highest paid, highest paid wants more than anyone else, Catch 22 applied to football.
  2. I know, let's have a poll.
  3. No,but only because of the way the shot was struck if it was deliberately made to bounce and skid like that. I think Paris and ART must have watched on L'Equipe TV as well and they'll confirm that our commentators said that Camp should have had it because he went down too late.I maintain that it's the way the shots are struck that are causing keepers to keep letting the ball go under them but wouldn't mind knowing why.Keepers are performing fantastic saves high and mid-height but these creepy low bastards seem to be troubling them more than ever,as Kelvin's 2 recent push outs show.
  4. Speaking of Lee Holmes and the great save that Camp made from one of his efforts. In the build up to that shot I remarked the great header out of defence, right to Hammond's feet that allowed him to set up the play but couldn't make out who headed the ball in the first place. Don't think it was Jos,could have been Martin but not at all sure.Anyone know ?
  5. A quick question for any goalkeepers or goalkeeper coaches amongst you. Why are these low shots, driven in from outside the area that bounce and skid just before they get to the keeper's range causing so much difficulty? Saw three of them on last night's Sky Sports round up,Morgan,J Rod, Modric, not identical but all with exactly the same characteristics as stated above, you'd say that all three were keeper error but there must be something that doesn't meet the eye to them.
  6. leave off, most of them are about 5.
  7. t's like oop north ees goanna focus...what boath of uss.
  8. In the Championship ..5 million £, for a team in the Championship preparing their entry to the PL...as much as it takes if they've got the money available.
  9. But we saw last week in the second half that it could work that way, today it was the way of it from the start so perhaps we have finally seen the light.I quite liked Harding at RB,not a match for Richardson when fit but does a decent job and works well with Cork I thought.
  10. One think I noticed with these balls and a bit of a bumpy, skiddy pitch is that if you hit it hard and low the keeper has less of a chance.Camp made some good saves with the ball high and at mid height but on the daisy cutter he's as vunerable as Kelvin sometimes looks.
  11. Nope if you use your arm to gain height you have to draw it back in, dangerous play...red card.Seen it 50 times and 50 times it's a straight red.Could have broken Connolly's jaw with that.
  12. Make that 10. Enjoyed that, total control, good to see we've got the 3 CMs in the right positions at last.
  13. Still very intelligent football to set up our goal, profited from the defender's error, stayed calm, waited for support and put in a nice ball that Connolly should have buried, good job Guly was there to finish the job. Don't rate Connolly, not clinical enough and to be honest a weeny bit slow.
  14. So far so good. We look pretty compact apart from a few minor errors that have given forest the odd chance. Harding and Cork down the right looks decent, pity Jack can't shoot though, must be a prerequisite for a midfielder at Saints.
  15. Guess we'd go Cork if Harding isn't judged adequate, won't play Jack Stephens yet.Trouble is if we have to go Cork at RB we're struggling in MF as well, probably have to play Holmes or Forte and I don't think that's in NA's plans if he can avoid it.Cork at RB would leave us totally without cover at CB in the event of an injury to Martin or Jos (presuming Fonte is ready yet).Bit of a conundrum really but I'm sure we'll muddle through. One thing's for sure, if the young lads get the call they have to step up to the plate without fail.
  16. Good job he's not good enough for Barcelona or Real Madrid then.
  17. Not lying really, poetic licence.
  18. Don't you just yearn for the days when keeping hold of our better players was considered as a very positive window.
  19. I'm sure that Saints fans voted Beattie as the best player on the planet on occasions.
  20. can't see why, as long as we get it right from the start it's a decent side.
  21. depends if Reeves or Hoskins is higher in the pecking order I guess.I liked the look of Hoskins last week, seemed to have a bit more about him than Reeves...not that that's a criticism mind you.
  22. look, NA said that as far as he knew we have not, repeat not, received any bids for the permanent transfer of Jason Puncheon, so who do you want to believe Nigel or Tony Finnegan?? Finnegan is an agent, he'll do or say whatever he thinks is best for his client.
  23. saints are a kaleidoscope anyway
  24. then it will come to a less than satisfactory end.I really hope we're not trying to offload Puncheon as a condition of every deal because by those standards I'll be playing for Saints soon because no club will wear that.
  25. Agent crap as usual. Where was the Saints turned down 650K for Puncheon of late....yep Daily Mail, Finnegan leaks bullsh*t to the Mail it's evident, it's like buying ad space for him.NA says no definite bids for JP, so how come we turned down 650K from Blackpool...yep figment of agent's imagination.
