As if Lloyd James doesn't know the exact position that our squad is in at this very moment.People have friends that they talk to on the telephone and twitter and all that you know. There is nothing that Ward will not know about our squad on Saturday.
-
But you don't need a particular reason for them, that's what I was getting at.

A Commodore 64?

But surely the loan window is still open for ordinary loans. Emergency loans are something else, probably because they're short term in nature or something like that. Other clubs are still signing players on loans until the end of the season.

Adkins doesn't even mention it in today's build up video/interview.Just sidesteps the injury position entirely with the usual '"we've got a strong squad all pulling together, it's not just about 11" spielge.Reckons we had a good January window and the development squad is always there anyway and that Oscar Gobern might even get his chance.Nothing about Bart orMorgan, weeny bit about Ox young lad nurturing etc etc.

Oxlade-Chamberlain - injured but on the bench?
Window Cleaner replied to Born In The 80s's topic in The Saints
In fact Adkins contradicts himself somewhat, says they thought they could get a good 20 minutes out of him and then goes on to say that if Guly was fit Ox wouldn't even have been on the bench.Adkins should just stop talking about every match and let Crosby have a stab at it from time to time, just like AP did. -

No good being vocal if you're not good enough to get into the team though. -
Lasse Viren is the key apparently, shows you can fall over in a race and still win.Unfortunately for every Lasse Viren in 72 there are hundreds of Mary Deckers in 84. Plus they didn't have as many Kenyans and Ethiopeans in those days..I really am beginning to wonder if NA knows what he's talking about with all these cosy homilies he keeps treating us to.

Oxlade-Chamberlain - injured but on the bench?

Depends Adkins can't watch the games very closely now can he, he said Morgan collided with the goalkeeper on Tuesday but in reality he collided with a defender who tackled him. -
not great mathematics there though,Colchester is missing and I think the points total is way off. Looks more like 30 odd than 27.

Les Reed, Lou Reed was with Velvet Underground and should never ever be got rid of,not sure that he's not dead though:x Nope not dead.

Question for the Positive-Thinkers after the Walsall result
Window Cleaner replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
Oh? I don't doubt that we wanted to win as much as Walsall did but our side is now becoming seriously diminished by injury and several of our better elements are gone from the line up.If we'd been able to play Ox from the start (or even if he'd been fully fit for 20 minutes) if we'd had Guly in reserve, if Morgan had lasted the 95 minutes everything might have been so much different. These things were not to be unfortunately but we still gave good account of ourselves, just couldn't score that's all. The fact that they did score is once again down to the fact that we are piling forward all the time and have little composure in our own half. -
And these monumental errors were?

Don't know that I'd want at 34 year old raincoat flashing troublemaker in our side. -

Question for the Positive-Thinkers after the Walsall result
Window Cleaner replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
Although I have no great objection to the dismissal of AP it should have been done in the close season if it were to be done at all. Was it so urgent that we could not line up a replacement and then sack him? Why did we expose ourselves to the 3/4 game Wilkins disaster? Something stinks about the Pardew dismissal if only the timing of it. At the end of the season we could look back and say yep NA's results are on a par with anybody else's it was the 3 straight loss Wilkin's period that eventually cost us everything. -
It just isn't that simple though,we keep suffering these results because we do not convert our goal chances. It's a recurrent pattern, it happened on Day 1 of the season and it's happened again on Day 31 with sporadic recurrences in between. We need a striker who strikes about every other game, this is not Lambert because if you take away the 6 penalties and the deflected free kick his tally is 8 from 30 in League games, compare that to Murray or Mackail-Smith or a couple of others who don't take penalties and the goal haul of our principal striker is alarmingly poor. We need a striker and have all season. That we didn't do something about that in the transfer window is negligent .

Ah but when money stops talking the whole planet will be silent.

Walsall 1 - 0 Saints - Post Match Reaction
Window Cleaner replied to Saint_clark's topic in The Saints
That the DR thread is shorter than the post match for Tuesday must be my fault. I haven't posted on the DR thread because I've absolutely nothing to say on that subject,or ever on any similar thread.Although with 217 or so posts that would mean that I'm not the only one right? -
I still think our only problem is the lack of an out and out striker,a quarter chance converter if you like.I just cannot understand why this hasn't been rectified by now.
-
I guess so and they seem to find it acceptable. I mean TF was on the bench on Tuesday and an injury to a keeper is always a possibility.I thought we had the Arsenal lad for a month, perhaps it was some sort of emergency loan that ended when Forecast came back though.Tis a strange situation, league rules perhaps, then again it could be something that the coach responsible for Arse's reserves or youth team didn't like about our set up, who really knows. We have become so secretive about absolutely everything nowadays that you never really know anything.Perhaps Bart is nearly back to operational fitness.

Although we aren't yet in a situation where we need to win every game.We can probably still afford to lose 2 more, provided one of them isn't Bournemouth. -
Plymouth away will be an important game, if ever they find some money to survive until the end of the season and they get a couple of results that may permit them to think that they can still escape relegation then they may be a problem for us.don't fancy our chances at either Rochdale or Orient anyway, 2 draws there I think. Brighton we'll lose unless we get a loan striker..which we won't. Bournemouth...now this is the key game.At the moment we can go ahead of them on goal difference (at least +4) should we win the games we have in hand on them, but if they can still stay ahead of us anyway they may play for a draw and we know that they can defend at Dean Court. Of our home games the only one I fear is Sheffield Wednesday, they should be doing better than they have been of late and will probably click eventually, they also looked difficult to break down against Bournemouth. My projection? Home: 5 wins and 2 draws 17 points Away 3 wins and 3 draws,1 defeat thus leaving Bournemouth being the all important decider.
-
Still think second myself but may have to revise this once the real injury situation and the true card count become evident. For instance if we had to ever play Forecast because Bart is out long/medium term and we ever end up with a CM pairing of Chaplow/Gobern then I'd have to revise my opinion.
-
Perhaps because our in house replacement was utterly useless and still is.When we get rid of Wilkins it will be a great occasion for SFC. In my opinion we need to get shot of Wilkins and Les Reed and see what happens.
