  1. Liverpool are a very poor side at the moment because of the imbalance between attack and defence.Torres clearly isn't interested any more and Gerrard is just a waste of space. When those 2 aren't performing they are a very very ordinary side, beatable by any other Prem side.Which is why Comolli is desperately shopping around for players at a reasonable price who can play now and not in 3 years time. Sylvain Marveaux is their latest target ever heard of him?? no? I thought not . Today's Liverpool aren't yesterday's Liverpool if you see what I mean.Whereas Saints are still by far superior to the likes of Exeter and should win if there are no individual errors..
  2. but midfield players just have to get cards from time to time. It's a real combat zone in this division.Take a look at the stats for League 1. I don't doubt that apart from the real psychos all the regular offenders are in CM. Chappers and Morgan both got booked for fouls on Pilkington on Tuesday,I think both of theirs got cards for fouls on Guly.A card every 3 or 4 games is about par for the course in CM in League 1.Morgan took one for the team again because Pilkington was clean through, even Merrington who usually grannies on about card getting said it was a "good foul". Puncheon last season got a packet of cards when he was in CM for Dons, then not so many when he was on the wing for us.
  3. I really don't think there will be many more signings, what are we to do with them?? A striker maybe but that's about all.We don't have much roster space unless we want blokes hanging around doing nothing. If there are many more in then there'll have to be outs as well.
  4. Pat knows stuff
  5. much as expected then.Couldn't see the club not doing the necessary well before time.
  6. didn't even make it through the month, thigh muscle tear I think. Good player but oh so injury prone.Would probably be fighting with Connolly for the newspaper in the treatment room every morning.
  7. As you wish, we shall see what we shall see. This isn't old Liverpool, this is new Liverpool and Comolli is Comolli. As he's calling the shots you just don't know what to expect.Gervinho is no spring chicken yet they're(reportedly) going to pay 10 million £ for him.
  8. I'm sure he won't go to Liverpool anyway, they're supposed to be close to signing the Ivoirien Gervinho from Lille for a fair wedge. If Liverpool were looking at us on Tuesday I doubt that it would be for AOC, Lallana maybe and Comolli was a known admirer of a certain midfielder of ours who he may believe could be had on the cheap just now.Comolli likes French (and francophone) players, he took Kaboul and Taraabt to Spurs (and they both have the same agent as said midfielder of ours).
  9. Probably some obscure on-line betting outfit
  10. probably won't get a game, don't think he's a regular starter. Harley is their danger man but I don't doubt that Deano and Richardson will deal with him effectively. Probably a booking for Deano in store though.
  11. because they took the free kick very quickly and not in the same spot as the foul (well behind it though). As our players had switched off they thought they should moan about getting caught out I suppose.
  12. doubt if we'd be allowed to throw coins at them any more though. Wouldn't be PC and H+S would have a field day.
  13. I watched a bit of Liverpool Wolves yesterday and I wouldn't think more attacking players is Liverpool's priority, their weakness is in midfield and in the build up to attacks. So if Comolli was at SMS on Tuesday I'd tend to think he was looking at players other than than Ox.Player's who'd probably cost less and fill more immediate needs. But then Hodgson is a shît manager (not at all saints related)
  14. not if they've already agreed to sell him to us and the papers are all ready for the FA.Can't see why we'd have waited really unless they've tried to bump the price or something like that. St Leger is rumoured to have already tied up his deal with WBA so why should we be any different.
  15. soon there'll be so many manager vacancies in the NPC that they'll have to hire Poortvliet or Wotte.
  16. that means that 3 NPC teams are currently without a manager, that can't happen all that often.
  17. tennis wallahs
  18. I too am sure that we would have done the necessary...just one little niggle in all that Wotton coming back.
  19. Laws and Ferguson sacked on the same day then?? Anyway it depends what has been agreed doesn't it.I thought Chappers was costing Preston too much money anyway, plus their fans think he's shîte, not that they know anything about football mind you.
  20. But there may be people voting who didn't actually go to the game. I see a couple of suspicious names on the voting list.
  21. Fonte let their striker get behind him twice at least, seemed to take a bit of time to get going again.
  22. No doubt, but one of the club's main aims is to create a talent pathway between the academy and the first team. If there's no outlet because the path is bunged up with Wottons and Forecasts it defeats the object.
  23. Depends exactly where we are with Lallana,Ox and Puncheon doesn't it ? I have absolutely no idea whether they'll all be here, all gone or somewhere in between come 1st february. I guess the club have some sort of idea though.Thought NA was a bit evasive on the question of outs in his latest interview...probably means nothing though.Jordan Sibley says Comolli wasn't there yesterday,he may well be right but I've heard he was.
  24. I would very much doubt that, Barney may be a better striker but I'd think Gully was a better all-round player.
  25. But surely you can't make a loan permanent outside of the transfer window can you? That would kind of defeat the object of the window surely?
