  1. Trouble is in the Mike Ashley book of dubious player acquisitions there were only 67 methods. You've probably just given him a new idea.
  2. Hmmm did he look well connected, dressed in a suit??? must be the same that someone saw in a pub somewhere.
  3. It's not really about being 'cut loose' though, it's about squeezing 15 away games into the 19 weeks that remain of the season. Still League 1 doesn't programme all that much midweek football so there are plenty of free dates.
  4. Yes we would have won this one at least. Charlton away......will be a good game but I wouldn't bet on the outcome (or Huddersfield at home for that matter).
  5. I suppose Walsall are a club of very little means, perhaps they can't afford covers for the pitch and all that sort of stuff. One of the big problems of being in the 3rd division, crap clubs with no fans and no money.
  6. Says so on the BBC, OS says nothing as yet.
  7. perhaps his preferred position is occupied by Lallana, perhaps we don't use his preferred position at all
  8. In whatever country that was they probably don't worry too much if someone slips up outside the ground and bruises their bum. I remember last year's game against Huddersfield at SMS was postponed not because of the state of the pitch but because of the state of the area around the stadium. Now I saw Chicago Bears-NE Patriots the other day, snow everywhere on the pitch, temperature down around -5 or 6 but the game went on and they had 60000 in the stands. It's about H+S and fear of litigation more than anything else in the UK these days.
  9. And how do you think he managed that?? Too much pumping iron perhaps rather than endurance work. The number of muscular injuries we seem to have have might bear that out.
  10. I think it's a too many cooks spoil the broth case rather than a many hands make light work one.
  11. Strange that Strachan's run till you drop regimes were always lauded as the nec-plus ultra of football coaching and Pardew's weren't though isn't it.
  12. I don't think there's any more baking powder anyway....something to do with defence cuts.
  13. I saw that, now perhaps he could get us Billy Sharp from Doncaster in part exchange for Fish. That might do us some good.
  14. I certainly want the club to get out of this god awful league, I am unconvinced that we are going the right way about it though. I do not rate Adkins so far. To me he wasn't the right choice and results so far would seem to indicate that I am not wrong. If we carry on as we have been we will not obtain automatic promotion and then we go into a sort of lottery where one personal action can bring about collective disaster. I do not know why we appointed Adkins, his credentials are not those of a manager who will guarantee success, which is what seems to be required.
  15. Why would either of them want to say anything, no doubt got a decent pay-off and now they both have what most would consider a better job.Our loss is others gain. Still we got to keep Wilkins eh................Wilkins must be one of the few Saints "managers" to lose 100% of the games he was in charge.
  16. So instead of playing in the snow...which is totally possible we'll be playing in a foot of slush,shît and grit. Yeh right on. Football used to be played in the snow, brush off the lines and wheel out the old orange ball, don't know where all this namby pamby postponing came from.No-one ever worried if upped on my arse on my way to the Dell, if the pitch was OKd by the ref the game was on and everyone just had to make the best of it.
  17. Pardew signings.....Pardew knows about football,I really am not sure that Adkins knowledge is as great, we shall see.Plus I think the chief scout was given the boot wasn't he??? Bill Green? Now at Leicester I think.
  18. Because I don't really trust either the Chairman or the Manager in the matter of recruitment. To me neither have a sufficient foottballing pedigree to be assured of getting it right.
  19. But I am entirely unconvinced that the transfer window will be well managed. I shall wait and see.
  20. but the point is DD that it was stated that NA's record so far is over 15 games of which we had won 9,that is wrong. Last season doesn't matter, the fact is that the stats used are wrong. If you take NA's league record with us we are by no means certain to obtain automatic promotion, neither would we be ahead of the field by 2 points. What is always missed in these stats based assumptions is that we are way way behind with our away games. I gave you all the true projection of our season the other day based on home/away records. The only realistic assumption is that we'll obtain somewhere between 72 and 84 points if NA was in charge over the whole season.
  21. if he doesn't get a red card in training before then that is.
  22. not by me though..
  23. but surely 2 of the games were home cup ties against League 2 opposition??? NA in the League (which is all that counts)) P13 W7 D3 L3 5 away games 8 home games. 24 points from 13 games, which would just about put us into second place. If you're going to use stats to make a point might as well get it right.
  24. Strange dos letting McLaggon go and keeping others who haven't ever made any impact at all. Perhaps it was an attitude thingy again. In fact sometimes I think our youth policy is a sort of lucky dip.
