  1. If he was any sort of manager he could do something with the one he has.Bloke is a waste of time, we do not need S****horpe rejects here.
  2. No but everybody needs to look at the build up to this goal, Lallana puts in a powder puff boot and then Dickson just lets his man run away from him, when he sees what he's done he makes a desperate grab at his shirt but it's too late, that's Sunday League defending,if he can't do better than that he shouldn't be in the side.Harding can at least tackle.
  3. when everybody gets to see the "highlights" they might well ask him what he thought he was doing poncing about waving his arms and leaving the Brentford man acres of space to have a crack at goal for their first.True Kelvin cocked up but if Dickson had closed his man down correctly he might not have got a shot in.Harding would probably have hit the bloke before he could shoot.
  4. It's not about being 9th, it's the 7 defeats that we've suffered in less than half a season AP 1 DW 3 NA 3 (being reasonable about MK Dons there) It's a shambles.
  5. Don't have a mortgage, paid off eons ago, how about 10 bob??
  6. With all due respect to your obviously superior inside knowledge then why did Adkins say otherwise not so long back?? He said in one of his interviews that RL was fit again and should be moving forward, is that not right then??? does NA deliberately deceive the fans?? if so I would then say that's a sacking offence because he doesn't know what he's talking about and he doesn't seem to know what he's doing with this group of players. So if you know you're right say so, if not .........
  7. This is right doddsy The team is basically the same as last season except that Lambert can't score and Lallana isn't knocking in as many. Ohh right we kicked Puncheon out, forgot that. I wouldn't be at all surprised if we bought 3 new players and saw very little change in performances against the better sides in the division. We only need 1 change Lambert in the reserves and a striker who still knows what he's about in his place, plus getting Puncheon back of course.
  8. Strange thing is though Gobern played for us quite a few times in the Championship, Callum McNish even got at least 1 run out. Now 2 years later they're still too inexperienced to play any part in a lower league. However Nile Ranger who we kicked out of the academy cos he was a bit of a bad lad gets a run on for Newcastle virtually every game, same age, same background, only our treatment of them is different.
  9. must have been a bit of a busy beaver this week then. Hernia op (laparoscopy I suppose) Police station friday, talking to fans yesterday. Busy schedule for someone recovering from an op.
  10. Then it would be put in the pile with the rest. I am staggered to read that most posters really believe that we haven't already 3 or 4 offers for Lallana on the chairman's desk. Hopefully he'll turn them down.
  11. Correct, in football scoring is all that makes a difference.Mazy runs, gung ho charging forward from midfield are totally useless if there is no end product. We dominate but can't finish it off and then we get hit on the break or somebody cocks up and the heads go down. IF we had put our chances away yesterday we'd probably be eulogising about a 4-2 win with a bit of a balls up at the back. This has been going on all season, since day 1, when we score we're top of the world but if a side has some sort of defence and a decent keeper we're shîte,ie not clinical. The problem is that we have a main striker who is absolute pants this season, 1 goal from open play in 22 or 23 matches. That is the problem, fix that and we'll look a changed side.It is not rocket science it is kindergarden football knowledge, if you have a striker who can't strike you change him for someone who can.
  12. midfielder, defensive variety.
  13. And yet if you take the benchmark performances from last season, Huddersfield at home or Norwich away the team isn't all that much different. Just Puncheon missing with Semi and Antonio in most cases. We have lost our way and yet it's basically the same players. Although I did think that Semi added a lot going forward (and very little at the back). The one crucial difference is that defences feared Lambert (and Antonio) .Now he's just a cardboard cutout of the old RL and defences know that, it gives them space,it allows the midfield to get forward and stifle ours, our ful backs aren't getting forward as much allowing theirs to do so.Now I know it's not really on topic but when AP sent on Nile Ranger yesterday everything changed, he just kept on hammering into the Liverpool back line, they were scared crapless, thus it gave Carroll time and space to do his thing. If you don't percute the opposition's defence then you will not win, it's as easy as that.
  14. beginning to think that myself, we have lost our identity.
  15. Doesn't make any sense to me,because the opposition are professional football teams and they are usually ITK about most things. In some of his spielges Adkins strikes me as a cross between a doddering schoolmaster, Mary Whitehouse and something out of Dad's Army. I get the impression sometimes that he could bawl out players and it'd be just like stopping their pocket money for a week, unfortunate but not the end of the world.
  16. Already ????????? Resigned to a play-off lottery perhaps.
  17. If he's still here that is.
  18. I'm not sure that there is a Mrs Fonte,,there is a Ms Sumner however.
  19. nothing, not adverse to Pardew being sacked myself but definitely not impressed by the replacement. I would have thought we could have done so much better, guess I thought wrong.I shall look forward to our side being filled out with Scµnthorpe hand me downs in January then as well as 3 or 4 of our own players moving on.
  20. Well I believe he said it yes, last summer when the pressure on him to say something got too hot,in fact I saw the interview on Saint's Player I guess. Why he said it who knows. I am not completely comfortable with anything he says really but as I'm a trusting sort:? what can you do. Now if leftback said something well then that I could well believe.
  21. 1 goal from open play in 23 games, that says RL is dump this season.Nothing else matters. Anyone who cannot see this and babbles on about contribution, penalty technique, past achievements is just a fool. That includes the manager.
  22. With just 27 games left including Charlton at home and away, Brighton away, Plymouth away and Oldham twice as well what you have to realise is that we can only afford to lose another 3 matches this season because we need at least 19 more wins. To Play 27, W19,L3 D5 Is probably about the minimum requirement. Even being generous (with reason) and leaving MK Dons out NA's record to date just doesn't suggest that will happen as we've about 15 away games to play.
  23. Although he said he didn't, strange that then.
  24. who'd be stupid enough to say that then.AOC looks reasonable because he sometimes plays against awful defences. The 2 goals he scored against Dagenham were gift wrapped by their Sunday League keeper. He may have pace but in the savvy department I'm not so sure. We should not,I repeat not, have let Puncheon go just because AOC had a couple of decent looking performances against woefully poor sides, it was a crass mistake of the premier order.NA should have told Millwall to shove it and not even speak to Punch about it.Because Holmes is just a glass ornament, anyone who looks at his injury record could tell that.
  25. If you look at NA's record with us it shows that the results to date during his tenure (without counting MK Dons) would not be good enough to obtain automatic promotion. P13 W7 L3 D3 24 points extrapolated over the whole season that would be 84/85 points which probably won't get us automatic. In fact we now need another 60 points from 27 games including a majority away.I don't think we'll do that because nothing than NA has shown us so far leads me to believe that we can beat the better sides in the league like Charlton and Oldham. Oh without a doubt we'll go to Walsall and win 4-0 and euphoria will reign here again but we aren't doing it when it counts on a constant basis no matter what team we put out and that my friends is down solely to the manager and the coaches.
