  1. Couldn't say.Thought he was well intentioned enough but got into too many problem areas to secure the majority he needed. What I'd like to see is a chairman/CEO who is content to just run the club and let the manager do everything connected with football. A sort of Hill-Wood/Wenger relationship because wherever there is too much interaction the roles get confused.
  2. Of course not, although I'd rather have a football man in charge and someone with a respectable resumé as manager.Dream on I hear you say.
  3. I still reckon £5 million is well on the high side though, 401k in agents fees is a mighty big wack though. They obviously made us pay through the nose.
  4. how do you mean? we needed it but 13 in one go with 2 replacements is quite a drastic slashing of playing staff. Still don't get the £5 million though. We made a shedload last year, doubt if we lost any money at all on the match/cost basis.
  5. Out of interest how do you make up the £5 million?? Just asking cos i don't see it as any where much higher than 3.5 and then we sold Rasiak for a wee bit and had a good old clear-out last summer.,
  6. OK I'll see what I can do.
  7. Right now not so much.We are a shadow of the team I used to support, and I started in the late 50's, aged 5. When we are out of League 1 I shall no doubt find following the club less painful. I hate to see us where we are, with all the money we're supposed to have (and I seriously doubt that we have any significant sum available in reality). I think we're heading down all the wrong alleys, making future development more important than the 1st team. When we're out of League 1 we can move forward on the development but right now every resource that we have at our disposition should be channelled into getting out of this League. It isn't happening for me as yet.We do not need 25 youth academy educators and admnistrators, we need a centre forward who can score goals that's all.
  8. Sure when he does something positive about the erratic crap on the football field. Couldn't care less about him sacking Pardew but it wasn't done at the right time and Adkins still has everything to prove as far as I'm concerned.
  9. Cortese ??? nothing he has done so far gives me much confidence in his ability to take us forward, nothing whatsoever.
  10. Really?? I don't know how you can say that about a man who has a league management of just 41 days and a fabulous record P7 W1 L5 D 1. Obviously knows what he's talking about ehh!! No wonder he may have thought AP was working the players too hard, didn't he give Charlton's players Christmas off or something like that? even though they were absolutely woeful and bit of extra training might not have gone amiss.
  11. You only have to zip over to the Ugly or that other lot and County Saint's original post is up for all to see. Well at least it was yesterday, it's exactly the same as the post that was here.
  12. Not that is probably means anything but neither Chaplow or Barnard appear on the build up video clips.
  13. True, but you have to go into Player to find it for the time being. No doubt they'll link it to the front page of the OS soon.
  14. agent says only Millwall.
  15. don't think Mark's about much now, haven't seen anything from him anywhere for a while now.Even under another name his stuff would be easy to recognise.
  16. Puncheon's agent says that Millwall want to keep him and that he doesn't know of any other potential acquirers.
  17. I shall not bleat, I promise, I expect players to be sold because we are in one of the shîttest leagues in football. If I was any good and in League 1 I'd want to "be all I can be" as well.As for chairmen, I don't believe any of them.
  18. Well if I were managing on a budget at the time of appointment of Stuart Gray I might not have spent 4 million on a physical wreck from Ecuador and his cousin.I might have got a proven manager in that I wouldn't necessarily have to pay off(at 1 million £+) a few weeks later. I might even think before I did stupid things because they were the cheap option. No-one can defend Lowe over the appointment of Stuart Gray....no-one.
  19. Ah but if I was in they habit of gobbing everything that successive "chairmen" of this club had said I'd still be wondering where Wilde's investment was and why we sold Walcott,Bale and Kenwyne Jones or even why we didn't sign a striker in the summer. It's not pessimism, it's seen it all before!!!
  20. what like Stuart Gray and Steve Wigley you mean, one of Lowe's great qualities, the cheaper they came the more he respected them.
  21. Although the club does seem to like making a maximum of money, £3 booking fee, parking charges....all these thing tend to indicate (well to me anyway) that we won't turn down a good offer for the lad...or anyone else for that matter.
  22. Two points a game might not get us automatic promotion now, we'd need 2.2 ish to be sure.13 points from these 6 games is what we need. Can't see us having any difficulty with that really.
  23. A team is never consistently better than it's weakest player, because better opposition will invariably find the fault line. I would say we lost against Brentford because of 2 individually poor actions, and I don't mean Kelvin. Same player was involved in both of them.
  24. I see Liverpool have just signed up a 16 year old keeper from Millwall, young Turkish international apparently. The comment that goes with it on Liverpool's behalf is that "you have to sign up young talent at 16/17/18 to ensure the future is of the club. Big clubs now hoover up everything worth having at that age because if they don't someone will soon be asking them them to pay 5/10 million for the same player. In fact it's become a trap for young players, clubs are signing them to 4/5 year contracts at 17/18 and then demanding huge sums to let them move on to bigger clubs where they may flourish. It's a lesson to young players do not get ensnared by lower league clubs on long contracts because you may never get out of them.
