exactly, they know nothing about English football outside of the liberal doses of EPL which they get every Saturday,Sunday and Monday (if your well off enough to pay for Canal+),doesn't stop them making a mathematical comparison though. However Marseille get a regular 50K,PSG and Lyon around 40K and some of the others 27/28K. It's not all that sinister plus it's cheapish.

even though he's playing the "number 10" role yeah right, caught all that off the bat. Our centre forward is in fact now playing,by design, err somewhere else than where he should be, we don't actually have a CF anyway,so actually we're playing 4-4-1-1-0 with goalscoring being the responsibility of anyone except our primary striker....bull**** that's what I say, the bloke is off the pace and it just looks like he's playing a different role.

Liege is a pretty nice place, now Anderlecht that's something different, in the slums north of Brussels.

If our game at Hartlepool is called off next weekend...

Are we skint again then? -
the weather forecasts are totally unpredictable as well, if you look at today's forecast (see above) and the observed temperature 30 miles away in real time you'll see a discrepancy already of -3°. The old forecasters tend to be a bit optimistic, they forecast 4°c for here today, it's actually about -5° with a foot or so of snow on the ground.
-
Hope the game does go ahead though because what we don't want (Dave's got me at it now) is a build up of midweek fixtures at far distant places involving many hours of travel. We've already got Oldham which will be midweek now we don't need Hartlepool as well.

Although he didn't say it for us or our fans, he said it to justify what the French see as an atypical pathway. They cannot understand what a player of his calibre is doing in the 3rd division, to them it's "National" standard, that's barely professional status.
-
Morgan was most definite in an interview he gave on the FFF site a while back. He's here to play,it's why he's here, he believes we will go on to higher things, he just wants to play.I know the FFF weren't particularly happy with the arrangement but they seemed to have gotten over it.As I've said before being dropped when he came back from the last 2 match trip with the bleuets has seemingly been a real downer for him, maybe he's just ****ged out because he's played too much football for a player of his age, especially in the permanently hostile environment of CM in League1.Something has triggered a change in attitude with him but who knows what exactly that is.
-
he can be sold but he can't play for Liege, doubt if that will worry them with all the snow and the cold and what have you he'd not miss many matches from here to the 1st January, winter break on the continent is about 2/3 games away. Most clubs are well into their transfer dealings already, some leak out some don't but just because the window is shut it doesn't mean nothing is happening. In fact in France there are no loan windows just the summer and winter mercatos. You can get 1 medical joker under exceptional circumstances but that's it.

I wouldn't bet an awful lot on the game going ahead really http://news.bbc.co.uk/weather/forecast/2369
-
Yes I know that but it would seem to me that Barney was subbed a lot last season as well, it's probably the same problem. I think that the medical staff are managing quite a lot of players at the moment,Adkins refers to it in most of his Saintsplayer interviews.I wouldn't doubt that they are managing a few cases of mental fatigue as well, Jose and Morgan being two obvious candidates. You can never be certain because NA obviously doesn't speak of individual cases most of the time, he indicates it's happening though and you can pick your own candidates.
-
Trouble with Barney is that he doesn't seem to be able to go the distance any too often,we get an hour out of him each time but no more.Lambert has been shouldering all the donkey work for far too long and we don't have any real alternatives, last season we had Papa and Antonio to help out a bit. When you look at the appearance statistics this season and last for some of our players you can see exactly why their form might have dipped. Rickie 83 games in 16 months (plus pre-season) Deano virtually the same,Lallana 70 odd,Morgan 70 ish plus 6 or 7 internationals, the lads are probably ****ged out most of the time, some handle it better than others but you can bet your old boots that any base injuries (you know those deep rooted niggles that you can tolerate) aren't getting any better.
-
Here's a thought for you. RL probably played what somewhere around 58 games for us last season, most of them the full 90, that's probably nigh on a double season for most players. We might have burnt him out . Southampton played far too many games last season and we may well be paying the penalty for it this season.
-
probably won't even play, might not even still be here.
-
Guly is a good player, still not sure the coaches and manager know what they're doing with him though. Might be above their pay grade as the transatlantic cousins say.Bet Guly hasn't worked out why tellytubby gets a game every week and he doesn't.
-
should be alright now, the extended highlights are up.Still miss those full 90s though. One interesting point, when Lallana put an effort a bit wide (3.09 in) look into the back field and see who's waving and gesticulating a full 15/20 yards behind the ball, yep you've got it Rickie Lambert. Virtually the whole side is in front of him, slow?? not even that fast.

and where was that then? not that I doubt it because it sounds far fetched, but then so did some of the stuff lb told us.Most of which seemed to have some factual base in the end.
-
now it would seem to me that Bournemouth,Peterborough,Charlton and Huddersfield all have (or had in the case of Bournemouth) 2 strikers who have scored more than any one in our squad, and Lambert has 4 penalties in his score as well.Maybe they all have a shedload of penalties, I don't follow any of them closely. Fortunately we have a decent defence to mop up the inefficiency of our strikers a bit.
-
we wouldn't get 800k for an old war horse like Lambert,we wouldn't have got 2 million for him in the summer either. There are numerous young bucks in the UK and elsewhere who could do a better job in the higher leagues than an ageing D3 hotshot,
-
if it's in the Sun it must be true.
-
he did leave him out against Shrewsbury
-
I doubt if it's Blackpool in themselves that are creating apathy, it's what they represent, a side who were in the same league as us not 2 full seasons ago, probably considered as inferior to us at that time because many thought we'd finish above them.We look at where we are and where they are and it brings about a certain train of thought at least if not self pity.
-
If we'd taken our chances so far we would walk this league

because he just got a massive kick up the arse from Sir Alex, 6 months to prove himself or so it's said.
