surely, any word can be offensive to someone....I dont find the word mong offensive...nor do I personally know anyone who does..so to me, it is no issue. it is not an illegal term..I probably would not use it directly at a genuine mong.....but on a football forum where very little is serious, I like to think it is fine..

what if people do have a limited vocabulary...? are they not allowed to speak..?
