Anyone Else Uneasy About The Money Side Of Things?
Thedelldays replied to Gemmel's topic in The Saints
i thought the reason why we didnt have proven prem players caused us to struggle and not be able to see out games....that was the general vibe now, we dont want that..? -

You are quite right. I am happy and content that we won't be playing CL football anytime soon if ever with the current setup. Bit when we do sell Ramirez and shaw. It won't go down well But buying potential is massive gamble this season. Look at Shyte west ham with their Shyte manager. They will comfortably survive and never been in the bottom 6 at all. They have prem experience and what is to stop them buying their own Ramirez next season? -

We should be asking. And not just on here We spent years having a pop at Pompey fans for lapping it up. And some are already doing so here Is a £50m outlay for us in one season living within our means. I would be utterly amazed if it was -
He is that. As is Defoe. But he scores more.
-
Or he could go back as he has unfinished business, a fan and they are a monster of a club. We shall see. Think he will be a saint though
-
If you were in the forces, you probably would I even know a Ross county fan and a Peterhead fan
-
ah i see.....not really sure why you feel the need to have a pop guess it is a common trait on here...unless you think adkins is super duper, saints are just doing the best ever and us spending massive money is totally different to say QPR throwing money at it....you must be sneered at i get it
-
bit of a selfish view....bet you never had a problem under WGS when we were more direct... we hoof it plenty of times ourselves
-
but our squad is better (imo) than Norwich, wigan, hull, stoke when they came up...light years ahead of blackpool who lead at OT on the last day but lost and went down what people are after is just not going to happen..IE "quality cover in all positions"....no team in their first season in the prem has that...just none..and many who have stayed up did not even have the squad we have now..no where near it... remember stoke had delap and ricardo fuller as their main players....we thought they were utter garbage in the NPC.... if we cant stay up, with a club that spent the whole season in the NPC in the top 2 and added £30m worth of players in all areas of the park...then, again in my opinion, adkins has fuk'd it up......as again, plenty of managers who would be laughed at if they were suggested as saints manager have stayed up with said poorer squads...phil brown and paul jewell for a start...and holloways miracle and blackpool nearly came off
-
my opinion..ok (no doubt you will disagree/sneer) looking back from the last couple of season in the prem..I have seen team come up (and not spent the whole season in the top two of the NPC) spend very little compared to us and stay up....the mighty hull, wigan, stoke (their team in the first season was woeful) norwich and swansea.. none of which came up in the position we did...I believe we have got a better squad than many of those DID and they stayed up..some quite comfortably .even blackpool with the great gary taylor-fletcher and marlon harewood went to the last day......... we go on about the likes of QPR throwing money at it..yet we (if rumours are to be correct) are set to be one of the biggest spenders in europe...insane to go down if you are just that so yes, right now, I believe we have the players good enough to stay up..as I have said, others have come up with (IMO) worse squads I still am not sure about the manager though...we should have after a £30m spend
-
plenty of other teams have managed it..some quite comfortably

if we stay up...danny graham would be a good shout in june -
stoke was a good game..but we need wins...and at we have a skill of giving away winning positions..for what ever reasons. we went down last time for mainly that reason
-
because it would involve little money spent....compared to gambling £12m on him
-
I doubt he would hold negotiations/talks with the kit man
-
that I would agree with...a loan

would be immense going forward...but we will concede a bucket load -
where did I say he was a waste of money...why did you make that up I think it would be a wrong move for us....... but carry on though
-
he played over half a dozen times for espanyol..not all were wide...... his favoured position is in the hole..... if we stuck ramirez out on the wing every game that side of the pitch would get destroyed in the premier league....hence why we dont
-
just think after the time he takes to settle...we will lose the defensiveness we have buit wide (after getting mullered at the start of the season)...his flashes of brilliance whilst he adapts would be a huge negative on the team
