  1. Thats true. I think the players just live in Ocean Village because of the ideal location (i.e. food, drink nearby) and the close proximity to the stadium.
  2. No it says that we will pay 6m only if they give us a friendly in return for the extra 1m. I had to re read it as well!
  3. According to Chris Boden he understands that there is a meeting scheduled for this afternoon. danbsfc: @bodenknights Do you think Jay would've verbally agreed terms, go have medical and then come back to sign on the line? Possible? bodenknights: @danbsfc not sure, but meeting scheduled for this afternoon
  4. I wouldn't put it past him as he is physically very fit but I just think keeping Lambert, JR, Sharp & Lee all happy is a big ask. Some games will suit others better.
  5. I don't think we'll see Lambert and Jay Rod often. I can see it for a few games against more physical sides ie. Stoke etc but I feel they will be rotated like Holt and Morison at Norwich last season. They very rarely played together but they were often rotated. There will be games where we need 2 upfront with pace + penetration. Rod and Sharp may be more appropriate as Jay can hold it up but also get in behind and Sharp offers that natural goal scoring ability. However there will be games where teams need to be stretched and are strong in midfield so Lambert will play, drop off into the hole, pull wide etc and then its up to Adkins who he plays alone upfront, be it JR (height in box), Lee (pace + movement) or Sharp (poacher + goalscorer). Great to have such options though!
  6. I know it would please the fans but i think it's vital we get this signed and sealed ASAP, be it today or tomorrow. The longer we go without him signing the contract, it gives Everton that little bit extra time to try and get cash together (if their apparent interest is genuine) whether a medical here has been successful or not.
  7. Janine Self from the People believes that Butland to Saints has a 7/10 possibility. (Watch the Video) http://www.lifesapitch.co.uk/laptv/two-minute-warning/doumbia-to-arsenal-toon-chase-debuchy-butland-to-saints/?
  8. Sunday I don't know but we announced Fonte on a Saturday morning so who knows?!
  9. Yeah THEVMAN, when do you expect it to be official? Later this afternoon or tomorrow?
  10. Now this I do believe! Thanks VMAN! Usually spot on with team news so I expect you to be right re: transfer news!
  11. Then there was good old Tony Lynam. Mr nice guy, always wishing the club the best only for his consortium to be the ones to nearly kill the club! Thank the lord we never ended up with him and Micky Fiasco!
  12. It's keeping everyone interested and minds off Jay until he signs!!
  13. Nothing major but just a little find. Found the lads agent on Twitter. You never know what you may uncover... danbsfc: @Agent_mb Ok thanks. Another one, been a few rumours of Liam Trotter to #saintsfc? Anything? Agent_mb: @danbsfc i am Liam's agent .... No comment danbsfc: @Agent_mb Really? I hadn't noticed… Fair enough. Just seeing if I could prise anything out of you. Agent_mb: @danbsfc not about that I'm afraid
  14. Another genuine agent named Mark Bennett who works for ProStar Sports Management... danbsfc: @Agent_mb Hi, quick question. You may know nothing about it but... do you know the latest on Jay Rodriguez to Saints at all? Thanks. Agent_mb: @danbsfc fair as I am aware he was there this weekend having a medical danbsfc: @Agent_mb Ok thanks. Just a few contrasting reports thats all. Expecting it to be announced next week do you know? Agent_mb: @danbsfc if he has had a medical then yes some time next week I would have thought On a side note, just found out one of his clients is Liam Trotter. Might have to ask some questions...
  15. Agree. I listen more to what Chris Boden and Suzanne Geldard (Lancs Telegraph) say more that Nixon. Another one I also think worth listening to is Samuel Marsden (a freelance journalist in Manchester). He says Nixon used to be spot on when Coyle was boss but ever since Coyle has left, been very hit and miss. He can't see EFC matching our bid and also expects it to go through BY Monday so if not tomorrow then Monday it is.
  16. He's just said now bodenknights: @Zoggers87 Tripps going nowhere just yet, probably early next week announcement on Jay if all goes to plan
  17. Chris Boden from the Burnley Express still adamant the deal will go through, possibly even tomorrow! bodenknights: @dankiz1 nothing new, expecting things to move on tomorrow, potentially finalised. Jay's camp leaned towards EFC but offer didn't arrive bodenknights: @Zoggers87 @dankiz1 will take turn of events for it not to go through now I think, think Jay is a future England international, will do well bodenknights: @dankiz1 felt EFC would be decent fit in terms of being NW, chance of regular football etc, but seemed reluctant to step up interest bodenknights: @dankiz1 that would be only reason, but was expecting it to be finalised when talks resume tomorrow, EFC would have to be quick
  18. Haha don't say that!! Have faith! JR will be a Saints player!!
  19. I just have a sneaky feeling that all this is is JR's agent putting out this info to make Saints hurry up and get it wrapped up, possibly for more money. This is gonna come back to haunt me but I genuinely cannot see Everton signing him.
  20. Now that WOULD be tapping up!! That surely isn't allowed?
  21. Yeah but surely its an illegal approach? I'm sure the rules and laws state you need to gain permission from the club (i.e. bid accepted) before you are allowed to discuss fees and figures with player + agent?
  22. danbsfc: @footballagentDS What do you know about the Jay R to Saints deal? Everton apparently interested. Still think he'll end up at Saints? footballagentDS: @danbsfc I have heard that Saints preferred choice for JR and should be done early next week And before you guys say anything, this guy is a GENUINE Fifa licensed agent based in Manchester, not some phoney called "South_Agent" or likewise.
  23. Everton's league positions since we got Relegated from the PL in 2004/2005 2005-06 - 11th 2006-07 - 6th 2007-08 - 5th 2008-09 - 5th 2009-10 - 8th 2010-11 - 7th 2011-12 - 7th Flirting with danger? I wish Saints flirt with danger from next season if it results in these league positions! Even last year with Newcastle coming into the equation and Liverpool splashing all of the cash they did, they still managed to finish 7th. A very good achievement with the little money they have.
  24. I just think that although Jack Cork and Danny Fox are both very good players, maybe it has all been part of a long term plan to get these two here to eventually get Jay to join them? We could've easily gone for other LB's and CM's in the division but these 2 are both reportedly good friends with Jay and by having these here, we can then use them in our favour to persuade him to join us?
