Chris Boden says he'd be surprised if the deal fell through now. He thinks its just too late in the day for the Everton bid and he expects it to be confirmed over the weekend at some point. He's even raised the point that Jay knows how much we want him here and questions why Burnley would accept less than the 6.5m we've had accepted.

Tweeting Chris Boden at the Burnley Express. He has said since the last week or so that he expects it to go through this Sunday/Monday. danbsfc: @LT_Suzanne @bodenknights Heard anything re this? http://t.co/DPUiAEvV Just can't see it tbh. Expect Jay to sign for Saints next week? bodenknights: @danbsfc was expecting it to go through this weekend to be honest, Everton had been believed his preference but maybe too late

reluctantnicko: @danbsfc Everton thing complicates it. If player wants to go there then he can force price down. Big gamble though ... reluctantnicko: @danbsfc Everton are in ... and the player knows it. They need another striker. And they must expect to be getting money in.

The latest Nixon Mirror Update. Can't see Everton getting a bid accepted tbh http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/everton-target-jay-rodriguez-the-burnley-867931

What gets me is that he doesn't know what category to put it in? Its either good news or bad news? It can't be both? By the tweet, it sounds like its good news due to the 'but nothing final'. Maybe the terms are all agreed but something to do with an injury found in a medical? Im clutching at straws.

tcumner1986: @reluctantnicko Can you just give us some idea as to what news we can expect...positive/negative reluctantnicko: @tcumner1986 Not sure what category I could put it in. There has been a major development. But nothing final.

Alan Nixon is putting a piece in the Mirror that should hopefully be in there tomorrow but he says it should also be online at around 11pm tonight. We'll see what updates he has on the situation. I'm still expecting it to be concluded on Sunday or Monday.

SimonPeach: Daily Star reporting #WHUFC's Robert Green a target for #SaintsFC. I understand there is some truth to that story.
-
SimonPeach: I am led to believe #SaintsFC are no closer to signing Burnley's Jay Rodriguez. Hard to get to the truth with so many contradicting reports.
-
Tweet from Graham Chase, a journalist based in the north west @gchase1: Latest I heard on Jay Rodriguez was that he'll have talks with Southampton on Sunday. Obviously has a clear idea of what's being offered. @gchase1: The likes of Everton, Villa, Reading just some of those interested but unable or unwilling to match Southampton's offer.
-
Possible? @Fourth_Official: Southampton are closing in on signing Chelsea's Kevin de Bruyne on a season long loan #Saintsfc #CFC

Brilliant shout! Not getting hopes up but seems extremely plausible!!

So do I but i'm to say nothing about it.

A couple of tweets from Peter White, a freelance Sports journalist based on the south coast. Does a bit for the Daily Star, Daily Express etc. peterwhite_1: So which keeper are Saints really after? See tomorrow's Daily Star and Daily Express #saintsfc peterwhite_1: Saints are set to make three or four signings in next couple of weeks reliable sources suggest #saintsfc peterwhite_1: Just having dinner guys then will give you a cryptic clue!!! # #saintsfc -
Its gonna be sooooooo underwhelming. I'm going for Pre season friendly v Colchester.

The concept of the design is, yes. (ie. thin white stripes on a red shirt)
-
I've seen it over the last couple of days! Won't be long before it ends up in the Echo claiming to be a 'leaked' design of next years kit haha! Considering I know the exact design now, it's quite funny to see people treat the design like it's the final shirt!

Well we can now expect to definitely see 1 or 2 CB's arrive for the season now Martin has joined Palace on loan. -
Well it does seem a pretty stupid tweet considering numerous media outlets, including the local Burnley rag and the Echo, have said he is down today for a medical and Nixon on Twitter says he's here with a decision to be made by tonight. But who knows?
-
I give up. SimonPeach: Led to believe Burnley's Jay Rodriguez is not having a medical at #SaintsFC today, contrary to reports.

A few whispers from Burnley fans saying the deal is only around 4 - 4.5m upfront with the rest in instalments. Sounds pretty sensible if you ask me.
