  1. Overall Guly has scored 22 goals in 85 appearances for Saints. For a wide midfielder who rarely plays through the middle, that is a pretty decent return.
  2. I think the key to Guly is very much a mental issue. When he is up for it and is on his game, at times he is superb and lots of teams cannot track him or stop him. However, this is not often enough. I feel he gets slated too often and too harshly for a poor touch or misplaced pass but I can remember numerous times last season when Lambert or Lallana mistouched it or played a wrong pass but gets applauded for the idea whereas Guly gets slaughtered from all parts of the ground. But, when he is in the right frame of mind and often when on the right wing, it gives him a freedom to drift in, link up with the RB and Lambert and run the channels and often see quite a bit of the ball. We know he can score goals (as proven last year and in L1) and this is where he suits the position of the RM role. He is definitely a confidence player and when you get grumbles and murmurs of discontent around the game, you can see he gets frustrated and tries to do things that when he's on his game, he can do but when he's ****ed off because of , it all goes wrong. I don't know how you can say he was average in L1 and awful in the Championship?! Numerous times in L1 he looked a class above with his little touches and flair play but didn't score many goals i agree. Maybe this was something to do with the fact he couldn't speak English and may have found it slightly hard settling in. In the Championship, he simplified his game but scored goals and he still gets slated? I must be mad because I'm sure I can remember him scoring some good goals, creating chances, assisting in attacks? At the start of last season, he was a KEY player to our system and a lot of the time, caused the opposition plenty of problems. I never said he'd be awesome in the Prem but I just feel like many other players, who have stepped up the levels over the years that people didn't think would make it, he would suit it better as games are much more stretched and open and he's a clever player. He'll find the space, get in the holes but he'll definitely be a very good member of the 25 man squad.
  3. Even though Ince has developed brilliantly over the last year, I just feel the PL would be too much too quick. As an investment, yes go get him, but for a regular RM spot, no way not yet. Id prefer Matt Phillips out of the 2. Has more about his game and gets in, around and beyond the strikers to chip in with goals (similar to Guly) and I think those 2 (Phillips & Guly) would be good options for RM next season.
  4. You can upload even if your just registered. Upload it to somewhere like Imageshack or Tinypic and then post the link.
  5. Your virtually there going by the info that's been provided on this thread
  6. Why not? He can play on the right wing and would fit our current system brilliantly. He'd keep the width, bit of pace and join in and drift in to link up with attacks. I'd take him for £1m. Without doubt.
  7. Confirmed. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2822536,00.html Chelsea Trip Postponed. Wonder when it'll get rearranged for.
  8. He needs to have a brilliant season next season to stand any chance IMO. Look how good Jarvis was over the course of his 'brilliant' season and he only got the 1 chance as a sub to prove his England ability. Whilst these big names and big earners are at the current age, I can't see many others being tried or tested over the next couple of years. It will be the same group of players under-perfoming each time until the 'golden generation' move on.
  9. Interesting... I thought it was due to be unveiled on Saturday at 9am? That picture says Friday at 6pm? http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2805126,00.html
  10. It wasn't a pretend agent, it was a football journalist/reporter for Sky. @SkyGraemeBailey Maybe this Sivok is the exciting transfer?
  11. I've got a feeling it was similar priced for last year but slightly more expensive this time around.
  12. Summed up Young's tournament. Poor throughout and really don't know why Chambo or Theo didn't get more of a chance ahead of him and Milner but I suppose they're both key to Roy's formation & tactics. On the plus side, cannot wait now for the new PREMIER LEAGUE season!! Wont properly sink in for real until I get the shirt this coming weekend with the Prem badges on it!! Bring it on!
  13. Wasn't really an 'expected' more of a 'lets see, who knows?'. Got a feeling we'll see at least 1 more this week before pre-season starts Friday but no more that that.
  14. This is now one I can see happening. No transfer fee involved and he'll be on about 30k a week to be highest paid player. Bargain IMO.
  15. Little bit going around on Twitter about Owen Hargreaves. Then I found this from yesterday. http://www.caughtoffside.com/2012/06/22/southampton-eye-risky-deal-for-injury-plagued-owen-hargreaves/ If we could get him fit, would be a phenomenal signing. I just think no matter how good Adkins or our sport science staff are, if City couldn't get him fit, then we don't stand much chance to be honest.
  16. I know this guy and this is typical him. He is just a joker. Simple. I didn't know about these comments until a few days after he posted them but they were all just for a 'laugh'. He was simply joking around and thats the way everything in his life goes. Very harsh sentence IMO but now that he's been jailed, it sends out a message to others who will now think twice about writing any comments like this in future.
  17. Isn't that when the International transfer window opens?
  18. A fan on Twitter is adamant that Michu is signing next week for £6m even though it can't be confirmed until the 1st July. Keep an eye on @MasterCGraves account to see if he says anymore.
  19. Sone Aluko has rejected the transfer of his contract from Rangers to NewCo (The Rangers FC). Means he'll be available on a free. CHDAJFU? Who knows, maybe once one rejects it, you may see a few more reject it, i.e Davis?
  20. Funny as I always thought he was a CM but their fans seem to suggest he is better when playing right mid. Say he had a great cross and he is wasted at CM. Could he be coming here to sort our RM out or challenge and compete for a CM role?
  21. http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/9771448.Saints_to_revamp_St_Mary_s_/? And there we go. Im surprised its not a 'Daily Echo EXCLUSIVE'.
  22. But he is costing them 13m over 4 years of his contract - works out at 65k p/w. Ouch. See the same method worked well for QPR last season...
  23. Noticed that also!! As you said, gonna be interesting!
  24. There we go: Ryandickson23: @BenHamer21 cant beat playing though mate frustrated ant the word! Just can't understand not wanted so let me play else where! Basically saying that he knows he isn't wanted here so why keep him? No benefit to him or club.
