  1. Given that you repeatedly claim that many British Muslim women face unreasonable pressure to wear them and the whole system is oppressive, I simply asked for evidence that this is indeed the case. It’s not unreasonable to ask for evidence given it is so central to your argument. All you’ve offered in the way of evidence is the same anecdote about your wife’s cousin and a dime-a-dozen talking head.
  2. Iran and Saudi Arabia are red herrings and irrelevant to the conversation - we’re talking about the UK, a liberal democracy which protects individual self-determination. Sure some women may feel pressure to wear them just as some choose to do so. Indeed for some wearing the burka and niqab has become an act of political expression, if not individual defiance. And yes I know Muslims too.
  3. Do you have evidence that women who wear a niqab or burka in this country are forced to do so?
  4. Is this like when Reed flew out to get rojo?
  5. As the Times columnist Janice Turner notes “How is legitimising insulting Bangladeshi women in the street helping them escape the tyranny of conservative Islam?”. Or as Hugo Rifkind puts it “It's a very well-pitched dog whistle. Plenty of liberals are uncomfortable defending religious dress. So he exploits that while adding a little jovial racist barb for the actual dogs he's after“. Anyone who can’t see Johnson’s cynical ruse for what it is is either dim or something else.
  6. I didn’t realise the referendum happened in July 2017.
  7. Where has John's daily chart showing the £ vs. $ gone? It's mysteriously disappeared.
  8. The ECB embarked on QE much much later than the BoE - it introduced its first wave of QE only in 2015: “better late than never”, as the Economist put it at the time. In March 2016, the ECB was still playing catch-up. By contrast, with the UK much further along the cycle, the expectation was that there would be no fresh stimulus until Brexit forced the BoE’s hand. JJ, you can’t help but make a tit of yourself, can you pal?

  11. He must have his eye on a stannah stairlift or something if he’s prepared to sell low on the club poster boy. What happens when you stop buying and breeding success?
  12. Can’t see the headteacher’s pet leaving.
  13. Pellegrino played JWP more than any other manager.

  15. And the conclusion I take is that he starts less than one in every two games which isn’t a lot given the emphasis on rotation.
  16. So anti-Muslim prejudice which flies under the Islamophobia banner is opportunism then. So when Tory councillors (among others) happily share and cite articles referring to Muslims as parasites, calls of Islamophobia are just a ruse to deflect criticism from the religion. And I thought it was good old-fashioned racism. Thanks for clearing things up.
  17. Is a deep-lying playmaker - what we thought we were getting with Clasie, a poor man's Pirlo or an upmarket Safri. Absent that we have PEH and his sideways passing to look forward to.
  18. I wouldn't want to be in JJ's lab as he attempted a dosage calculation, that's for sure
  19. Probably will turn out to be better than Hoj.
  20. Is it really? Delegation involved in the drafting and/or dissemination of definition keen to protect said definition. What a shocker.
  21. Don’t get jihadi john started again. Please...
  22. Who can forget Soggy playing the Fergie card when arguing Pellegrino should be given more time. This was at a time when even a blindman could see the writing was on the wall. In a parallel universe, somewhere, Pellegrino is leading us to a treble as we speak. Or maybe not
