  1. Where do you think we’ll finish adrian? 6th, 7th, 8th? All that was holding us back was Pellegrino according to you.
  2. Let’s be clear: we signed VVD in 2015 -Maguire and Ndidi were signed in 2017. If this model is to be sustainable, we can’t rest on former glories (ditto with Bertrand and Cedric who, at any rate, are unlikely to command much of a premium relative to their replacement cost). The fact is that we’ve now singularly whiffed in the transfer market for 2-3 years. At the very least, we can’t have resources locked up in players who, right now, have no prospect of returning the fee we paid for them. With little talent coming through the Academy, where is the money going to come from to strengthen some pretty glaring holes in the squad?
  3. They’ve also bought some decent players who’ll eventually go for big money -Maguire and N’didi being prime examples. Issue isn’t that we have bought duds -everyone does; the challenge is to hit jackpot with one or two players that can underwrite the misses and support further investment -something we’ve spectacularly failed to do in recent years.
  4. I hear Paul Chuckle is looking for a new sidekick.
  5. Ringo, i didn't realise you were so passionate about antisemitism.
  6. Interesting to see how Bielsa gets on with Leeds.
  7. Come on, you’ll never ever be critical of Austin. You’re the ultimate fanboy.
  8. Just wait till Burnley park the DOUBLE DECKER and nick a goal on the BREAK.
  9. Switch to a back 4 - the one holding midfielder in 3-5-2 doesn’t give us a strong enough foothold in the centre of the park as England discovered in the WC - never mind the CBs aren’t mobile enough to cover space if the wingbacks are exposed. However unappealing, Romeu and Hoj seem the natural pairing at the base of midfield. Lemina is not disciplined enough. Perhaps Reed’s time has come because Hoj has shown very little. At least Romeu has shown quality in the past. The situation is not ideal. Gabbi and Austin don’t click. Gabbi goes missing when he’s dropping deep and needs to play on the shoulder if he plays. When we’ve successfully played a 4-2-3-1, our no.10 has always beeen a compromise between defence and attack. That’s why the safety-first Davis was always preferred. Armstrong seems the obvious choice but Lemina also has the tools to play there. Personally think it’s his natural position and he’d flourish there. We’ve still not addressed the lack of pace in the side - it’s probably why I’d persist with Remond (even if he’s not terribly pacy) with Mou on the other side.
  10. Les too it would seem.
  11. Lighthouse is on the morning curry diet.
  12. She maybe incompetent and arrogant (the worst combo) but some of the abuse she’s received has been disgusting.
  13. Wages to turnover is the better metric.
  14. Thats not Armstrong’s best position and he’d probably give less protection than Lemina and Hoj there.
  15. The improvement might have had nothing to do with the system. Playing with greater intensity certainly helped.
  16. He's now in charge of season ticket distribution and marketing supposedly.
  17. It's still preseason. Give Cabbage Face time.
  18. Maybe it helps also having more bodies in midfield than trying to shoehorn Gabbi and Austin in the side as you insist.
  19. Germans are taking the pîss.
  20. Freedom of the park to run through there.
  21. Austin and Gabbi don't work. They've not really clicked in the past. No reason to think they will now. Need one of Redmond, JWP and Mou in there linking midfield and attack.
  22. Hoj is terrible on the ball.
  23. Forster not on the bench?
