Terrorist Attacks - WARNING: CONTAINS DISTRESSING IMAGES
shurlock replied to sadoldgit's topic in The Lounge
Thanks for citing the Beinart article. You obviously approve of it and may even believe it supports your position. Therefore you should pause and read the author's follow-up article before you make yourself look any sillier. It dismantles efforts to compare the violence of antifa and the violence of white supremacists. In short, it echoes most of the things I (and others have) said on the previous page https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2017/08/what-trump-gets-wrong-about-antifa/537048/ I could point you to other articles on the subject (which you'd dismiss as fake news because it doesn't come from a 400-pound halfwit on YouTube or rattle through your favourite hobby horses -why is every minor controversy on a university campus a national emergency for you and many on the alt-right?). Alternatively I could point you to some classic essays on the myth of moral equivalence (but let's walk before we run). Anyway hope the article puts things in perspective. Always happy to help a poster in need -and you're plainly struggling. Still we're all capable of growth and enlightenment pal -
Terrorist Attacks - WARNING: CONTAINS DISTRESSING IMAGES

More muddled drivel from the forum's Poundland Piers Morgan. -
Yep the phrase is deliberate. The EU isn't just about trade. It was originally set up to prevent great power conflict. A victim of its own success it has expanded to solve challenges -from terrorism through climate change to economic spillovers that do not respect national boundaries. I have no problem with the limited pooling of sovereignty in these circumstances. Alas too many have a pampered and entitled view of history to recognise how fragile these benefits are.
-
You realise that the paperwork is kept to a minimum because it applies the same regulation that underpins the single market? What happens when the EU adds or updates it's regulatory standards? Will the UK mirror whatever comes out of the EU to maintain regulatory convergence in the future? How does that constitute taking back control? Or will the UK strike its own regulatory path in the area of pesticides and fungicides #cheapjunk (among other things) in which case you can damn well expect an explosion of customs checks to ensure that fruit and veg imported into the EU conform to EU standards?
-
He'll be off next season - current contract runs until 2020, making next summer the optimal time to sell if we want to maximise the transfer fee. Assuming VVD stays another season, next summer will be quite an important window.

Perhaps they trade less with each other than they would do if they had some of these things. Evidence suggests that this is indeed the case.

Get in 1-2

Virgil must be licking his lips. Scouters breaking into a rendition of ring of fire.

Like cars and aerospace?
-
If only the world was as simple as peddling fruit and veg, right pal?

Good lad. In less important news, Brexit customs plan threatens to increase obstacles to trade. Business faces greater red tape under proposals set out by the government. So glad we're freeing ourselves from the dead hand and dirigisme of the EU. https://www.ft.com/content/25e8643c-81b4-11e7-a4ce-15b2513cb3ff

Good to hear pal - I know you have a few contacts in and around the game, especially north of the border. Just hoping Always hasn't sent you any pics this time.

Done any interviews for Sky, 5Live, Talksport on your thoughts yet? Must be a deluge of PMs coming in.

Agree the level of detail raises red flags as does the seeming comprehensiveness of his knowledge -unless the source is very high up and oversees many functions at the club (arguably rare). Still he does openly admit where he's adding his interpretation and filling in the gaps.

What leads you to believe Tom28 is talking bull****?

What about Milo (as every Fox News pundit likes to say) The Berkeley protests were reported everywhere while Milo got his 15mins of fame until he blew it again with his paedophilia comments. For someone who tries to maintain the pretence of being independent and evenhanded, you do have a canny habit of falling back on the same alt-right dog whistles and hobby horses. Strange! -

Like a fly to s**t, you flocked to Trump's original statement and attempted to defend it. Virtually everyone else called it out for what it was. Perhaps you're incredibly naive but the meaning of the statement was lost on no one, including white supremacist groups who openly welcomed its mealy-mouthed evasiveness. And please stop invoking false equivalencies like some giddy little sixth former taking a philosophy or politics class for the first time. I know it's straight out of the alt right playbook to blur neonazism, white supremacy and the 'authoritarian left' (never mind you haven't got a clue what the latter means). But you just come across as more craven and ignorant than you already appear. Let's be clear: are there problems with the likes of antifa and BLM and their methods? Absolutely. Do I condone violence in countries with already strong protections for peaceful protest? No. Do I dislike some of the hypocrisy on the left as it challenges some groups while seemingly turning a blind eye to others? Definitely yes. But notwithstanding this, counterprotest movements are on a fundamentally different level from groups associated with ideologies that espouse racial supremacy and are responsible for some of the darkest chapters in the 20th century -never mind accounting for the vast majority of recent attacks in the US. Read a history book and get some perspective. Better still stick to your day job and running a nursery or whatever it is you do. -

Why the pussyfooting? What he says about the new owne is correct, though as Mark Dreyer says, Gao wouldn't be the first crook to oversee an English club.
-
How many continental clubs buy players from the PL? Doesn't seem like it would be a big problem in practice.

A new customs arrangement that looks and feels the same as the current customs union but technically not a customs union. The old switcheroo https://www.ft.com/content/b58ca3b6-811c-11e7-a4ce-15b2513cb3ff
