A few US shows that have caught the eye: Eastbound and Down - Louie Both are comedies - Eastbound and Down has elements of a good Will Ferrell film and stars Danny McBride as a burned out former Baseball star. Like a redneck version of Alan Partridge. Louie is also funny - how edgy, liberal-baiting humour should be done. Just finished watching Homeland, like a thinking man's 24. About a former US marine who returns from Iraq and is suspected of plotting a terrorist attack against the US. Not a bad way to kill a few hours.

He fought the Boj and the Boj won. Throwing your toys around on the internet is cringeworthy stuff. Dozy c*nt should know better.

Was pretty poor at Burnley on loan but worth a look for his pace alone. -

Got to be the greatest myth about Lambert. Love the guy to bits but hes not a not an opportunist or a right time right place kind of striker. When was the last time Lambert genuinely scored one of those goals - say he got in front of a defender and slid one in at the near post or smashed one into the bottom corner? His movement in the box is not particularly instinctive or elusive - usually involves lumbering at the far post, that is, if he's even in the box and hasn't pulled out wide. -
Missed the boat. Was worth a shout in the summer -and unlike most of the clubs that have joined feeding frenzy, we've known for a long time what he can do. But not at today's prices.

It really is time to bring back the death penalty
shurlock replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Lounge
The death penalty isnt the ultimate sanction or punishment. Solitary confinement is harsher. -
His interview re. visas/work permits is on the 12th, so unlikely to be any news before then.

The Animals "House of the Rising Sun" would work nicely: There is a player in southampton He's called tadanari lee He's been the ruin of many a poor team And soon you'll all agree He'll play upfront with Rickie Bang them in for fun He'll drink sake, hate pompey All for southampton http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mmdPQp6Jcdk

How about a "is it really time time to bring back the death penalty thread" FFS. Subject's been done to death on here. -
Tadanari woah, tadanari woah He can't tell l from r; but he's a f**king star
-
Would be an excellent choice; probably too sophisticated for most of this lot. Worth a go though.

We took a fair few to Northampton a couple of years ago, a similar distance to Coventry (and we had already played them in the Carling Cup). Coventry and the Ricoh Cemetery have to be one of the worst away days full stop. The cup has definitely lost some appeal but there are special circumstances this year (league priorities etc) and it doesn't take a lot to revive some interest.

Tadanari woah, tadanari woah He played for Hiroshima; he'll drop a bomb on yer

His interview for a work permit/visa is on the 12th.

Miliband is still a goggly-eyed dweeb but its a wrong to say he has no narrative. He took a gamble at Conference and it appears to be paying off of sorts. Glasman's just bitter. His nanosecond of fame has expired and he's back to fermenting revolution in Crouch End.
-
I have it on good authority that the Tories intend to steal some of Labour's language and arguments about responsible capitalism and predators and producers. Miliband's conference speech was mocked but supposedly these ideas have been polling well with focus groups and the Tories are worried. If anything some of his strategy has been too successful -and they want to seize this territory.

I know his background - spoke to the lad myself Came across as very Japanese to me (reportedly his Korean is so-so). Just makes the song forced and is more needless manc worshipping.
-
The Japanese don't eat dogs - they're as surprised and shocked as the rest of us that some Koreans do. At least, get your stereotypes right

Tuesday Terminal 3 Heathrow.

No chance - told me it was a formality

Definitely out. One player who I'm glad is on the Ravens rather than Texans side is Vonta Leach. Worked wonders for Foster, now doing the same for Rice. Probably my favourite unsung player, a proper, old-fashioned fullback who rarely carries the ball or complains but gets a buzz from hitting people and clearing blockers. An absolute beast.

Isn't it the printing company Markus acquired quite late on - even then it was on its knees, so its no real surprise that Mali wasn't able to turn it around.

Would make sense - they were within a c*nt's hair of signing him last window http://www.tribalfootball.com/articles/frustrated-leeds-boss-misses-out-deadline-day-signings-1859841

Maybe because he told me over coffee and what with the japanese press reports the club knew the cat was out of the bag
