My two penneth as someone who has spent a life in marketing... 1. Design is subjective. One man's Olympic logo is another man's turd. 2. The designer often doesn't get what he wanted or intended due to a client thinking they know best and disastrously altering a concept. 3. It's not always easy to judge something in one medium (print/screen) when it is intended for another (embroidery) - simple things like colours cannot be replicated in different media exactly. 4. Something new is always difficult to accept. People say 'why can't we have a logo like Coca Cola'. You can, just go back 100 years, design it and then spend billions of dollars promoting it... 5. Never ask the public for a concensus. The public don't know what works and doesn't in design terms, just what they 'like'. As an example, who would have thought an orange square was a good brand for a telephone company... And who would have voted for it? 6. Personally, I don't like it.

Totaly, always gave his all. Thanks from me, it's just that we can afford better. Someone will benefit from that!

I've been mildly disappointed by him on occasion as I was led to believe he was a box to box dynamo with plenty of goals in him... not really what I've seen. Puts himself about but seems to blow hot and cold to me.
-
Are we playing today? FWIW I agree on Thomas and Perry but James no long fits because he doesn't have a position - where would you play him? I like the lad and think he's underrated but Gareth Bale he isn't. What this says to me is that Pardew gave NC an ultimatum of sorts: I will accept your target of winning the league - now let me get on with it and back me fully.
-
Top top man and player. Would make an oustanding defensive coach - professional, timing, positioning, he's been a class act.
-
Maybe because he knows full well: 1. If he says no comment it means he's about to fire Pardew. 2. If he says he supports Pardew it will be reported as the 'dreaded vote of confidence'. And what other choices does he have, given that we are talking about someone's livelihood and contract?? We have a scum press in this country that sadly half the population deserve. What happened to reporting events? What happened to exposing scandal and wrongdoing? What happened to truth, justice and the British way?????

Dear Reader, Thank you for your comments and concerns. In common with all media channels in the UK, the Echo is a cynical beast that reflects the nasty suspicious circle of news reporting spawned by Alistair Campbell over the past 13 years. Spin and counter spin sell papers, you should know that. Nobody buys papers that print good news and even when they do, such is their own sense of distrust that they would prefer to believe the bad than good. We can't help that for more than a decade you have been treated as a moron by the incumbent government who have removed your personal liberty, responsibility and undermined your own good judgement. However, with the dawn of a new era of optimism, perhaps we can all look forward with open minds and unity? If it sells any papers, we'll let you know. Kind regards Daily Echo Editor

Preparing for the Olympics in the Premeirship is my guess!

Pardew and board to meet Thursday now...?
Legod Third Coming replied to saint lard's topic in The Saints
Apart from promotion form since 1st October and WINNING THE CLUB'S FIRST TROPHY FOR 34 F U CK ING YEARS How exactly is a bloke supposed to demonstrate his commitment? FOR F U C K S SAKE. What is wrong with some of our fans? Thank God for Clegg and Cameron, let's put an end to the feckwit society and approach the rest of life with modern optimism and intelligence. -
So do Norwich, Leeds and Millwall fans...

I've asked him to represent me with the remuneration committee.

Yep.

Best post on this subject bar none.

Thank you! I think this argument is evidence of a failing within our fan base and society to appreciate what we have, rather than what we yearn for... Here we are, with a proven 30 goal a year man (two seasons running) who has shown no reluctance to play, an iron heart, a steel will and a commitment to our task beyond question. Yet half a dozen would ditch him for a hairband wearing superstar on the basis that he could probably tear up the league, assuming he was motivated, interested and not stretched out on the treatment table having a cucumber body mask and a nice deep tissue facial... Welcome to the new age of responsibility folks!
-
So a man who had over £280m invested in his team and still went down can now save West Ham...
-
Shame. I predict he will go on to be a very good manager.

Most of the posts on the future of Pardew, I reckon. No quotes. No news. No facts. Just total 100% conjecture.

Look, there is no doubt who is the better footballer, no doubt at all. Whether Torres could cope with the way we play football is my question. Is he a hold up player, target man who can muscle his way through the area on the end of a long ball? Doesn't look like that to me? He gets time and the sort of passing he could only dream about in this league. One early crunching tackle on August 5th and he'd be bed warming. Why are we even debating this nonsensical argument. Are we thinking of signing him, and Messi maybe?
-
Totally, let's be honest who knew of Dan Harding?
-
Right, so we see Torres scoring a hatrick at Tranmere in a bog do we?
-
No, racing is racing. Thousands of horses progress from flat to jumps - hundreds run under both codes each season. The points is this league requires something totally different to skipping about for a dozen games on billiard tables. It requires stamina - which Lambert clearly has and Torres clearly hasn't. If Torres had played 50 games for Liverpool and scored 30 goals I would say sign him up.
-
This season he has played 20 games for Liverpool? Lambert has played 50+? Don't they teach maths any more? Fecking Labour government.
-
The problem is that Torres would not get the service, would not be able to hold the ball up against the kind of centre backs in this league and I genuinely doubt whether he would play more than 15 games. Look, who was the better horse - Nijinski or Red Rum? One could win the Triple Crown but in a million years he could not have won the Grand National!!
-
Yes, in this league. Rickie Lambert scored 30 goals, Torres wouldn't get 10. Now, if you're asking me who should play up front for Spain or Chelsea, different question. But Torrres cannot cope with 20 Premiership home games, how the hell could he cope with 50 games in this league and the JPT? Football is like racing - horses for courses.
