  2. is it me or is that a snow penis?
  3. How fecking big is his head??!!!!!!
  4. Swindon??? Are you David Brent... Brighton ??? Are you a poooof... Oh, and Pompey are being relegated (or made bust in which case cheerio John and you know what you can do with that fecking bell) and we are being promoted. Simples. Which is what I fear you might be.
  5. Ah, but you're talking post M1 extension and have still taken no account of the M25 widening... Luton's natural rival is Watford. Our natural rival in this league is Exeter. Next year it will be Pompey again, assuming they are not out of business altogether...
  6. Don't believe what you read in the NoTW or on RAC.com...
  7. Local derby numpty.
  8. Quite right. What exactly should Lallana have been doing today?? Playing golf or Wii fit??? So he had to play 90 minutes. Let him have the rest of the week off if he's tired. That's seven full days to recover. Footballers are like racehorses. They can either run up the hill at home or on the racetrack. The difference being, you get feck all for running up a hill...
  9. And that was waterlogging! Which I'm not sure you can 'heat off'...
  10. The guy is employed to score goals. He scores them. End of. Anyone who criticises him is a complete t o s s e r of the highest order and should be banned from Saint Mary's and made to go and watch the bankrupts.
  11. Ah t'would explain it!!!!
  12. Ricky, Ricky, Ricky, Ricky, la, la, la la, laaaa, laaa... (to the tune of Ruby by the well known Kaiser Chefs)
  13. I'm in Yorkshire and this is working, how come??!!! Never works in bloody Walton on Thames...
  14. Who can you do? Michael Caine, Frank Spencer, Janet Street Pawter...
  15. I am no fan of Pompey but their fans don't deserve this in the same way we didn't and nor did Luton's. The real lesson here is one for football but which it will not learn, sadly, I want Pompey to fail on the pitch not off it. I want to beat them because we are the better team.
  16. I can't remember when it was but I remember watching Foster rake Ray Wallace and then Ray get sent off in retaliation... Since then I have hated Luton (although I feel very, very sorry for their fans after recent events). Still hate them though!!!
  17. What an idiot. E-mail me one this morning then...
  18. Beckford on his way to Newcastle...
  19. I think Thomas and Jaidi could work. I haven't really seen Thomas do anything wrong this season, just be kept out of the side by people in form...
  20. Who, Durham?
  21. Before it came out that WGS was on his way, we were on fire. Then it came out he was going at the seasons' end - and that was that. He couldn't go on, his position was untenable. It actually came out from memory the day we went to Old Trafford and Lowe afterwards said and I quote "We are looking for a manager who can come here and win"... Which was not only totally disrespectful to the man in the job (WGS) but set me up to believe we were about to appoint a top class proven manager... hmmm.
  22. From 4th place in the Premiership??!!!!
  23. I thought that Cortese had some experience in sport when he was in banking? But whether he did or not, I think the approach they have taken shows that they understand football considerably better than Rupert did (although it is patently early days). Like you, I don't think he was the devil incarnate, but many of his decisions were baffling and in later years downright bizarre. The latter of these contributed directly to relegation and the former sure didn't help. It is summed up for me by Le Tiss when he says we paid £1m for a radio station and sold it for £1... For me, this was always Rupert's problem - an inability to understand that first and foremost football is about the 11 players on the park and the more you pay them the better they will be, the better your team will be and the more likely you are to be successful. This investment around the fringes deprived the club of decent players that would themselves have increased revenue by virtue of success of the pitch. We paid £1m for a radio station but never more than £4m on a player. That is quite telling and shows the balance of where Rupert believed it was best to invest. We never invested fresh capital in the team (only recycled revenue from sales) yet we invested fresh capital all over the shop on frippery. The history of football shows that if you invest in the team, most often it will create the revenue you need, not vice versa. We may not like it, but it's true.
  24. If we do not go up this year, there is no guarantee that we will go up next season either. We will be facing three relegated Championship teams (we are one this year) and the best of those who do not go up this year which will include at least three of the current top six (if not more). Either we can beat these teams or we can't. If we can't beat them now/this season, why can we next season? That assumes that we are the only team with the capacity to improve and I don't believe that's true. We might be the one with the deepest pockets but as yesterday proved that counts for feck all... I think our best chance of going up is this season. We have momentum and we have the squad. Next season we would lose at least one if not all of: Lallana, Waigo, Lambert, Hammond, James, Davis, Bart, Harding... These players are committed to the cause now, but that's because they can see light at the end of the tunnel!
