  1. Sure, but where are Leeds?? And how long have they been here? We FINALLY have signed a proven manager. We have FINALLY given him some resources. He has inherited a bag a shyte. In fact, five years of accumulated shyte. Managers build football clubs. Let him build it.
  2. Ahh, the famous eye-gym... so all our players could identify the fan they hit with the ball in row z...
  3. But the size or our club means nothing on the pitch - the 'reputation' means our opposition work harder against us! What will count more is doing all those things the 'big' clubs have done so well - appointing a proven manager and backing him... We've done that for the first time since 2000, let's see how it pans out...
  4. Some are simply too inexperienced. Some are not good enough. Some might be. Some never will. Poor old Pards now has to try and establish which. That's the waste of changing manager every ten minutes. Finally we have to let a bloke who seems to know what he's talking about assess our squad, ditch the tripe, work with the raw and bring in the new.
  5. Who are people comparing our players to? We are in League One. Most of them look like League One standard players. This is not the Champion's League. They can't hit passes accurately. They can't do the things we expect every time. That's as good as they are.
  6. Did you see all the empty seats at Wigan? And they were playing Manure. The recession biteth! We'll have even more when we can spin a few wins together.
  7. oh to have a Keegan back scoring for us...
  8. Look around... People talk about us having a Premiership infrastructure, being a 'big club' in this league. It's nonsense. What we have is more bricks than Bristol, a bigger training-projector than Peteborough and more seats than Swindon. We have NO infrastructure worth having before Pardew builds it. We had poor coaches, poor training regime, poor management, poor tactics, poor players and p!ss-poor mental attitude. THESE are what win Manchester United titles, not the three tier stand and direct tramlink from Stretford....
  9. Yesterday was nowhere near the shambles that unfolded last season. It wasn't fast, flowing, creative football. But then we haven't played that since 1981.
  10. Depends, does she sleep in the front or back bedroom...
  11. 1. Teams who have been beaten regularly, suffer a lack of confidence. 2. Teams who have been promoted have been winning regularly and therefore do not lack confidence. Just thought this was worth pointing out for those people who say "it was only Brentford ffs..." 3. There is no such thing as a 'big club' just deluded fans who think the footprint of the stadium or some historic achievements confer a divine right to victory. 4. To expect to win because of the size of the stadium and number of fans in the seats is bordering on clinically insane. Otherwise, Jenson Button would be better off this afternoon driving a number 38 from Bitterne Central...
  12. You're right, let's fire Pardew. After all who has he signed who was better than what we had?
  13. By one point.
  14. We started this season with some pretty ropey footballers, ten points adrift of every other club. You might have thought these facts would have permeated even the thickest brain. Three weeks ago we had a mountain to climb. Guess fecking what? We still have.
  15. Where were Hull after 8 games last season I wonder and Spurs?? hmmmm....
  16. Charlton, perhaps you noticed, appointed Phil Parkinson and then let him go 20 odd games without a win... oh...
  17. Six of this team were not good enough to win more than 2 games at home last season. When the only players remaining from last season are the ones who can play football AND have the strength of MENTALITY to WIN football matches, then we have a chance.
  18. Why do we have a divine right to beat anyone in this league, or any league in fact?
  19. Just been out on the town with a Hammer. His take? Pardew started quite quietly and made some bizarre choices in selection and tactics. He thinks he was simply trying to suss out the team to see who could play where and how. Laughed when he saw our results and thought we would react the same way they did = wondering if Pards has any tactical nous!! Stick with him, he said, and you'll see him strengthen in the right areas. Have to say that you can't argue that he has seen two of our problems and attempted to fix them - Lambert and Hammond. I feel a bit more positive - not that I was in the pitchfork brigade...
  20. Been asleep for the past four years then...
  21. It's one thing to make a mistake once in a while, every week, mutliply is not quite so easy to stomach!
  22. I didn't expect us to waltz this league - in my heart I dreamed it of course, I'm a fan after all. What I do expect, and I expect no less from every person on earth, is effort - the maximum permissible. Our players are not good enough on the whole - we know that. But it is amazing what organisation and discipline can do for even the least skilful player - especially when that player applies hard work to compensate for talent. Organisational drills at set-pieces should be child's play for a professional footballer really. If they're not capable of simple marking, well...
  23. Dont know about you, but they're sending me plenty of texts to that effect...
  24. What's important here is that we now make progress fecking quickly, because we know we have players with ZERO confidence, and the longer this goes on, the worse those players will get and the only option will be to buy 22 new ones.
  25. I agree. WE NEED a MIDFIELD GENERAL. We have done for five years mind and no one seems to care...
