My view is we should keep it outside the ground to before and after games. But I have seen teams win with crowds doing nothing, supporting and rioting. I have seen teams lose with them doing likewise. The Rupert Lowe supportes are making the point repeatedly and WRONGLY that the fans are at fault in team performances. WHEN we are relegated they will then point at the fans and accuse THEM of being complicit in our demise. This is the same as accusing Woolworths' customers of being responsible for their business failure. Why didn't they spend more?? WE are not remotely to blame for the ludicrous position in which our club finds itself. No one on this forum picked a manager with no experience, sent our best players out on loan or compunded any of that by firing one inept manager and replacing him with a worse one!!!

And the other 30... -
Nick I agree that I don't want to see fighting, and I always try and sing myself hoarse - I do not think we disagree here at all. But the sad truth is that the continual laying of the blame at fans door simply diverts the attention from the real issues: 1. Mismanagement of the club at all levels. 2. A squad who are not very good, badly organised and lacking confidence and fitness. I wish that we could galvanize the fans to lift the team, but on myriad occassions this year when we have created a great atmosphere it has been let down badly by the playing staff. The reality is that fans who see players run, chase, harry and tackle do clap and cheer them. The cause begets the symptoms, not vice versa. We had 32000 there against United and played like drains. What should I do? Run on the pitch and whisper words of encouragement?? I hate players being abused during games - truly I do. But there is something to be said for why Colin Mongomerie has never won a major - because he can't hack fan abuse - and Harrington who has two, because he's simply mentally tougher. A good manager can use any atmosphere to win matches. Ricky Ponting took a cutting from KP into the dressing room saying the Aussies were over-rated, pinned it to a wall, said nothing and sat back as they won the Ashes 5-0!!! Motivation MUST first and foremost be in the hands of the manager, coaches and captain. And they continually let us down. To ask for fans to keep giving in such circumstances is a bit naive I fear? Most do, but are continually frustrated by ineptitude on and off the pitch.

Cobblers Nick, that's a rewriting of history. At half time they were sombre and started having a laugh. There was gallows humour, but it was not their fans who created the win, it was the total capitulation of our team. You need to understand that 99% of times the spirit in the stands reflect the game and not vice versa... Again, tell me what happened when the fans supported against Doncaster? We conceded twice. Tell me what happened when they started fighting and jeering? We scored. How does this square with your theory that it's my fault we are losing??
-
Team wins or is playing well - support is good. Team plays poorly or is obviously going to lose - support is bad. ANY team, anywhere in the world. Leeds away support when they were 3-0 down to us was diabolical. When they scored 4 it got considerably louder, funny that... The vocal quality of our support is a reflection of the way our team is being mismanaged, mis-formulated and mis-directed.

Yes, right now what the team needs is me shouting louder and not: 1. The recall of our only natural fit winger. 2. The recall of either of the strikers who scored 50 odd goals between them over two season. 3. A right back. 4. A manager with experience of THIS division. Sorry to have cost us our status in the Championship, I'll shut up and accept relegation now. -
I take it back. I am stunned.

Look, I just cannot believe all this nonsense. Professional athletes eat a balanced diet and fast food has no place within a balanced diet. Maybe Pizzas prepared by the club chef so he can guarantee all natural ingredients, freshly prepared?? But from Pizza Hut?? Nothing against them - but sugars, additives? Who knows what's in there - HVO???? An occasional pizza during the week sure, with a nice salad and some virgin olive oil no problem. But you're dehydrated after a game, you've burned off god knows how many calories and you replace it with KFC???? Please, find me a profesional football club dietician who confirms this is a) common place and b) of benefit. I don't believe it. As for the Jelly beans, that's cricketers and usually starts a row...

Please, please, please tell me you are making this up?
-
I don't know any more. Things are tough out there. What's a decent salary?? I agree with you that we won't get them while Lowe is here but when you consider the money we have spunked away on PR, severance pay, etc...
-
No idea Nick? I mean Micky, btw - whom I presume is the younger??
-
I don't buy this and never have. Dowie has a mortgage. So too Holloway and Boothroyd...and Adams (jnr) And they all think they know best. That's why they're managers. Wotte was not the right choice. Too late, but there you go.

Oh, this is a FERKING disgrace and it upsets me more than anything else. For pity's sake. I could run this club better. All that bloody investment in an eye-gym and ths players can stuff themselves on a nice Sloppy Guiseppe... Where is our dietician making sure the players, following games, have the correct food? Surely, they should be having stuff that replaces lost lactic acid and rebuilds lost energy with really 'good' carbs. I'm no expert but even I know that athletes eat pasta, fresh fish, proteins and low-fat carbs, etc. This is a bloody nonsense. What was it, one of their bithrday's? Tuck into jelly and ice cream after maybe...

There are days I watch my putts roll inches by and wonder what Tiger has that I don't. Then I remember. Practice.
-
Please tell me you made that up for effect or exaggeration?
-
I think there's a problem with some of our younger players thinking they are better than they are (McG fits this category) and others who simply aren't good enough - yet! And the yet is the caveat. Some may never be. Some will although we have probably put their careers back a few years. I am proud of players like LLoyd James who have simply knuckled down to the task and genuinely improved over the season. The trouble is you can't have half the team learning for half the season...

Poll: Will y0u attend next season if lowe and wilde are still here?
Legod Third Coming replied to Mr X's topic in The Saints
I just couldn't get my head around this view early in the season, but now I understand it only too well. Tbh, I think I will still end up going home and away possibly more depending on the relative costs, because I just can't abandon my team because some pillock is running it. But I hope to God he is gone and someone with real care comes into the job. I don't want success, just someone who WANTS to run our club and see it do as well as it can for all the right reasons. -
Not what some are saying. We were outplayed and outbattled in quite a few reports. Although hard to tell because the general malaise clouds all views... The one report I do not trust is the OS and manager's reactions!! As for chances, this is why we need a shooting clinic. We have too many shots to score so few goals.
-
I agree, I just hope to God the management ARE doing everythng they can to improve them and instill the disciplines needed to get us out of this mess, but so far yesterday's match reports, reaction and recent events, do not give me great hope...

I understand the first half of the Titanic's inaugural voyage was heartily enjoyed by all aboard. Miserable moaning lot of them...
-
Setting aside all the off field issues, there is only one thing short term that can save us. That is EVERY single player giving 110%, for every second of every game. Does our management understand this?? Fighting spirit is all that is left to us. So are our players in training this morning? Working harder on getting fitter, quicker, improving their corner taking, set pieces, stepping up and back as a foursome, defending from the front, chasing, harrying?? Above all, since we have the worst GD in the league, are we running a shooting clinic this morning? And a defensive drill? For hour after hour? I bloody well hope so.

1. What is Lowe doing day to day other than costing real money and lost gate revenue? 2. His acts at the AGM show him to be at best arrogant and misguided, at worst clinically insane. How is this beneficial to our club? 3. Now his cost cutting plans are in place and have taken root why is he needed? 4. How is our current plight NOT ending in disaster?? Lowe has driven us to a cliff and parked the bus facing the sea. Either we let him drive it over or it rolls over. Personally, I'd like him to get out and jump off and let one of the fecking passangers have a go. 'Cos they couldn't do a worse job of running a football club. Let Crouch back. THAT is a plan. Let people unite around a man who has at least put his own money in AND is a fan - there are worse qualifications for being a chairman, you know!! We will never know what real state the club was and is in. Under Lowe it's dying anyway so it doesn't matter how quickly does it? -

You don't need to have met him to realise he is an arrogant buffoon, who is driving us to League One. His removal of Pearson was motivated by spite, nothing more. And now the clucking you hear is chickens coming home to roost. -

He's give us what?? Wingers out on loan, strikers out on loan, no width and no pace - the two things we need in this league. Like his paymaster, he's given us nothing but defeat. -

He's been here the whole season and has overseen the fiasco on the pitch.
