  1. And maybe next season the roles will be reversed except Mandaric would have already off loaded Pearson so i doubt he''ll be too smug. Always be nice to people on the way up as you never know who you'll meet on the way down. Worked for me.
  2. Point is Steve if SOS takeover Saints I don't think I will get to watch more than 12 games before we go bust for the second and final time so the cost of Season Ticket would hardly constitute value. I didn't say I wouldn't buy a ticket on a match by match basis. Of course the real Hyprocisy lies with those who are supporting this last line of defence when there is a high degree of probability they did stay away under Lowe. Also I remain unsure why the SOS can't link with the Saints Trust and at least learn form the pitfalls of setting up a fan's group and use the Trust's contacts? Do you know if they are linked and if not why not?
  3. I actually agree with you Robbie albeit not quite in the same way as you put it across. 'Global Not Local' is the ideal solution.
  4. Shall we compare the circumstances under which both had to manage? Pointless thread which will serve what purpose exactly? Can somebody show me how many people are living in poverty in Southampton today compared with the numbers under Disreali so we can see what a great Prime Minister Gordon Brown is? It's history in different times and conditions and at any rate Pearson will be tested next season so let's see how he gets on as he will need more than just an ability to shout and motivate.
  5. Count me in, although the last time I visited Stonehenge, Dave Brock and the boys were playing Hurry on Sundown as the sun came up. As we seem a rare breed in the area shall we meet at Cholderton?
  6. Are you saying they are one and the same. Don't let those forensic accountants know as they will expedite the inevitable.
  7. Yes i do, our stakeholders and support from interested parties seriously let us down. Many of those same stakeholders and interested parties are now being asked to stump up £100 for a private share in a new fans consortium called Save Our Saints. The circle has now closed.
  8. Daren for the record I only ever respond in kind to insults and it is posters like yourself who feel the need to initiate them rather than enter some form of rational debate. Seriously you need to grow up son.
  9. Or a victim of circumstance? Its unlikely we would be relegated this year if the fans stood by the club instead of pointless protests and boycotts and petulance over the lack of playing standards that was placed upon us by Wilde and his cohort Crouch by p1ssing away the family silver under failed promises of investment. The management set up and playing staff was changed under Lowe this season because we effectively had very little choice in the matter. Pity you seem unable to grasp the reality but at least you can lace up those boots big boy they'll come in useful when you fail to win these arguments.
  10. Brilliant post and very little to contest or argue about.
  11. Win all 4 and pave the way for Lord Malwhinney. I think on and off the field there is an air of acceptance over our fate and its one that is out of hands.
  12. Drop the 'm' and still bite their hands off. I agree with your list but would add McGoldrick, Holmes and BWP to the list although the latter would need to take a 75% pay cut so hardly realistic. Surman has been hugely disappointing all season and his free kicks and corners have been consisitently poor at best. Does anyone have any statistcs on what % of Surman corners fail to beat the first man or go straight to the keeper? Same for free kicks, apart from his recent effort at Blackpool he fails to hit the target or for longer range efforts floats the ball usually direct into the keepers hands. Skacel's efforts have been just as poor and the only player who can take a corner appears to be Gillett. I always thought Surman was key to the team performing well but that has become less apparent even under Pearson and it seems Gillett has now settled into our most important player role.
  13. With the right structure in place I would be willing to pay what I paid during the early bird deals in March over the past 2 seasons but we are talking the Rolls Royce of solutions. At the moment though with so many unknowns it's impossible to make a more reasoned assessment. If we are taken over by SOS as the last line of defence I wouldn't buy a ST because it would be probably worthless by January 2010.
  14. Very good point and judging by comments from Sold to the Man @ The Bar is really an abuse of his tenuous position. Provided he doesn't make any claim and everything else was paid for by Wolves then I guess it's ok but really he could have wtached the game on TV if his argument is that needs to understand the assets teh club has ar its disposal. Thankfully, they have the the pointless reminisce fest on Thursday night to help pay his expenses regardless of the questions hanging over his appearance today.
  15. Greenridge don't be a smart ar5e despite the fact the suit fits well. Players have lost heart because of administration and fans stopped supporting the club that reduced revenues that helped to bring about our own downfall.
  16. Mike I wasn't clear in my previous post but I was trying to suggest that the extra revenue of 2,500 - 5,000 ticket sales would have held off administration and the players contribution would not have dropped off as it understandably has done in recent games. The extra support may have helped hold onto a draw (sheff utd game) who knows but it couldn't have done any harm. I'm hopeful an investor will come in but have no expectation of returning to the Premiership at this stage and would settle for consolidation in the CCC. I also agree JP should have gone earlier and in hindsight that away win at Reading actually bought him time he didn't really deserve despite what was a promising start to the season compared with the aged journeyman of the season before. I will reserve judgement on Lowe's character but always felt of the 3 he would always be able to communicate the most coherently on the club's behalf especially on the financial/operational management aspects of the club and Crouch could have equally done a job as Football Club Chairman if he could temper his more outlandish claims that did more to rile than instil passion. The trouble is Wilde had no place in the line up after his defection and Lowe's failure to get Crouch on board and take his £2m was the final nail if of course Crouch would have been happy with that minus his unachievable demands.
  17. Many didn't forget, they just chose to ignore the problem and kept their expectations unrealistically high leading to severe disappointment.
  18. And how do you get better football? Better players, more experienced managers oh and more money and how do you get more money? Bigger crowds. Catch 22 and so what gives? The club's future??
  19. Still can't answer the argument with an intelligent response Daren that may perhaps get me thinking I maybe wrong. A Georgian fop? At least I will remain unrecognisable whereas no doubt it takes you 15 minutes every morning to lace up your DMs because you are so hard aren't you Daren. Looks are only skin deep mate.
  20. The numbers of the Charlton game are not sustainable based on this season's attendances and the season before. Some fans are kidding themselves that by supporting games now investors will believe they are sustainable by if that is the first question they are asking then they major concerns even taking into account the removal of the lowe effect. We have been shooting ourselves in the foot for the past 3 years when the reported numbers failed to return so why should investors believe it will be any different? Seems a reasonable question and supports my views all season regards to support and administration and where it will lead. It's time fans reasses their levels of expectation in line with reality. We are not a premiership club in all but status without massive and sustained investment of £100m+.
  21. Mike, I agree with regard to be geared up nor for L1 and sincerely hope we can all put this behind us but whilst we continue to blame the present day situation solely on Lowe, that unity of purpose is never going to happen. We cannot be certain that the new chairman will not do a worse job than Lowe if you believe that you must believe Wilde in hindsight was progress when that is when the slide started along with our value. If there is such a thing I would love to read the transcripts of the conversations between Lowe and Pearson and get an inside understanding of why that decision was made. I was led to believe Pearson was pushing for the retention of Idiakez. Judging by how close we came to relegation would that alledged comment by Pearson 10 months ago make you feel confident in his ability to burn £10k a week on Idiakez? My only belief in Lowe was to turn around everything that had gone wrong the previous two years and therefore willing to buy into his plan based on the fact that we all knew we had no money and things were desperate. The sad thing is without administration and just an extra 2,500 to 5,000 fans we could have achieved survival and under Wotte may have had something to build on in the future and that recent performances can be ignored. Now we hope and if you heard Fry at HT on Solent then he wasn't exactly bullish and clearly most of the requests have been from chancers looking for information.
  22. Your reply Daren seems to support my theory.
  23. Simple really Mike because we were clearly in the realms of the last chance saloon and the normal approach to managing a club was pretty much suspended. The mistake many made IMO was to judge Lowe as if we were in a healthy situation and critcised him for decisions that in normal times he would not have made but in ridiculously difficult times was actually trying to reverse two years of supreme mismanagement with very little latitude financially. Many kicked their club full square in the ****** and that wasn't Lowe and then others pinned their hopes on empty promises of investment that would never materialise whilst the creditors grew impatient. Lowe chose the path I would have done and that is forget personalities or unfounded promises and focus on positive action in an attempt to influence our own survival. Unfortunately he was never going to overcome the simple blind hatred of others. Pitiful state of affairs really, and if the club can't find a buyer of the type FF has alluded to then perhaps its time to call time. Unity at the moment looks impossible.
  24. Don't care or lost their heart and motivation? Whatever an employee earns when their firm goes bust it is bound to affect their motivation and many of these players will already have agents out there trying to secure their futures at other clubs. It is just another by product of administration that so many appeared to have wanted and why? To rid the club of Lowe? Looks foolish now in the extreme especially as according to Fry the first question investors are asking is 'are the crowd numbers at the Charlton game sustainable?' Shock horror they must have looked at our attendances over the last few seasons and smell the bs. I will never change my opinion that the stay aways failed to grasp the seriousness of their actions and simply compounded the decisions made by Wilde, Crouch and Lowe. Many have got what they want and now realising like spolit children the consequences of those wishes being granted. Apart that it saddens me deeply as it my club too I have very little sympathy for those who championed administration and/or boycotted the club and are now still looking for people to blame without the use of a mirror.
