Cambridge must have changed then in the last 30 years but i suspect you are suffering from John Smith syndrome. Its distressing but thankfully so far yours seems under control.

No you are in Miss Williams' class 11

If there has been a funnier comment ever made on this forum then i have not read it. No disrespect to Guided Missile if he is being 100% genuine but the homages to the messers Wheeler and Godwin have increased my caution by just a soupcon of suspicion that the king of all wind ups is in play. In any event GM, I appreciate what you are trying to do, keep up the good work. (You're not married to Gael Lindenfield, Susan Jeffers or Virginia Ironside or someone of similar persuasion? If so they may have decoded your password)

Define sicko? In even the loosest of interpretations I don't think I am a sicko for holding some equally valid and equally unprovable opinions. Sad pathetic turd? Is that the best you can do. Still the absence of balanced opinion and debate is not going to be conducive to quality insults. Makes you Grade D beatle and it appears with a name like yours you can crawl away.

Careful Robbie you'll have me believing Pearson is a better manager than O'Neill. How many legends are 1 club allowed to have in a very short legend period of time? Like our legend don't you need 30 years to over inflate their achievements in line with their peer group? 70's Mike will be asking you in a minute why you didn't go to Sheffield but as a rabid anti-Lowe you may get away with it. Counterproductive isn't it really Robbie but keep it up if you must freedom of speech and all that.

And its still not the fans fault? Billy don't call yourself a ****ing twaat, your views are ill-thought out but don't put yourself down. If you want to talk about it let me know.

We all have them, but some are obviously a lot tighter than others and therefore seem more full of sh1t. Personally, I eat lots of fruit and have a high fibre diet so my sh1t is not stored up to my extremities and s a result is not deposited on here as considered comment. Keep the insults coming and I will respond but please note I never dish out unsolicited insults merely challenge opinion posted that is contra to my own. Called a forum. If you want to trade insults like a lowlife hoody then fine by me.

No idea but I expect there was lots of space

Nice bite, but seriosuly having a go at a fellow ST holder for not attedning an away game, you need to start writing a few letters.

Like you I supported the Dutch experiment it sounded like something different and given our situations there seemed very valid arguments for giving it a go. One of the reasons I was supportive of it was I thought Pearson was a mediocre and inexperienced manager, more drill sergeant than colonel and was glad we let him go. Ince is a classic example of how young managers can build a good reputation in the lower less challenging leagues with chairman support. I'm confident Pearson will show us next season that taking the leap into what is recognised as the 5th most challenging league in Europe will prove his record at Saints was more par for the course for the time being at least. In hindsight, I wish we hadn't appointed JP, I'm glad we didn't appoint Pearson because the situation of the two clubs doesn't compare and the evidence suggests of his time in the Champsionship with us our position would not be much different. So where would that have leaved us, trying to appoint an experienced manager on the cheap willing to risk their reputation on SFC. Can't think of any outstandning candidates that we would/could have chosen back in May. Steve Cotterill? Not exactly outsanding and fits the mould I expect Pearson will follow in time. Jason Dodd? Lawrie McMenemy? In Hindsight it may have been better to try and recruit a long term but quietly successful manager from the lower leagues. Darren Ferguson? Difficult to suggest anyone without knowing their salary expectations. Who's the guy at Eastleigh?

Doubt it as I wasn't singing his praises last season.

Alps, you said Lowe could have a clean slate or is that you just magnamiously offering your support to our last chance? Anyway he took you at his word and wiped the slate clean. Alpine this club died under one decision made 3 years ago when we weren't so magnanimous in our treatment of Lowe. We can only hope we are as lucky avoiding relegation as we were sneaking into the playoffs or avoiding relegation last season and if we are I doubt it will be met with quite so much misplaced flag waving.

+1. Pearson is the greatest manager never to manage England.

Congratulations Nigel, but don't understand why you couldn't make a quick impact in your 14 games here. If you replicated your record at Saints to Leicester and exprapolated that over a season I doubt you would have got promoted quite so easily. Not wishing to rain on your parade Nigel but what took you so long? Surely. you should have wrapped it all up in 40 games at least with such advantages. Clearly a combination of money, good players and vastly inferior opposition has served you very well indeed. Once again my hearty congratulations and look forward to you achieving it again next season as some fans on this forum seem to be under the impression you are Brian Clough reincarnated. BTW the single most stupid mistake Lowe made was the belief that the fans would support his efforts to save the club.

Le tissier on solent: says Lowe must accept some of the blame.
Nineteen Canteen replied to Mr X's topic in The Saints
Mr X will you be sending about 5,000 emails to our alledged supporters who made Mr Wilde look more visible? Don't forget a special email to Wilde and Crouch whilst you're at it but I suspect you can look closer to home for a prime example of a scapegoat. -
Why are pro-Lowers MORE vociferous now??
Nineteen Canteen replied to Legod Third Coming's topic in The Saints
Robbie, Lowe's alledged humiliation is a humiliation for Southampton. If you want to solely blame Lowe then you are also humilating yourself. Nevermind we are 1-0 down so keep smiling. -

You didn't enjoy the relative success then of 1997 through to 2004? -
Le tissier on solent: says Lowe must accept some of the blame.
Nineteen Canteen replied to Mr X's topic in The Saints
Exactly Nick but its almost as though he is taking the full hit to deflect the attention from others and that is unacceptable and without doubt the reason Lowe went on his post admin media round. To a man none of us would have done anything any different had we been in Lowe's position of trial by a kangaroo court. I hope MLT at least has the sense to make comment on where else he feels the club went wrong and who should be accountable. -

At least that is more balanced who did MLT think should also shoulder some of the responsibility for our fate? -
What is Fry's take and your's Robbie on what would have happend if Lowe hadn't returned? Promotion? The events of this season were the culmination of the effects of the previous 2. There is lots of press about about what Lowe should and shouldn't have done in the weeks leading up to the administration and how he has conducted himself afterwards in the media. Perhaps not surprisingly there has been no comment about the Wilde takeover and the subsequent mismanagement of resources IMO. Lowe's crime this season has IMO been solely to extend the life of the club and almost made it but was not supported by at least 5,000 regular supporters or Leon 'Call My Bluff' Crouch. IMO Lowe's recent rounds of interviews in the media are an attempt to tell his aide of the story and I personally think that is fair enough given the accusations that are coming out now about him that only diverts attention form the real story that the 'mob mentality' dictiates it's best to avoid for reasons of public perception. People keep saying lets not keep talking of the past lets focus on the future. I agree but whilst those with a public profile keep dragging this up and focusing blame on one individual instead of looking at the last 3 years then I personally will continue to try and bring some much needed balance to proceedings and don't care how 'unbalanced' and rammed up Lowe's ar5e I may appear. Why, because there is two sides to every story and anyone can see that certain individuals are acting as if they are coated in teflon and beyond reproach whilst others have disappeared. Lowe's biggest mistake? Coming back IMO and we as a club would still have met with same ending. Hone told us that 2 years ago and without Lowe's concentrated and self-assured focus on reducing cost regardless of perceived popularity IMO I don't think we would have made into January 2009 without a player giveway and something akin to Weymouth. The club maybe difficult to sell but it could have been a whole lot worse and Fry may just bemoaning his luck in trying to sell a football club in the worst recession in 80 years. Given that backdrop there are probably easier assets to offload than a football club or is Lowe responsible for the banking crisis as well?

I would echo that thought.

Very funny - is this John's dog waiting to go for a walk? John, you and your family have done very well. I apologise for not reading it all but fell asleep for hours at my desk half way through and now hoping the fuctions key imprinted on my head will fade by the morning. Still if I don't wake up early enough in the morning at least the wife can now press my f5 key. When you're posting from one of the 4 continents, (btw what's wrong with the other 3, are you slipping) do you worry about gamekeepers? Have a nice life but next time you post can you make it an audiobook? Finally, as you have offered the information is it a good thing Mummy takes your 3 year old to a Private School? Mummies round here take their little daughters to the local playgroup and bond with other Mummies and their offspring. Promotes community spirit and prevents boredom in Mummies and precocious brat syndrome in over-educated kids. If you disagree think Bonnie Langford.

Why didn't Crouch save us from administration?
Nineteen Canteen replied to Nineteen Canteen's topic in The Saints
Robbie can I refer you to Jonah's post no. 136. Once you've digested what Jonah has listed please can you try and correlate your opinion of Crouch with some examples of his recent historical involvement with the Saints.
