  1. To be honest Tame I don't know but if this rule applies to ex-employees as it was suggested then there must be an enormous amount of infractions being dished out in defence of Lowe. Works both ways doesn't as we can't start defining ex-employees as those we like, all a bit too subjective. Given the prevailing atmosphere on here at the moment I suspect that rule has been suspended to closely monitor the legality of some comments.
  2. The Lunatic Fringe according to McMoneyme is actually the Loyal Fringe. Laughable really that he thinks those fans most likely to have stayed away in protest of Lowe are classed as loyal even though they helped push the club over the edge. Shows how absurdly out of touch LM really is and as for Crouch's latest incredulous outburst IMO it is along the lines of his post administration cash contibutions - a desperate attempt at some kind of absolution with the fans. Crouch is for some reason desperate to remain popular with the fanbase and his investments into the club from his share purchases up until the present may have been well intended but equally astoundingly poor investments/decisions and total folly IMO. It seems to me that Crouch's attempts to remove Lowe have been as destructive and as futile as his attempts to save the club and that is just a personal opinion and observation based purely on being an un-connected fan in the stand. People accuse Lowe of having some mental disorder but it seems with Crouch that he maybe is the epitome of the saying a fool and his money is easily parted. What makes it worse is the fact he and his band of merry men carried round the buckets at the Burnley game asking for contributions. I wonder how many of those who gave did so because they felt intimidated to do so having a bucket waved under your face surrounded by peer pressure? Crouch and McMoneyme are as big a part of the problem as Lowe and the stay away fans and IMO by trying to hang Lowe out to dry they are all simply trying to deflect the finger of accusation being pointed in their direction.
  3. Nobby, I think you have spent to long lurking on this forum than watching games. I like Surman and think he really cares about Saints and has a good attitude but that does not make him a good player. I wish I knew what happened but he has consistently failed to show the promise he was showing us before his U21 call up. He can't tackle, gets stuck in the channels, hopeless with a dead ball to such a degree if we win a corner and Surman is taking it we have as about as much advantage as if we had been awarded a goal kick. He rarely beats the first defender or over hits it completely. Free kicks are awful and apart from his effort at Blackpool recently I can't recall a time he has come close to scoring and other freekicks he takes from the flanks always go straight to the keeper with to much curl on them. £700k would have been a downpayment for him a few years ago but now he seems overvalued at that price. Decent bloke but either we have asked to much of him and he hasn't been able to cope with the pressure or he simply hasn't the determination to fulfill his undoubted early promise. In any event Surman has been part of the rubbish we have been watching as oppose to trying to obviously stem the tide. Gillet has shown him this season in what was needed from our midfielders in terms of passion and determination.
  4. The other £9.3m?
  5. Sad and I'm afraid says more about you than anything else along with those who follow your bizarre logic. Just very very sad.
  6. And you bank at Coutts who only take very high net worth individuals and require minimum balances in your accounts that most of us can only dream of earning. Marry that up to the fact you lead us to believe you go drinking in the pub with your mates like any normal man on the street and it suggests to me you're not exactly on the level Jason. Of course your idea of a pub may differ from mine where you can buy pints instead of champers. Your either a bullsh1tter or ex-footballer. Who would admit they bank at Coutts FFS apart from some flash bstard with more money than sense.
  7. Sorry Nick, I think you will find it easy to go the same as I would no matter who was in charge, even Crouch and McMenemy holding buckets. Can't believe any fan would not be simply grateful we still have a club that in 2010 will be 125 years old and not 6 months old.
  8. Duncan, I don't think so and to suggest the administrator whose actions will be regulated and under heavy scrutiny is falling foul of favouritism is careless on your part at best. He is there for the creditors of SFC and if necessary wind the club up if he is unable to secure a sale that meets the demands of those creditors. Cheap scare mongering on you part and if Lowe is the only way this club can survive then so be it. Better than any alternatives.
  9. Don't know but how do you explain Crouch's queasy acts recently.
  10. Very true and to pick up on Gemmel's point that there was IMO a misguided belief that the largest shareholders bestowed on themselves the right to be chairman. In reality the chairman/CEO of PLC's is rarely the biggest shareholder and if that was the case most of them would be run by fund managers who usually have the biggest equity stake. Holding a whole heap of shares does not necessarily make you a shrewd and effective CEO although IMO Lowe was closest to fulfilling the remit and that is the sole reason I supported him.
  11. AP and Jonah talk alot of sense and at least Ponty acknowledges the key benefit. Under private ownership the new owner could easily be disillusioned by at times an apathetic and unreasonable fan base and simply close the club down and decide to take the structure away to start MK Saints and generate some new interest and income. Said fans could then start their club of dreams in the Sunday leagues or wherever. Private ownership doesn't necessarily mean a sugar daddy or an individual with the fans interests at heart or even an astute businessman.
  12. Adrian I read the Times not because I like it but IMO it's the least offensive, embarrassing, do goody/righteous or hated of them all. This country does not produce a worthy newspaper for the typical person who resorts to buying the women's daily the Daily Mail.
  13. I would need to buy a copy of Razzle first so they could discreetly put the Guardian inside so no one can see me and pretend I'm married to Rita Chakrabati or whatever her leftness is called. Lets defend our right to protest and shout and swear and throw things at nasty policeman and then put it on You tube when we get trouchoened across our legs. The Guardian, Daily Mail and Express are IMO are an absolute no no. The Sun and Mirror are OK for a holiday read The Telegraph only just manages to separate itself from the Guardian but for reasons on the other end of the scale. The Star isn't a newspaper so is excluded. Which leaves the Times and the Independent. The latter has dreadful sports coverage and more concerned with 'global issues' so that leaves us with the Times by default. Personally, I still lament the loss of the Today.
  14. ;-) I think Ron Howard films maybe a little bit too mainstream even for Utah. BTW you're so far up the wrong tree with that link you will never believe the truth, alledgedly. Don't bother asking though as it requires a leap of faith of Daniel Brownesque proportions. Actually, if I was a betting man you probably already know.
  15. Probably listened to a fans call to reduce ticket pricing to a tenner.
  16. Good job their readers have pads on their elbow jackets. That's a lot of page turning in the local library. Trousers are you looking forward to the release of 'Angels and Demons' in a cinema near you soon.
  17. To be fair Ferguson has been serving his apprenticeship which many managers fail to do. If Saints were given a choice of two managers next season to get us out and the two candidates were Ferguson or Pearson, my guess is that Pearson will be by far the most popular choice and yet Ferguson's credentials and experience should make him the logical choice. Fan's generally make bad managerial decisions. Curbishly was accused by the Charlton fans of being boring and safe with no ambition! Oakley's comment that Pearson turned the team around is countered by his other comment that Leicester were financially able to keep their team together. Suggests to me Pearson is a Parkinson in waiting and Ferguson like Nigel Clough will in time become great Premiership managers. Football is in danger of imploding and for all the Premiership's dominance it would be less attractive if it widened the gap further between it and the FL and surely that gap is widening all the time. Teams who get promoted have very liitle chance to compete and break into the top 10 and if they don't drop out in their first season will be odds on to do so in their 2nd. I agree with Once Bitterene that the time is right for a Premier League 2nd division. 2 leagues of 20 and 2 Football leagues of 24 clubs and pushing 4 clubs into the conference leagues as some of the clubs in League 2 cannot sustain professional status. The PL and Sky though need to recognise the support role played by the FL and without them trying to feed in new blood and having teams with the money to be able to do that the PL will lose some of its allure. Afterall, who wants to watch an effectively closed shop with little or no element of risk.
  18. Indeed, but this is discussing the rules of the forum. Not happy with those don't post, happens to us all. Still Stan can be justified as 3 or 4 have expressed their concern - there are more Lowe luvvies than posters worried about copying articles from other sources so time for a pm. Still nothing else to talk about.
  19. I'm surprised the Guardian even run reports on competitve sports as most of their readership IMO are against it. I suspect a general match report from the Guardian would be - Both teams gave a good account of themselves and tried their hardest and their managers were very proud of how they represented their clubs. That said when it goes all wrong for those nasty competitive, shouty footballer types I expect the tone gets a little more zealous and the finger a bit more pointy. The Guardian, ffs, no.
  20. Like I say i don't see why you need to ask for clarification. Seems like a reasonable rule change and you could have asked Baj in a pm. Why publicise it Stanley?
  21. Tough call that's still £50,000. Not sure many league 2 clubs can afford that.
  22. Correct and for the best part of the season spent to long walking around the pitch with his hands on his hips. Might get away with that in the Premiership if your name is Ronaldo and things aren't going according to plan but in our predictament made him look like a lazy and petulant little hoodie IMO who can't a kick a ball hence two of the worse penatly misses you are likely to see this side of Berbatov.
