Trousers! Welcome back we are in the middle of a Dan Brown book to end all books. Not sure if its Groundhog Day or Lost in Translation - I can't explain either.
-
To be fair Duncan if you had posted this earlier today I would have politely said lets wait and see. If Jackson is fronting a consortium of serious wealth and purpose I wouldn't mind if the Pompey Bellringer (whose name escapes me) was acting as go-between. The problem now is if the other principal investor is the IT installer from 2001 I think we have a problem as you suggest. Now it's out it would be better if Jackson was up front and told us all who is behind him and how much they are bidding and have for subsequent investment. At the moment we can only hope there is other as yet unidentified investors behind the bid from Jackson and the alleged Stuart Green.

A post that requires genuine applause. (Scally please advise your brother to choose his words more carefully).

No - just provide match day commentary and analysis via the OS. How difficult would that be? Talking about visionary - try it.

FWIW Duncan I have been asking the Echo to investigate this issue and more and also have contacted the club to explain how they are managing donations and reducing costs to teh bare minimum internally. Apart from one brief brush off and a 'I'll try and get back to you on the other points' a big fat zero. It's all a bit too late and should have been done a month ago. Its Robin Hood acting as collector for a bunch of Nottinghams.

I think the fact that no one started a thread during or after his show on the same subject suggests he is not actually getting any listeners. To be honest Radio Hampshire is in serious decline IMO and not helped by David Armstrong's match day coverage, truly awful.

Depends if my career depended it on or the roof over my family's head. Honda, Mini, much of the haulage industry are all giving up a full time salary and pay cuts. Whichever way you try to justify it, it doesn't look good on the club or the players especially when they have been looking for donations. Sorry, but it is very wrong and more should have been done in house by the club before passing round the begging bowl. My feelings on this have been the same since before Nick Illingsworth swung his first bucket.

I suppose for starters I would try a bit harder to put myself in the shop window for new employers.
-
I have been saying this for ages and deferral is next to useless as it just ramps up the debt. Donations please.......Mike Osman are you listening? Some us fantastic fans feel like the p1ss is being taken out of us.

I thought this was quite good - even taken into context the question was asked 3 years ago. Hopefully he has achieved it and more. What would be the title of your autobiography? One Day I Am Going To Be A Millionaire.
-
CharlieMiller (you are reading this?)- tell us what you know about Stuart Green as you advised Baj to contact him and said he would understand the server issues as he read this forum now and again. Charlie were you the one who kicked off expensegate recently? All very curious and what a tangled web we weave. With respect to Stuart Green he doesn't appear to be a in position to take over Basingstoke Town IMO although at least he will be able to help out with an IT upgrade. Green money? Doesn't appear to be that much as in 2006 he still had aspirations to be a millionaire so something somewhere has gone very right for him.

Bring on the Pledges as 2-2 = zero.
-
Its actually suggested by Slick Mick on this thread and is a name I have seen before on this forum. Not sure if it is the same Stuart Green formerly of Centreprise who left last month. IT consultants are not what we require. Much better Green candidates out there if they could be persuaded.

Frank, in the worst case scenario, your last 5 words would be a fitting epitaph to place on the club's headstone.

To the bunker! Verbal it sounds like you are always 6 degrees of separation from all known catastrophes. Wonder you get up every morning in case you melt on the tube.
-
Pity, because if he had would we be in this mess today? The Duke of Westminster could buy this club and some of you would start your mock hysteria with cry's of 'Not another toff!!' Hardly surprising you've all been blind sided with your hatred of Lowe and concerns over his return.
-
Hypocrisy Wes or a matter of principle? I'm no different to you just believe charity begins at home and then to worthy causes.....football players on £10k a week? Don't think so. The club from day one have never said how much they need for how long and where they need to use the money. They run better appeals on kids TV Programmes and I can't afford to finance a bunch (in some cases) of overpaid mercenaries. Skacel going they are already saving £12k a week, that'll be £24k by Sunday week. I'm sure with a bit of effort that could be trebled in salary cuts alone. What have we read on the OS - thank you for your donations but still more needs to be done? What exactly? I have a teenage son so already feeding a black hole for my money so why would I want to feed another one despite Crouch's assurances to the contrary. As we have learned in the past talk is cheap.

Lots of skeletons coming out of the cupboard now..

Interesting argument you put up Alpine. -

Well said, there is a big difference between a false economy and necessity. -

I think the hyperbole around Jackson himself is clouding people's judgement. I was asked a strange question by Saint77 on the MLT -was it green money? see post 238 on this thread because there could be a potentially interesting individual behind all this. I'm not in the know but was intrigued by that question from 77 and so did a little digging. Goldman Sachs maybe the common denominator.

Wes, Correction - I will not contribute to ANY fundraising until the club have slashed the wages of playing staff but clearly that should have been done as soon as administration was bought upon us pretty much as would be the case in other industries. For the record Wes buy more than 1 ST because my family and I enjoy watching the Saints top that up with expenditure on replica kits, food and drink, programmes etc then I think I've done my bit. Matter of principle and all that guff. NC

Scally, I've commented on this many times, read my previous posts and you'll get the picture. Bottom line had he not been ousted in 2006 to chorus of chants wishing he swung from the Itchen Bridge the righteous glory hunters would IMO not he required. My reasons for this are well known what isn't is why McMenemy and Osman were silent and the former highly damaging and critical in his views IMO. Right now there are far more interesting things to consider than whether your brother keeps hearing how fantastic our fans are. How many tickets have been sold so far? Enough to keep Surman in suntan lotion? Regards NC.
