  1. Moyes is a good manager that had them organised, disciplined and motivated. He bought well, was cautious and had his tactics spot on. I would attribute the majority of Evertons success to him and honestly think that you will start to see them decline as a force, I really dont rate Martinez, yes he plays good football but is just far too open and Kenright wont spend enough to patch up Martinez' defensive tactics.
  2. This I think he can push us right up there, City and spurs are the only two in recent times to break the original top four dominance, we all know the level of spending at City but Spurs have also sustained high levels for a time. Just ask Liverpool how difficult it is to get there and as much as I dislike them they are massive. I think an Everton level of sustainability is our immediate level of ambition if he continues the forward momentum he is attempting to build. The spending would certainly help but also trying to hold onto our better players and owning a successful academy. Is top four possible ? Not for a long time, it needs more than just funds (that are only sustainable with the right income) but also attracting the right players, that takes time to build the status of the club. Im going to be optimistic and say we 'could' make top four in our lifetime, but ambition or not we are not the size of those that sit in those berths right now.
  3. If you read the thread I was merely responding to the dross we tend to get this time of year.
  4. Id agree somewhat with that, as you said you can play the ball off of Lambert whereas Id argue that Carroll is best employed in the heskey mould, i.e a battering ram, though Carroll is better at finding the net then heskey and certainly more mobile than both. Carroll has his uses, fits the WHU tactics very well, and although he isnt brilliantly technical on the floor he is probably acceptable in a hold up player sort of way. Win it, pass it, get into position. Very good in the air, decent pace and composed infront of goal. Funny how opinion changes so quick, good at Newcastle, underated Wngland future CF and 35m later is league one standard at best. Dagliesh certainly did very well in his attempt to ruin in form footballers during his short tenure.
  5. Fingers crossed, I hate this squeaky voice
  6. Posts or puberty whatever comes first for you poppet
  7. Ill concede Lambert fitted far better into the England fray then I thought he would, Id like to see him against better opposition though. As per the other players, carroll included they are better than the bandwagon stock quotes that get chucked around like facts these days.
  8. There was a large slice of sarcasm that everyones managed to miss in those posts tbf
  9. No problem, you send the Femme fresh and Ill send back some banter if you want ? You seem to be struggling a tad
  10. If your assessment of me is as good as your assessment of a player Im pretty sure I dont have much to worry about pal.
  11. Exactly, all crap, all of them, Welbeck is a sack of crap for England too. 6 goals in 7 games for England and a couple of MOTM performances, dont know why we stick with him
  12. Well, Im not going to say I never get things wrong, certainly didnt think Lambert would do aswell in the England team as he did so its nice when you get things right
  13. Plantar fascia or however its spelt
  14. The price wasnt the issue the 100k a week wages is though. Still, certain amount of ignorance for his ability is expected from the average fan. He is a poor player like Downing, Rodwell, cleverley, welbeck, sturridge, shelvey etc etc
  15. He fits the way we play better, in the fact that he is more mobile, works hard, harries and will help with the pressing system we deploy. Lambert is a good good player though, expect rotation, Lambert can play No 10 aswell I reckon. Osvaldo will take us to the next level though and I would argue we would see the best of Ramirez with him up top.
  16. Not sure, just know what it is, and it can take a while to clear up. Despite popular opinion he IS a good player and fits their system, if they stick with Maiga they should be worried.
  17. Could be longer, its a nasty little injury he has
  18. TBF Downings a good player and looked very good at the weekend but Cole doesnt have long left and is more often than not injured, Carroll is good but again over paid on about 100k a week and suffering from Plantar Fascias, Nolan again good but on hefty wages. They have good players but have overpaid for them. Agree re Gold, was watching and he did seem a bit bitter
  19. Neither QPR and Portsmouth have an academy to talk of. So neither were able to field any form of youth squad really. The problem was they had no direction or plan, Portsmouth is actually a different case to QPR, they didnt have the money in the first place and pretty much gambled it all building a good team but ultimately couldnt sustain it. QPR have cash, but also had 3 seperate managers of which were given a warchest and told do what you like, thats how they ended up where they are now. Perhaps if they had a commitee and certain style then the players bought would have been transfereable, unfortunately each manager had his own ideas. Harry has done well this season by essentially trying to rebuild and TF has now chucked money at the academy and they may have a chance. That is essentially the difference between Pompey and QPR, Niavety Vs Deceipt.
  20. Rodwells a decent player, he will play, Sinclair ? Yeah your right I suspect, same as signing Richard Wright
  21. I agree here Adrian, plus this year was a bumper TV deal year, hence why we arent the only ones splashing the cash.
  22. You get 52m over income that you are able to spend on wages, it goes up by around 5 mil a season and can be offset by sponsorship and equity transfers etc etc which is why Utd etc signed 400m deals with their sponsors. Dont qoute me on that but its basically it I think. So yeah, Gold probably has a point but I just dont know, Id hazard a guess Carroll, Nolan, Downing are on a lot a week. This shows the importance of getting the right players in. And I am happy with what we have done this window.
