I assume who know who you are argueing with ? I wouldnt waste a post on them
  3. If we are willing to chuck around 20m for what is IMO a statement of intent Im not entirely sure he is going to quibble over 3-4m
  4. I get what your saying, and I anticipated the Santon analogy, which is why I said its different for a player who has played the position regularly. I think you know what Im saying though. My point is if the situation arises itll be silly to ignore it.
  5. I wonder if STDs is some sort of bear terminology for Sellbydate
  6. Nope, mysterious white slug trails
  7. Well MLG'd Tokes - 5 rep points
  8. I dont know what i did last summer - Bearsy departs from a happy life of Lidl shopping and general musings on a previously popular saints forum to go along to a holiday in Ibiza won in an extreme game of conkers (bearsy is price pikey, he wont pay for holidays) he wakes up a year later, missing his trademark yos, with red eyes and missing a testical. He then needs to spend 5 months retracing his steps, attempting to find his testical and work out why the other one itches. Can he find it in time ? Before the tenner he found in his g string runs out ?
  9. As comfortable that Clyne is there I am still a little dubious of how he will play for extended periods, playing on the opposite flank is often ok now and again but you definately start seeing little errors unless you are 100% happy with both feet and that includes tackling. As per the 3-4 mil, Im not sure that it would be a deal breaker for a top top signing but certainly if the oppurtunity arose I would be happy we went for it, unless of course Targett is closer then we think to the first 11. Priority of course was improving first 11 and I honestly dont think top 10 is achieveable without a more mobile frontman and probably a pacy winger.
  10. This Though I would personally be happier with Finn, give him a test off and get his practice in to see if he can shake off the monkeys. Tim looked in good form against essesx (I know it was only essex) bowling well and batting a century. Could give us better batting options but also with a fitter Broad then he should bowl more overs taking the pressure off the need of Finn.
  11. Exactly, and that last bit was actually a position I was in this summer, but as one that was made an offer and the offering company there would have been no hard feelings if that offer was removed due to my over diligence. Should Damiao reject an offer but then come back as we were negotiating another I would say 'look, we are 90% through negotiations with this guy, if your interested you need to sign' I said before leverage is an important thing, all the time he has offers elsewhere then its in his favour, as soon as those offers dissapear then it swings to our side.
  12. Think we will struggle to convince a player to sit behind Shaw as, 'competition' aside its obvious to most that he will be first choice and realistically Id have said that was a major part in us getting him to ignore the top four clamour. That said there are always players out there, whether its a full back getting on a bit etc ? Or a player that is more flexible. Otherwise I agree, RB is sorted but LB is woefully short. Its not even like you can play a RB at LB as in reality you tend to get your shape all wrong, I suppose if we absolutely desperate Clyne could switch but I wouldnt be comfortable for an extended period
  13. As I said before, the bigger deals are often so much more protracted whether they make it into the media or not. It comes down to sponsorship, wages, ambition, image rights yada yada yada The thing with Damiao is similar to Ramirez we just arent in a position to convince these guys 100% yet so of course they are going to have a look at whether the bigger boys are coming in. Personally I would make an acceptable offer and then give them a time limit, if it falls through atleast you can move onto the next target. As good a signing as he is, the importsnce of us getting a new striker this season means IMO we cant wait all the TW to get someone in.
  14. Nice deal for Molde, did they even play a competetive match during Forrens little adventure here ? Basically we have paid them around a million, got him fitter, paid his wages and chucked him back ready for their new season. We really are a nice club these days...
  15. Obviously not the marquee signing that we are after but I certainly would think he is worth a pop at 4-6m and low wages, honestly reckon he will be a decent player in the prem
  16. I think its known as the essex special, all the kids are wearing it
  17. Unlikely definately, I just cant see why, right now, we would need another CM. We have 3 v good CM's and arguably (for our level) two decent backups
  18. Lallana, yup, but he didnt have the greatest of seasons ladt year, I still fancy him to take the next by storm though. Can see Lambert behind a front man, but could depend on a new winger etc
  19. Thats a lot of midfield options. Hope to christ Schneiderlin is staying. If this comes off though surely someone will leave ?
  20. And nor can I see our top goalscorer getting one. Of all the arguements you could have had, you went with that one ? Not that I dont value RL's contributions BTW, just think Poch is going to want a more fluid and dynamic front line and that is vital to get the best out of Ramirez and a new winger. Plus do you see a new 20m pound striker sat on a bench ? Seems legit
