Depends on whether all 15 of Lamberts are penalties TBH. But its irrelevant, Lambert wont get 15 this year. If he does, and Carroll gets 7 then Lambert will be on the plane. FWIW I know its fashionable to dislike Carroll but he is better than people give him credit for.

For me we are keeping hold of the ball and look easily as solid as we did in those games your talking about, if even more dominant. The problem is from an attacking fluidity sense, and we struggled last year when teams sat back. Its nothing to do with the Wanyama/Cork dillema, it is to do with the need for some attacking dynamism when a team sits 11 men behind the ball which is why Id have taken off Lambert, not Lallana on Saturday. Thankfully Norwich are likely to try to attack

Exactly, Morgan was always the better of the two last year aswell, the reason that Cork made such a difference is because he was more positionally disciplined than Davis was playing there and so allowed Morgan to play tgat destructive roaming role he does so well. Been really impressed with Wanyama so far, I feel bad for Cork but I feel VW is a step up

Agree with all this Adrian, your exactly right. Potentially we have another very very promising midfield coming through (again a lack of decent wide men or strikers though) and I fully expect the powers that be too conpletely waste them. You dont see Spain try to press gang players into the side even if the dont fit the system which is basically what we tried to do with Lampard, Gerrard and Scholes, those three are easily up there with the best midfielders England have ever had and we wasted them. But yes, Spain/Germany build teams through U19s and U21s, gelling them, giving them tournament exp and getting them used to playing together. Too often we break down these teams too quickly and whats worse allow players to decide they dont want to play for England at any age group other than senior.
-
Well it is what it is, its not necessarily just opinion, you need to bare in mind for an international coach you get little time to work on the players so you pick players used to playing together already, i.e from teams with majority of able players. Also you need to pick players that fit the syatem etc FWIW I agree, after this WC we should concentrate on building a team for the next one and so have a transitional period. But its hard as when getting young players experience (walcott, Ox, Cleverley, Welbeck etc) fans will bemoan his picks.

If you played players purely on club form and not look at international squad integration you would have a team that could not play to the current England system nor would play effectively as a team. That is why the bulk will rarely change
-
You can say that about any player at any time including training, if he is fit he will play tonight IMO As for Isgrove, he is highly thought of

He wouldnt

I can actually see your logic in this FWIW. I think out of my own greed I want to see more of him and get him off the mark, it really woukdnt surprise me if this game figures more of a mix of 1st and reserve players. For instance, I reckon we will see Osvaldo, Ramirez, Cork, Lovren, Clyne and possibly J Rod playing in this. I have a suspicion that the cups will be important to Poch this year.

Itll depend how Carrolls and of course Rickies seasons pan out Id imagine

Players called up to England U19's/U21's

Shaw will be injured then...... -
No Itll be Welbeck, Sturridge and Rooney Hopefully he can come off the bench and be a nuissance.
-
Except he played v well in their last game and in Europe of course ?
-
Cambell should be in ahead of Defoe IMO. Young ?! Really ? Nice to see Townsend in, I dont know if he has done enough yet but giving a youngster a chance is always good to see
-
Swap Mayuka for Osvaldo, I think he may play but either way it should be beating a poor NPC side

Advice on travelling through France please

Yeah as far as Im aware over there if you get out of the car without one on they will fine you immediately, i.e dont put it in the boot !! Also to add to the aforementioned ton of crap that you have been told already if they can prove that your Satnav system is warning you about speed cameras they will remove it from the car, whether it is integrated or not -
This Ive always quite liked Cambell, he has bern previously capped and if he stats fit is certainly a good option. He is similar to Sturridge in respect to physical stats mind, though he plays differently. Not entirely sure why Welbeck gets such a hard time, he is on form for England after all.

This would be my thoughts, Carroll is unfit and no idea why he would take Defoe. Hopefully Rickie can do more against Moldova then he did vs Sunderland
-
That was painfull

I did watch the launch night, whatever that Lauren is, Im sorry to say is disturbing to look at.
-
Boruc Clyne Lovren Fonte Shaw Morgan Wanyama JWP Ramirez Lallana Osvaldo This has the potential to be a good game, anyone got any idea how long Yoshi has left until fit ? Though Fonte hasnt done much wrong so far TBH.

See Id have rated him about 7, without the ball he works hard and fits what we do from a pressing persective. I agree he could have had a hattrick, everyone was wastefull yesterday. He was better than Lambert IMO

Post Match Reaction & MotM: SAINTS 1-1 Sunderland

Defensively we look solid, keeping possession very well. I was originally dissapointed that Cork was displaced so easily by VW but watching him its obvious why. He is such a dominant midfielder that it removes the necessity to play with 3 defensively minded midfielders and frees up Schneiderlin to help out the attack. We still struggle to break teams down, though as I have thought before I think its more because of Lamberts lack of dynamic movement in and around the box, I think PDO will change that. Chambers and Shaw look v solid defensively, Clyne gave a different element when he came on though helping to give an extra dimension around the box. As impressed as I have been with CC I think Clyne coming back is a good thing as the majority of our width comes from the FBs. JWP is an exceptional talent, was v impressed with him last year but he has definately kicked on. His dead ball delivery, ball retention and overall game is excellent for a lad of his age, his vision, composure and movement is very very exciting to watch. J Rod, dont get what all the fuss is about, I didnt see this poor game everyone is talking about ? was unlucky not to get two goals today, he could have had a hattrick but certainly looked dangerous to me and works well in the tactics, presses well and causes teams a headache. Lambert, like J Rod wasted chances IMO. You can see his quality, but today wasnt his day. Touch off, lack of movement. Id have taken him off and left AL on to increase fluidity around Sunderlands parked bus. Ramirez, the boy has what it takes, hopefully we will start to see it more often. Lovren, a class above, you can see it in everything he does, composed, assertive, classy defender. John O'Shea is an arguementative, niggly, horrible lump of average footballer. Overall, we need to get more clinical, its all well and good winning and keeping possession but we need to have that extra gear around the oppositions box. -
Am I the only one that thought J Rod didnt have a bad game ?
