Not saying we should, he occupies that no 10 position perfectly, but we just dont have that much out there to cover for Adam, I am pretty stuck TBH. I know what your saying, but we have tried J Rod out there already, Fox is a rediculous suggestion, Guly I dont think is as bad as everyone thinks but still not good enough really, mayuka is not really a wide man. That leavrs Davis, a youth product or Ramirez but given the freedom to roam like Adam was.

2 of the last 4 posts made me realise why I just dont bother very much any more

Looked decent for arsenal pre injury, looked good for wolves pre injury, will be a decent player IMHO, Arsenal happy to release him, will come cheap, and if it doesnt work out so what ? Easily good enough to deputise for cork and morgan and arguably better than anything we have in reserve for that position. -
Itll be a shuffle round I expect, we probably will see Ramirez out there but maybe he will change things slightly, different formation ? It could be anyone TBH, Chambers has been getting good reviews, could be Davis, Guly ? J rod ? Until next saturday who knows ?
-
Itll be one of Mayuka, J Rod, Guly or Chambers who deputises for an injured Lallana. Fox is a terribke idea IMO, why do we get so many threads on playing players out of positions because they have a FEW attributes that could benefit that area ? This isnt sunday league, at the top level you generally play the position you have been coached in for X amount of years. It doesnt work

Dawson, frimpong and will hughes and Ill be s happy man. -
A sacking that had its reasons too... No not players wives. As for this season, of course staying up, before the season started I thought we had enough about us to be safe mid table BUT even then I said Id be happy with 17th, now even more so. As for NC I see no reason why he wouldnt stick with Nige next year, he stuck through with him up to now and we seem to be turning a corner.

Southampton vs Reading - Full 90 minute video

TBF it was 3 vs 7 players from a big hoof up the pitch, crouchy probably shouldnt have done it, he could have carried on into the corner, but then I would have rathered he hadnt have gone on that lsnky run in the first place. Back to the big hoof, what the hell was barnard doing in the middle of the pitch ? And made such a bad hash of dealing with it. The rest was just as bad. We really were crap werent we. -
I agree with this entirely, I think the fact that we have an open door policy more or less is crippling. I am not Xenophobic in the slightest, my boss and a lot of the people I work with are from eastern Europe and are more qualified then I am, and I am talking HV protection schemes etc here not a building site.. So this shows that of course in certain aspects we need foreign labour and it is in no means a burden. In this aspect we should be more like Australia, who if I rememver rightly will only allow entry if you are qualified to take a job they are short of workforce for and almost always require you to have a higher skill set AND a certain amount of savings behind you. Allowing any tom **** and harry in causes more far reaching problems, like Tim says, hospitals, housing and benefits systems are stretched to breaking point, and unfortunately if you ever speak up about this you are automatically branded a xenophobe or worse
-
You may even see young chambers step up to the plate yet, but it will possibly be Davis playing wide left. We still have options, but losing a player of lallanas quality is a real blow

And yoshi

Form has a lot to do with your last 6 games too though, forgive me I cant remember all 6 but is it Swansea, norwich, qpr, reading, liverpool and I cant remember the other one. Not to put too much of a downer on it though, what is very pleasing is that we are starting to gel more as a team and seem to be moving forward, our run of easier games has come at the right time IMO, again with Fulham and Sunderland before Jan. We need to take this into the new tear to give us a chance and thankfully the teams around us seem to ve struggling more. The lallana siruation is a biggy, but if we pick up 6 points before Xmas Ill be an aweful lot happier

Was about to put that on this thread, though Im not Albino bearsy. Will Hughes, Derby player, to me looks like a young Lallsna but with arguably more talent. Again though he is only 17, do you really want to rely on a 17 yr old ? Depends if Adam is 1 month or 6 months serious. Ince is a possibility, Zaha (prob to top 4 side) or abroad

Why is your avatar a man saving the pompey badge from the bin ?

He always was a bright up and coming manager and I think that regardless of what happens at St Marys this year he has a bright future in the game. Too niave at first, agree with Turks that tactically he still makes mistakes, and strange subs, he has toned down his principles a lot and has us playing some more contained tactics whilst still maintaining that attacking bite, no doubt Ramirez, cork and Shaw coming into the side have helped matters. Him and the rest of the transfer committee need to do a better job in jan though, Im not going to stand pointing fingers, none of us actually know, but it wasnt good enough. Still a lot of the season to go, but I have faith he will pull it through, the teams around us have certainly helped us

Its not like we already had a thread on puncheon and this subject anyway was it ? It wasnt the question, it is, in essence a valid question but TBH the boy has been a pain since he got to Saints, is going through a purple patch atm I know but how long will it last ? Are we looking at or have lined up quality improvements ? Perhaps you need to ask why people jump onto FF's posts, as much as many of the posters that get pounced on this site will moan and kick up a fuss that occasionally the man and not the ball is played, there is always reason. And generally FF only really starts a thread if he has a snippet of information that could further damage the management teams reputation, is that putting the clubs best interests at heart ? Is that remaining objective ? I also take offence to someone saying a certain person loves the club over 100s of people you have never met, you do not know mine nor anyone elses affinity to saints, and certainly I would not post any thinly veiled agenda ridden tripe in order to sway people against our current chairman. If I had something I deemed worthy of news, in the respect of one of the management team doing something to the detriment of saints Id have the balls to come out and outright say it.

Long term contract, we bought him for what 2.5 ? Banging them in for forest, wouldnt surprise me
-
I agree with the rest but English teams are not allowed to talk to english players, albeit officially (which means squat) until near the end of that contract, and thats within 3 months maybe less.
-
Sell Sharp for 5 mil, buy a CB, we dont really need hooper, we play ine up front, Lambert and J Rod are good enough imo. Though I do rate hooper, you cant judge too strongly due to the opposition he plays against
-
You didnt even know who Will Hughes was
-
No idea, just a thought. On another note FF what exactly did you want the club to come out and say ?
-
You get that little kick in there What peachy has said doesnt mean he has or hasnt been offered a contract, and english teams cannot talk to any players under a contract so cant talk officially until end of the season, and yes I know that means nothing in reality. Alternatively maybe we have a replacement lined up ?
