  3. For perennial relegation favourites yes
  4. Meh Not the first time we have not agreed, and won't be the last, which is good and what football and a forum is about (you are wrong though ) Pace isn't everything or else Jono quick will be our main man. FWIW btw, I don't see how Antonio is any different out wide to Forte, neither appear to have any technical ability with a football.
  5. Probably about 8th, Guly player of the season. Barnard top goal scorer (if he avoids jail). Would love it if we reached the playoffs though.
  6. Come on Turks stop stiring the mongs up.
  7. I have been saying that for a while. The championship is a lot more open and football playing league, one that I think Schniederlin, Guly, Lallana will thrive in. Unfortunately I see hammond having a shocker.
  8. Busy striker with an eye for goal, given a run in the team and up his confidence I think he could be a decent front man, certainly to the level of Billy Sharpe, I must admit I was never overawed with the Billy rumour apart from the fact that it was a decent sign of intent. We don't need sniffers (BS) or busy men (CMS) as we already have that angle covered. We need pace to add a different dimension, perhaps Adkins has worked on Forte ?? I don't know. As for Connolly he is past it for me, his movement is top class though, he really has a real footballers brain, something that hopefully he can teach to Barnard.
  9. This He had a decent season with us at a time when we were not overly blessed with wide men and were starting afresh to build a new team. We now have Lallana, Oxo, Chappers, Dickson, Holmes, Mills, Guly, Forte, Puncheon. What would the point be of having yet another wide man ? And especially now Adkins is starting to move away from Pardews kick and run football (not all that egotistical pr*cks fault but a sign of the lack of quality we had) and more a technical game then how would a player that technically was not all that (couldn't control, cross or pass very well) fit in ?? Antonio had a decent run with us and a decent cup final, but I never saw a player with any real potential, I said long ago he would never set foot in the prem and would be a lower league CCC player. I see no evidence that I will be wrong.
  10. Macheda is not an option
  11. Calm down darling, I'll chuck you a fiver
  12. If sfc doesn't you have 2nd dibs
  13. Behave, best midfielder we have
  14. 10er to any charity you wish he doesn't score more than 15 this year
  15. Don't be so fecking stupid boy, there is no way he could adapt to the championship. Connolly would easily outscore him.
  16. Meh Barnard and Guly will have good seasons, Maynard deal is not dead but would be pricey. I expect we will get someone from abroad and I fully expect us to over rely on the tortoise that is Lambert before its too late. Other than that I don't know. Give it time, we have a decent squad apart from a striker and a new brick ****house of a CB. Cork went a long way to appease me of our Midfield issues. (bye bye Hammond)
  17. The club is gaining IMHO by making all the bedwetters wait, as when the kit is launched they will probably lay on some extra crap on to entice the minions to part with even more money when they cue up to grab the latest installment of the money making machine that is football kits. FFS I buy probably about 1 or 2 kits every few years to train in, and never saints kits, I did buy the sash as I found it a new and inspiring kit. But usually I would never ever spend £40 odd quid on a generic shirt, that gets me half way to a decent pair of jeans, converse or a new polo. I appreciate those that do like to buy the kit and show colours, fair play to you. But if anything surely this adds to the excitement over a usually dull no football period. If they just said, here you go here is the latest offering I expect they wouldn't make as much money through the hype and the club would lose the mercurial theme it seems to have at the moment.
  18. Not even in the same league as that moaning little bast*rd. Puncheon has not 'felt right' at any club he has ever been at. Sense says that Billy's agent tried it on a little too hard, I have no bad blood for Mr Sharpe for that, he is at the relegation favourites and we are on the up, its his loss not ours, and tbf, if and when donny get relegated I expect he will get a move anyways.
  19. This I was going to post that in my 1st post. He only has to turn around and say I must be paid at least as much as the highest earner OR on the flipside, I will only come for £x and then we may have to uprate Lallana, Fonte etc who all could equally be on a similar highest earner deal ?
  20. I'd spunk £4 mill on him, I think Maynard is a decent player and could add a bit of pace to the side. £5 mill is a bit steep but it is due to the transfer climate as it is and the new uk player rulings thats what you pay. I do however think that both Barnard and Guly have a lot of potential to do damage in this division this year, but for me the jury is out for Lambert.
  21. A lot of teh Delgado 'fee' dissapeared into the pockets of others, and at a time when Forlan was available and willing for a modest 400k, but hey ho I had this conversation last night when discussing the possible clubs interested in Maynard, his fee I would suspect may be north of 4 mill, and as said last night, english players are pricey these days.
  22. Its not always all about cold hard cash (though I would imagine it played a big part). Perhaps he wasn't thrilled about moving south ? Perhaps he wasn't promised to be first choice (I think a large part of the reasoning) ? Perhaps it was indeed money related. Either way I admire the fact that we are not throwing cash around at anything that moves and are trying to piece together a squad that hopefully has more ambition than greed. It would be nice to think we have other irons in the fire aswell. We have Lambert, Barnard and Guly on our books, all of which I think are very able strikers potentially in this division.
  23. Still hoping its a sash
  24. For me ST sales are the biggest indicator of a clubs support (although it has factors none more so than price) Walkups is a smaller indicator and is heavily influenced by social events and success on the pitch vs opposition.
