Sharp, Maynard, CMS - who would be best for saints?
Smirking_Saint replied to NickG's topic in The Saints
Maynard and Sharp would be the two of the three I would go for TBH, both very much proven in the league, Sharp has what appears to be a keen eye for goal and when he has been given the oppurtunity then he seems to score goals. Maynard is quick, strong and technically a good player, quite young aswell. He again would be a fantastic signing. CMS, well, I don't see the massive clamour for him, he is a hardworker, but hardly proven outside of the lower levels (MLG's pedantry aside). For me we have a player very much like him in Barnard, in the respect that he is a hard worker and scores goals. IMO he is very much overpriced. That said, we currently have Guly, Lambert and Barnard in a striking sense. I would personally like to see a quicker striker up there to mix things up. Nathan Tyson would have been superb, Maynard even better. In the other thread someone said about andy johnson, if available and looking to move down a league he would be a top signing aswell. Oh and Avenue, if you don't get the sarcasm breaking up the all too often monotonous OTT ramblings I wouldn't bother. -
How do you know what type of burglar it is ?
-
Dogs are pretty easily dealt with and distracted by anyone that really wants to get in, however it does tend to put off the everyday oppurtunists.

Point taken What I am saying however is that if I confront them and they run then ok, I am not going to follow them and gun them down in a callous manner, I am also not saying that I will knock them to the ground and repeatedly crack them over the head until they are dead. That is just rediculous. As far as what we are talking about in regards to the OP then how do we really know what happened ?? Perhaps the guy was in his kitchen when confronted by not one but four masked men and grabbed a knife, perhaps they started coming towards him ? What would you do ? Put the knife down and wonder what would happen in court ? In my eyes if it was that situation then he is well within his rights to act upon his instinct. It does however turn into something different if he chased them out of his home and then caught him, dragged him back in kicking and screaming and stabbed him repeatedly to death. That would be murder IMO. All I am saying is if confronted with someone in my home I will more then likely arm and protect myself/family first and foremost and ask questions after, if they flee then what I have done is justified and I will then phone the police etc, if they stay then I have to be ready to do what needs to be done, do you really think you can reason with them ? Or try and work out the statistics oif whether they are a violent burglar or not ? What I am not saying is I will take the law into my hands, but that in these situations the law should be stacked in the favour of the homeowner, because as a law abiding person I just don't know what sort of situation I am faced with until it turns ugly or not.

Utter utter bullsh*t. If someone has the mentality to break into your house, whilst occupied then surely you have to take the assumption that they are more ready then you are to use force to get what they want. The fact is I am not going to hang about trying to judge whether or not they are the type to get violent as, basically, by the time I have formed the opinion of yes or no then I will probably already be left incapacitated or worse. If I confront someone who has broken in, especially with family in the house I am going to base my assumption that they are possibly armed and possibly ready to do harm, therefore they will either exit quickly by their own means or via window down stairs etc, or worse if needs be. I can't understand those that would sit back and hope for the best, as if the best is that you take a kicking and whatever happens to your family happens then what ? I would argue that 90% of people if asked, would act first and ask questions later, also, reasonable force is so hard to judge, how do you know what weapons and what intention they have in the dark ? Under a mad panic ?

The last two definately are not Seriously though MLG, your pedantry is becoming legendary.

England U21's without a player like Lallana
Smirking_Saint replied to Crab Lungs's topic in General Sports
True, but every country will hype their own players up much more then other countries. Also, with the fact that Fifa are trying to force regulations as to how many foriegn players clubs can have then the better and higher potential young talent will cost more. Henderson will be a good player, in fact most of these players will become good players. You can't always blame the manager, but Pearces negative tactics have cost us dearly. -
The Championship - far too unpredictable?

Well well Stuart. Boring, uninspiring and toothless. Isn't it obvious that after two games of the defensive crap, each using the same subs etc that it just wasn't working ?? I understand what you are saying Window but the best teams play possession and control the game, probing for an oppurtunity and moving forward with creative, attacking momentum when required. England U21's have been playing possession as thats all they can do. Defensively we look pretty solid. Welbeck and Sturridge look as though they could make decent strikers, then there is the Midfield. Oh christ. I though Muamba was highly thought of ? He was terrible. -
Real Madrid are open to offers for Ronaldo aswell, we have the cash and the ambition. He will surely take the step down to NPC because of where we are going. Obviously he won't cut it in this league, the same as torres.

I agree they are not all bad, but surely you realise the trail of destruction they leave in their wake ?? Surely ? I really do not understand why some defend them, is it just to be PC ?
-
Not really, just the fact that these sorts of pikeys are a bunch of c*nts and are better off out of our society.

Pearce has named a side with 3 defensively minded midfielders in it, its all well and good playing with 3 strikers/wingers but he has to get the ball to them. Henderson is trying to get up the pitch with the ball, otherwise they seem to be relying on Walker. IMO he needs to put on a forward that can hold the ball up and play off him. But yes, International football is sh*te, and will be until we get football people into the FA and stop thinking of the money. -
Getting fit for football, training for the GSR, football manager, do a lot of on call work, pub, badminton, gym, missus and almost a total re development of the new house.
