I have changed the above post for one that i believe is more likely to be a better team, i agree with what you have written above however. IMO, spiderman, if he is not bought has the ability to play with us all the way up to the premiership, watching him against MK Dons in the week he was a different class, he is better than Hammond and is still improving. I also liked james in the middle, Hammond has not set the world alight for me. Also, i would hazard a guess the OP applied before the transfer window opened, i just can't see us signing many more players. A midfielder is a must and perhaps one more.

Hmm, well, i was on my way to birmingham when i heard the news and went through a few emotions. 1st. WOW THE SKATES AT HOME !!!! GET IN 2nd. Has he done anything majorly for Stoke ?? In the CCC yes but not really in the prem. Fuller for me looks a better player. Ok, i may be going a bit OTT but i really do put his fantastic season (and it was, i can't take his goals away from him) to the team around him, and many people don't give them enough credit. He would not have got anywhere near that amount next to marian.

Agreed to an extent, it is hard to make comparisons as they are in different leagues, that being said, beattie was never the handful Lambert is, did not have the free kick and ball striking ability Lambert does and also his first touch and technical ability was woeful. If Lambert was in the same side as we had in 02/03 i would say he would get the same amount of goals, at least.

he had one good season and like i said people do not recognise the contributions made by those around him. As highlighted in this thread saying BO did nothing for us and we would have 'had a better 02/03 season with pahars' (lol again) You can see how 'good' he is by the fact he has never managed to replicate that form ever again.

He was always tarnished with the fact that he came out of league one, the fans never let him get away with that. I thought he was a decent player and hounded the defence, causing them to make mistakes. It strikes me as unbelievable the amount of hero worship beattie gets on here, he simply was not That good.

Have you ever been over to watch the red and white ?? Ormerod was the primary reason Beattie got so many goals. That and the fact that bridgey managed to put a decent amount on his head. Total lack of sense anyone slagging off Ormerod, he was a great little player. I agree, he would never set the world alight but gave a lazy player with little technique everything he needed.

As horrible as it is for every football fan to sit and watch, Lambert gives us a target to aim at for the long ball and so is effective for seeing games out. This is probably the reason for barnard to come off.. I must admit, i am a little worried we have not got a big brute as cover for Lambo, if he gets injured i will be worried

Yeah i agree, though i still think the way we play our best football relies on Lambo making a mess out of the oppositions back line. I would like to be proved wrong tho ! Happy if Lambo is on the bench today, but then TBF our next two league games shouldn't be too testing.

Technically he was carp, he won't unsettle ipswich like he did a very poor league 1 back line (they looked crap when they played at St Marys, that doumbe or whatever is the only decent one) If he starts, he will get slagged of for being dump today. Leave him on bench until they tire.

I agree, BUT we are never gonna get anywhere near wembley, we already have one foot on the turf in the JPT. We get no points for playing these games and an injury to the likes of Lambert will kiss good bye to our playoff ambitions, however slim they are. Sorry alpine, i just can't agree with you in this thread. How can you justify your comments of Schneiderlin disappearing in games when you don't watch them regularly. Also, he was constantly involved in the week so i don't know what you saw there ??
