Yeah i agree he is not at his full game at the moment, but it is not all down to him and although not at the top of his game he still helps out the team an aweful lot and i would hazard a guess we would have been in a lot more trouble last night without him.

Shame, he looked very good in that role as the more attacking midfielder. James also looked good, i would even go as far as saying if we got a decent DM in this window i would not be complaining of seeing Hammond dropped for new DM, James and spiderman.

Lambert will never make a premier league striker

If i remember that beautiful cross ball pass the released the striker was james. Antonio offered a lot of ambition and is as always full of running, that will allways worry defenders. However, he came across one of the worst LB's in the league, his crossing was very poor, he has no skill on the ball and often struggles to even control it. He won't be the same player saturday.

FFS, it's simple, he is being played out of games. Coaches aren't stupid, they are a damn sight more intelligent than you lot and me (though with some comments on here thats not hard) Its a constant sh*t flinging exercise on this forum isn't it ?? First James, then spiderman now lallana, all are very much our better performers this year. Watch the f*cking game people, when lallana has the ball he is penned in by 2-3 players and same with lambert when he has the ball and has a player behind and infront when the ball is hoofed. Lallana is a player that can make things happen, only one piece of skill needs to come off to for a goal. And when he is in the game defenders are pre-occupied with nulliufying his threat. Why do you think they started to come at us when he was off the pitch ?? Releasing their full back ?? Get a grip people.

He does fit in, like i said, it gives us two dimensions to use which is always good. I do agree, form over names at all times but personally i don't think it is a form issue. He still plays well, just has not had the goals he had at the start of the season. I thought he did ok last night. TBF, antonio can't cross a ball either

Antonio was ok tonight, he is still very very raw. Don't get me wrong, the boy is quick but i don't think he is quicker than papa who IMO is the more talented player. His pace did have the MKD back line crapping it's pants every time we had the ball though, which is a good thing. But the only way for him to become really threatening is if he becomes more dangerous with what he does with it. Great goal, but some woeful crossing, i can see stevo's point he is making, but he did cause problems for MKD. Disapointed james hasn't got more of a mention, thought he did really well in midfield last night, passes the ball well, looked lively and had some good efforts, that left footed shot at the end was quality. I don't understand what he has to do, if he does anything wrong everyone jumps on him, but he has a good game and people ignore it. I think he has a future. Lambert played well again, i think if he gets injured we are in the poo, same with Lallana (see my summary of him in the lallana thread). Lambert however doesn't win THAT many headers, it just appears he does as he causes such a nuissance the ball drops down all around him. Unfortunately i think we will have to put up with the long ball, but tbf, it is a decent 2nd dimension for us to use. Fonte - Real class at the back, looks calm and composed, definately better than this league.

Lol, what a ton of carp. The boy has something different, and with it he works very hard for the team. At times he is the spark that gets us moving. When you watch saints and last night is a good example, we have one of two options. Play creatively through Lallana especially and also spiderman or hit the big long ball towards lambert and pick up the pieces (i have noticed he is not winning as many headers but causes such a nuissence the ball ends up around the box anyways). Now we have increasingly played the long ball a lot towards lambert, and this effectively bypasses lallana. The difference being by now everyone has a good idea about how the teams line up and also who the dangers are etc. Lallana and lambert get special treatment from other teams, they overload them, both when lallana is on the ball and also when we hit that long ball towards RL. When lallana has it he makes things happen and we look dangerous, when he came off we lost an option, Holmes as good as his crossing is, is just not good enough, mainly due to his pace, and that caused us issues. Also, Apline, tbf i think u normally get a hard time, and most of the time do agree with you, that being said, what you said earlier was complete carp. Of course players can get jaded etc, we have a lot of fixtures lately, i would imagine the team is training hard, of course they will tire.

It's all house deals isn't it ?? I may be so so wrong but looking at it through my eyes it is becoming more and more glaringly obvious. Gaydemak controls all of the land around fratton park however there is nothing he can do with it, essentially the land he owns is useless to him as they are unable to build without A. barclays permission and B. as long as there is a football club on the ground. I would say, that gaydemak has put up a fake sale to the arabs to cover himself. They are now looking to push pompey to the brink of extinction and hopefully complete extinction at which point the land will perhaps become useful to him to build on ?? It is too much of a coincedence that everyone involved has links to gaydemak and his father, and then you have the obvious issues of the arabs and jews working together ?? It is all so very very dodgy, and the result i would argue will not be any where near pretty for PFC, if that happens too the PL have an aweful lot to answer for IMO.

All those players have decent midfielders covering them, i understand your point of building a team around him. But he is not good enough. He has a lot of talent and don't get me wrong i do rate him, i do however have my concerns about his tactical knwoledge and positional play. I'd love to be proved wrong though

I understand the perspective, but you have to look at it in the middle, between the whingers and the rose tinted glasses camps. Ok, we score enough goals but let too many in - Pardew has addressed this and bought 3 defenders. We are 10 points away from playoffs - In a way, ok, this can be acceptable because we had points deduction but FFS we shouldn't have lost to some of the teams we have lost to. And also, i agree with Stevo, we scored in the final minute and then switched off, they scored about 15 seconds after kicking off with a long punt, we played crap all game apparantly so ok, we didn't deserve the win but we should be able to hold on ffs.

Just watched the game on football league iplayer, the Millwall goal was an absolute mess, i think it was Wotton that missed the vital header and then Otsemebor completely switched off it seemed, terrible defending. Also, Lallana's future is not in the middle, not unless he bulks up a bit. IMO anyways. Hammond is out for a few weeks too apparantly, but i think he has been off the boil for a while.

Would be a great signing IMO, perhaps this is the player that pardew was alluding to when he said 'weren't having a good time elsewhere' however i believe he was probably talking about otsemabor. If we could steal him on a free he is probably just the player we need imo.
