Not entirely sure you have a football brain either to be honest

I think its quite cute that Everton are using this situation to remind everyone that they are 'a big club'. Forever in Liverpools shadow. I actually quite liked them before but after all this ******** I think it is Liverpool as a whole thats clearly full of ******s. As per the debate, I dont really get the want to move from Saints to them, Saints are clearly on the up and things have been reletively stale at everton recently. It is obviously an attractive proposition, a wad of cash and the promise of a strong future, but is it worth it ? We all know Koeman wont go for longevity, even the Evertonians dont deep down. He is destined for a big team, arsenal, liverpool, milan, barca. And then there is his CV, a top for finish will just be pointed towards moshiri and his millions, anything less a failure. For me it speaks more of something going on at saints, I know some will no doubt berate me for saying it but did the contract renewals go stale ? Was there a bigger falling out ? There was of course a point everyone including Koeman just saw Evertons offer as an annoyance. But I think its more than just the money personally. Its a bit of a worrying trend that we lost two good coaches prematurely, and does for me point at that reluctance to go to the next level. All in all though this is Saints, its the badge that matters more than anything or anyone else, and we have come back before, no doubt we will again.... Hopefuly

Pretty surprised at some of the posters on here having a meltdown over a man that dares to question the offer on the table from saints. For a start there is no concrete evidence that he is talking to Everton yet, only that Everton are using the press to force an agenda through. I honestly wouldnt wish him any ill will if he moves on, similar to that of Poch, in fact Id wish him all the best. He is a man looking to improve his career and his bank balance, like any of us would. And the simple matter of fact is that if Saints cant offer him what all in all would be the best offer (salary and ambition) then why wouldnt he jump ship ? A failure to keep Koeman is as much Saints doings as it will be Everton's prying IMO. I just dont think personally, after Poch, we can afford to lose another outstanding coach. Its only a matter of time that we make a wrong appointment.

Its an easy negotiation tactic for him, I dont see why he necessarilly wants to go to Everton, its not a particularly big step up, and will take work to get them where they want to be. If for instance, he goes and fails, it will be an expensive mistake for his CV Its also however, a convenient situation, he is able to push his agenda with us, which I hope he is, the majority of which I think will be centred around transfers and the future. It allows him to try for his favoured option and still have a backup plan. It will however, IMO be an indictment of our own ambitions, and if we can meet them, which would be a shame considering we are so close to upsetting the top 4. However this is Saints, we have recovered before and will again.

Jesus Does this mean you lot are going to tell me I have to hate Koeman and Everton now ? And Koeman had flaws etc etc

Pretty much spot on IMO A midfield 3 of Alli, Dier and Wlshere would be my mudfield of choice, as it should give us fluidity and creativity. The forward options will pick themselves to be honest, Kane and Vardy should be dead certs, Id maybe start Sturridge or Lallana instead of Sterling. Its defence that we'll lose games, none of our CB's fill me with any confidence. Rose did ok, not MOTM but had a good game for me, surprising he gets slagged off so much, must be the spurs connection. Worth noting that anyone that plays down Stones side is going to be in trouble as his position discipline is pretty poor. Its a difficult call between Rose and Bertrand, Bertrands better IMO but Rose fits in with the spurs connections in this squad.

No idea, been aweful, complete passenger

Pretty much Decent player, not a lot of change between him or bertrand with the bonus that there is a bunch of spurs players there. Decent options. Id have Clyne over walker but again the spurs connection is a winning one Shame Welbeck isnt around, adds balance to the front line, will be interesting to see if Sterling finds any form. Wilshere is arguably our best midfielder when fully fit, if he is fit enough Id take him. As for rooney, he looks better in midfield these days but we have more than enough options upfront and in midfield that should all play before he does

So we are effectively in a similar position to where we were with Poch, albeit without the backroom change around. But effectively the talks will need to show Koeman an amount of ambition that he wants, he is a man that wants to succeed and compete at the top level. We have already shown that we have the ability to acquire and gel top players and coaches for less than a lot of top clubs are able too. Its not like Im asking us to spend 100m pounds or anything stupid or unsustainable, but we could fall behind, what with West Ham now able to up their spending etc Personally I dont think we are too short, a top level striker and probably a decent CB and AM to potentially replace Davis and Fonte moving forward and we'll still be a solid side. Failing to keep hold of Koeman may say as much about our ambition than anything else
-
Id be up for it, including paying the extra for 90 Just dont play me at CB please
-
Pretty much agree, though Id take drinkwater over Carrick and Sturridge (agree regarding his temperament, good player but completely selfish) over carroll. I also think that realistically rose gets the nod over bertrand, mainly because of the number of spurs players likely to make the first 11, though bertrand will have to go, he is the better LB imo and of course can play as an emergency CB. Id love Shaw to be there but he has had a big injury, and struggled to fitness before

Nothing wrong with wilshere when fit to be fair, especially if it means milner gets the boot
-
Tempo wasnt as high as vs the germans, we were at their throats where as we have let the dutch play
-
Milner needs to come off but Lallana is looking excellent, and rose very good in both games Think bertrand is marginally the better player but Rose probably fits england better with arguably 2-3 other spurs players in the team. Barkley growing in stature, sturridge too greedy

A friend at work got a letter from Virgin, and no word of a lie they said "We see you download a lot of movies from high traffic torrent sites, we would respectfully ask you to do this at off peak times in order to best allow us to manage our bandwidth" He rung up and asked, they said they know he was doing it illegally but they dont care other than the hit to their bandwidth Lol

Poch wouldn't leave Spurs for Chelsea or Man U
Smirking_Saint replied to Wes Tender's topic in The Saints
Exactly this. Never much understood why he was such a 'snake' leaving when he did. For a start the entire boardroom was changing, and he got no guarantees (why would he in a time of a boardroom skake up to be fair) but add this to a bigger club come knocking most would have exited. Good manager and excellent coach, he'll move on to bigger and better than spurs -
They checked my heart rate at the gym today, was 44

I actually think theres a good player in there that could do well, but 12m and what is likely to be high wages is just too steep
-
Fair play to this by the way, Ive always been keen to keep myself relatively fit, a lot of which is because I still try to haul my battered body around a football pitch, therefore Ive never really needed a fitness band. Anything that gets people fitter and healthier cant be a bad thing though, so whatever works for you I suppose. Still one of the best lifestyle choices is to get all of the convenience food out of the freezer (quick meals and boxed goods) and just fill it with meat and vegetables.

Of course he would want the Chelsea job, why wouldnt he ? He has no real emotional ties to us only those that have been forged recently Anyone with their knickers in a twist over this needs to get a grip really, it'll be a shame he left but not disasterous, plus it differs from Poch as IMO Chelsea are a much bigger step. My worry is that it parallels the Poch exit due to the 'lack of ambition' vibes in and around the club, but nothing more than a worry. For what its worth it won't happen, Ill be shocked if Chelsea want Koeman
