To be fair, pathetic if our fans were booing him. Not his fault we can't defend. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk

Jesus. Are we trying to concede 6? Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk

He’s been pictured in training regularly over the last couple of weeks. Does he only get injured on match days?

Yep, agree it doesn't make much sense not including him when the other options are so limited. Valery, whilst promising in the long term, was cruelly exposed at times tonight, which cost us. He's just not ready or confident enough at this high level yet. Got to think a move is in the offing in my opinion otherwise don't get why he's not at least been on the bench. Michael Obafemi - Official: Signs for Swansea

A shame for him having just made a breakthrough. Reckon he would have been first sub on again tonight if he was fit. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk -
Saints 1 West Ham 2 - Post Match Reality Check

I think Ralph has done great so far and I've got confidence that we will be fine this season, although in the short term, we may drop back into bottom 3 with our upcoming games. But I do think he made a mistake today playing Valery up against Andersson who was always going to be the main threat. He subbed him in the Huddersfield game and I thought it was quite likely he would be exposed in this one against better opposition. What we don't really know is what is going on with Cedric. It seems he is fit so possibly a move is being lined up? Otherwise can't understand why we haven't seen him in the squad in last couple of games. If Cedric does go, this game reinforces that we really need to sign at least one quality right back, possibly 2. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk -
Saints 1 West Ham 2 - Post Match Reality Check

And irrespective of whether it should have been a penalty we should be able to defend our goal from our own corner FFS. West Ham were by far the better side and our goal to go in front was fortunate and against the run of play. No complaints. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk -
I know Valery is young but today shows he's not ready for this level. Stephens or Cedric in for next game please. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk

Get Austin on for Armstrong. Long won't score. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk

We have certainly missed Hojbjerg. Use of ball by Rom and Lemina not good enough today. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk

Or they just ARE ****e at defending whoever the manager is? Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk

You just can't defend like that at this level. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk

Good strike but no closing down. Patchy performance from Romeu so far. Looks a bit off the pace to me. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk

Need to impose ourselves more across the middle somehow. Romeu and Lemina struggling to keep up with West Ham at times and not getting much help from the full backs. Wonder if Ralph may consider taking off a CB and putting extra Midfielder on? Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk

Got to think he must be on his way given he's been back training for a while now. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk

Yeah, I guess you would have to go with whatever Ralph is seeing in training. Ideally you would want Ings in this one rather than City but if it's too much of a risk injury wise then not worth pushing him too hard. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk

Not sure if that's based on anything concrete or just assuming he will start because he came on and scored. I reckon it will be Lemina for Hoj and possibly Stephens or Cedric for Valery, but otherwise unchanged to start. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk

Yes, I think this is evident in his readiness to give the academy players a chance. He's putting it in all their minds that if they show him good things in training and in U23 or even U18 games, he is prepared to promote them if there is a spot available in the squad. It's also saying to the senior players that if they don't pull their weight, whoever they are, there are viable options that he is prepared to use instead. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk

Will be interesting to see if Ralph sticks with 3 at the back for this one. I generally think it's best to stick with same after a good win but do you really need 3 CBs against Huddersfield attack? The only thing is you feel Vestergaard probably needs 2 others around him to compensate for lack of running ability! So on balance I would stick with the 3 to start. Out of the potential injuries I would say Redmond would be the biggest miss with his ability to run with the ball quickly between the lines like he did yesterday. Ryan Bertrand not a fan of Mark Hughes...
Saint Pete replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Look I'm no fan of Hughes and I think Ralph is going to be a much better manager both tactically and motivationally. But I seem to remember the players saying quite similar things about the impact that Hughes and his coaches were having when he first came in and how much better it was than the previous manager. So forgive me if I'm not 100% trusting yet that the players including Ryan will remain totally on board with what Ralph wants to do with them in the medium and longer term. Would it really surprise anyone that much of the players start turning against him if a few results go against us, just as they have done with previous managers? The players should take their share of responsibility for what has gone on over the last couple of seasons irrespective of the merits or otherwise of the managers. Saints 3 - Arsenal 2 - I should start threads more often
Saint Pete replied to Secret Site Agent's topic in The Saints
Massive result for us in terms of confidence moving forward. We have been in front in games so many times but have not delivered the points. Today we saw it through and that should give us more confidence in games where we lead from now on. Hope Redmond not a serious problem as thought he was excellent today. -
Too long to go though!
