  1. Exactly. When Redmond is not on the pitch we look extremely one paced and a whole lot less effective. So if we only bring in one player, it should be someone pacy, who can score. I would also like to see central defence improved. We have no choice at the moment but to play 3 at the back because the CBs we have are too weak to play in a back 4, which is far from ideal. I guess there's only a chance of that happening if we can shift Hoedt at least. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  2. Vital period for us now. Need to see this through. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  3. Maybe the potential tiredness after midweek is the reason for playing the 3 in midfield instead of 2 to give us a bit more numbers in that area? Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  4. Agree with you. Tadic was definitely NOT selfish in the way he played, often looking to make a pass to set up teammates rather than go himself, probably too much as you say. Whereas with Boufal, it often seemed that he was playing his own game for himself to me, too many tricks and not enough end product. I'm puzzled why some saw him as "direct". Just because you like to run and hold onto the ball, it doesn't necessarily mean you are direct. Ralph likes his players to move the ball quickly and directly with aim to get shots off as soon as possible. This can mean early and accurate forward passes as well as direct running, Redmond style. I don't remember a lot of either from Boufal, but I do remember a lot of running down blind alleys and ignoring teammates in better positions. Why is he being discussed anyway? Is it even an option for him to be recalled this season? Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  5. When we conceded 2 goal leads under Hughes, it was down to him not being able to coach a defence according to some. So why are we still doing it? Maybe it's that we have so many **** defenders in the squad. Just a thought. OK, it's the Cup so not No.1 priority, but this will keep happening until we replace some of the awful central defenders we have at the club. Irrespective of who the manager is. 6. Only makes sense to sell Cedric at this point if we have a quality replacement lined up to come in now. Otherwise would seem a bit suicidal as Valery clearly not ready to be the number 1 choice at right back. Decent back up but last match proved he's not a reliable choice in a relegation battle. 7. I agree about not making idiotic buys like Carrillo but we shouldn't kid ourselves that we have got a really good squad after all after a couple of good rearguard battling performances. There are areas that need to be addressed - with the right type of player of course. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  8. That sounds massively complacent to me. Yes, Ralph is at the moment getting more out of the players that we have than the previous manager. But we are still in a perilous position and a couple of decent results doesn't change that. I don't see how you can look at our defenders and forwards now and not think they are a massive downgrade on what we had a couple of years ago. So, where we can, we need to improve the squad sooner rather than later. That is why we are trying to shift on the likes of Gabbi, Davis, Forster and Hoedt, so that we can free up space in the squad for better quality that suits Ralph's game - he has said as much in interviews. We shouldn't be forced into silly panic buys of course but we absolutely should be supporting Ralph by strengthening his options, and we should look to do it now if we can. He won't stick around long if the club don't support him in the good job he is doing so far. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  9. A real shame it hasn't worked out for him at Saints as that early spell when he joined shows he definitely has the talent. Possibly should have been given more consistent runs in the team to build his confidence. But I accept that Ralph needs to be given a chance to bring in his own players so we need to clear space for him to do that. Will always remember his goals at Wembley, especially the brilliant second and the minutes following it. And also of course the crucial goal at Swansea. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  10. Hasn’t Ighalo been linked with us recently?
  11. Suspect Fulham won't be paying him anything like the full amount Chelsea have been paying him. Deal will be done with Chelsea to compensate him for that. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  12. No, but he is a leader on the pitch, which is something that both Fulham and us sadly are totally lacking. He will help the other players around him play better and organise better in defence. I personally think it's that leadership and strength that our team is most obviously missing so I wouldn't mind if we signed a more senior player at the back, because that would improve us. 13. Being reported that Gary Cahill likely to sign for Fulham on a free. We should be all over that because he is the type of player who could keep up the likes of Fulham or us, both teams currently very poor defensively. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  14. Yes, agree with this. I don’t think Ralph thinks Long or Austin are better players than Gabbiadini but he knows that he needs to shift at least 1 forward out in order to get someone in who will better suit his way of playing. Austin and Long would be extremely difficult to shift without the club pretty much still funding all their wages in a loan deal. Whereas Gabbi has much more potential for selling with the interest in him in Italy, so he is the man to go. All makes sense, as long as we make sure we replace him with someone decent, so we don’t have to rely on Long and Austin! Really, the sooner a deal can be done for Gabbi the better so we can get on with bringing who Ralph wants in.
  15. Yoshida not getting picked was the most baffling part of the first few months of the season under Hughes. Was bizarre how he continued to be ignored despite consistently poor performances from the likes of Hoedt. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  16. Good luck to him, has been a key player for us in a very successful period for the club. Reckon he will still do well up there. Hopefully this and a few other outgoings can go through early in the window to give Ralph some space in the squad to bring in some new blood. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  17. Watch the replay. Jump tackle, both feet off the ground, over the top of the ball. Red card all day long. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  18. Yeah, I’ve noticed the whispering about the Guvnor too. Dave and Adam also seems to have developed an annoying habit of referring to Danny Ings as “Ingsey” in commentary lately, which seems a bit over familiar to me. So far, they have stopped short of referring to Redmond as “Redders” tho.
  19. Has been really good this season so far, really stepped up his level from last year. But that was stupidity of the highest order today and shows he still has a regular weakness for those sort of unnecessary over the top tackles. Needs to eliminate that from his game because he’s let everyone down by not being available for the next 4 games which will be a big miss and potentially could cost us vital points.
  20. Come on mate. A defeat against the champions isn't the best time to make a judgement about the manager. Things will get better, but it was always going to take time, especially as Ralph wants to radically change the tactics. He will need support from the club in January though to freshen up the squad (shifting players out just as important as bringing them in). Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  21. Still think we can stay up but the last 2 games has reinforced what a task Ralph faces to turn this team around. What worries me most is whether he can walk the line between being tough with the players (which most agree is required) but still install a good team spirit. Will be difficult and the January window will be key. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  22. Red all day long I'm afraid. Mental given the game is lost. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  23. Idiot. And the crowd applaud him off. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  24. Appallingly easy for City to pass it through us there. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  25. Really? Clearly not his interpretation. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
