  1. Reed could have come on alongside Wanyama and released Davis to play further up the field? Got to say, if I was Reed, I'd be thinking if I didn't get a game tonight with Morgan, Cork, Toby, JWP all out, I probably never will.
  2. We lost that game because of lack of confidence at both ends of the pitch. We had the better of the game, but made 2 poor errors at the back and should have scored much more than 1 with the chances and good situations we had at the other end. Need to get that confidence and composure back or it could be a long second half of the season. Very frustrating as really think Utd were there for the taking for us tonight. One final point - what the hell has Reed done to Koeman? Do not understand why he didn't play some part tonight.
  3. Forster could have come for it, but who was marking Van Persie?
  4. Poor defence again.
  5. We just seem to have lost a bit of composure in final third compared with earlier in the season. We seem to be rushing things too much and playing hopeful passes/shots rather than picking people out.
  6. Promising signs from Tadic - looks like he's playing himself back into form.
  7. Long needs to do better there - straight at him!!!!
  8. All of our bad luck was saved for tonight - 3 injuries in one game, would have had a point at least if not for that. Worrying injury situation developing now.
  9. Unlucky really tonight, think we would have had at least a point if not for the injuries.
  10. Would have been better not to make the sub, then we could have subbed Toby.
  11. Agree with this - he's been nowhere near as effective on the right as he was when played on the left earlier in season.
  12. Shame about Arsenal winning but Mertesacker was limping towards the end. Could be a boost for us if he misses our game on Wednesday?
  13. Nah, we need Long's work rate and ability to annoy the opposition in this one.
  14. Forster Clyne Toby Fonte Bertrand Davis Wanyama Schneiderlin Long Pelle Tadic I would play Davis if 100% fit, Cork if not. Long instead of Mane as in better form at present. I also think Tadic has been less effective in recent games when played on the right to allow Mane to play on the left. So I'd have Tadic back on the left where he was so good in earlier games.
  15. Not convinced yet that it was right to sign Forster at the expense of Boruc - just because he is younger doesn't make it the right decision in my opinion. He needs to be better, not just younger. Boruc still has quite a few good years in him yet, he's no that old for a keeper. That said, calling him a league one or championship standard keeper is utterly ridiculous!!
  16. Koeman did bring on Cork for Davis when he got injured before half time against Leicester, in preference to Long. So, he must have thought it could work with all three of Wanyama, Schneiderlin and Cork on then? Personally, I was surprised when I saw the team and Cork was not in, and although he's not a natural for the no.10 role, I think he would have linked up the midfield and the forwards better than Long.
  17. Maybe, but we still had plenty of time to turn it round after that mistake. We just didn't play well enough.
  18. Strange, poor performance that. Glad to get a point in the end. Even after we scored, we still looked edgy and disjointed.
  19. Sorry, but Forster ain't as good as Boruc. Terrible flap there.
  20. Good work from Bertrand there.
  21. Get the **** in!!!!!
  22. Surely Reed and Cork could come on? Why wouldn't you at least try something?
  23. I don't think we should make the team selections based on the perceived quality of opposition, but more by just assessing when each player needs a rest. Our improved depth in most positions means that we should be prepared to rest players if they look/feel jaded or are carrying knocks, and should be able to cope with that better than we did last year. This is where the expertise of the manager and the coaching staff is crucial in spotting which players really need a rest rather than flogging them until they eventually get injured or lose form.
  24. Eh? He was only on for 10 mins and was involved in 3rd goal, didn't look too bad to me. And how do you work out he was forced to move by Cortese and Poch when both had left the club?
  25. Yep, good England performance that, and great to see so many "Saints" out there! Forster, Clyne, Shaw, Ox, Lallana, Lambert. Can't help but think that had something to do with the improved display
