Hoping thats the thought behind it.

The actually challenge doesnt look terible ( it's not good) but for me its the attempts prior to it - Clearly tackling him Safri Style

I think Alpine hit the nail on the head - The St Marys Mortgage must be up there as one of our biggest debts - alongside player wages. Hopefully we have started sorting the wages issue - but we owe what we owe on the mortgage. There isn't many quick fixes to that one. C'mon someone with more financial nous then me ( Yes a bowl of Jelly is in comparison) offer some good ideas

Good to see you are giving the Manager time. Any other amazing threads on the horizon - between this one and the Burley thread you really have excelled.....
-
Does he play internationals ?
-
Mate - regarldes of opposition - He's done the job. The rules are the same, the goals are the same size and regardless of the country he is playing against - it's the best that country has to offer.
-
Weird.... You think he'd be the first name on the book. He must be one of the all time highest goalscorers when it comes to international goals.

I think the fact that these youngsters are already used to playing with each other from the reserves and youth leagues plays a part in their selection as well. ....and well we tried the old journeyman approach last season - to not much success. I do however like the fact we do have at least a few senior pros in the squad in Perrry, Killer and Davis.

Ha Ha - Yes the Skates are coming out the woodwork - Can't help bad luck I guess. Aussies Vs Uzbekistan tonight (11.30pm West / 1.30pm East ) first WC Qualifier. Should be a tough one - But with luck we can start our campaign off with a win. Heres to a late nite !

Like it says - So people can get tickets on the way to work. Maybe they are thinking the hour between 8-9 is prime ticketing time :smt102 It is however a trial period - Im sure if things are not working out they will change them back. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/articles/article.php?page_id=10558

Just out of interest ( and in no way am I trying to provoke an argument ) - How many at a rough guess would you say are Staying Away. People are well within their rights to speak with their feet - Just being OS and out the loop it would be interesting to guage. Cheers

Bit early in the season to start talking attendances isnt it ?? I mean we have only played twice at home - and one of them a televised match.
-
Based In Gosnells mate Yeah - its sure goign to be a rollercoaster ride. Shame about the TV match - mind you we have been eternally cursed to play ****e on Televised matches

Daily Echo - LALLANA Fulham bid rejected...SPURS INTEREST TOO
Saint Bones replied to exit2's topic in The Saints
Glad he has just signed a new contract then. IF he does go in January - I hope its for a bloody lot of money -
I'd hope thats not our avg attendance. - Taking note it was a Televised match. The match before against Birmingham. Southampton Vs Birmingham 18,925 -English League Championship So almost a 4k difference. - Hopefully the Birmingham game is more the norm.

I'm liking what i've seen of McGoldrick but to say John is passsed his use-by-date is a bit over the top to me. Im not a massive fan of only one up front and would prefer the more physical John there. In saying this I wouldnt want to drop McD and find it hard to drop him behind John as lallana is playing well there. Gees - Who be a Saints manager hey ?
-
The game versus Blackpool is the only game I've seen ( radio the others) but for all their experince the defence lwas ooking shaky everytime Blackpool attacked. It may be down to an off day - I was particularly looking forward to Gillet play - and looks like he had an off day ( Sigh) Davis is looking confident and was bellowing out most the game, Perry read the game well - but there just didnt seem to be solid defence all up. I would have liked to have the other option of the Walsall lad... Gerrard - but oh well.
-
Having finally got to watch my beloved Saints play ( OS Supporter) I was mildy dissapointed with the performance - Mainly I'd say as I'd bigged myself up for a great performance from reading the two previous match reports. That aside I was impressed with some of our play and the abilities of our youngsters. I though personally McGoldrick had a good game yesterday - So am finding it suprising that many are calling for Pekhart to start against QPR. Can people who have seen this lad explain a bit about his game to me. I can see McGoldrick not quite being the able 'hold up' man but havent we got Stern John for that role ? Is this youngster a future star ? Should we be playing him at the expense of our strikers - or does he have something to offer thats our strikers don't ?
-
:smt082 Whoops... I actually thought that shot came off his head and thats why the cheeky smile... Even better save then. Davis has been solid for us for a majority of his Saints career -- Silly errors have been noticible - but as always a keepers mistakes are more glaring as they often result in goals. Twice today I heard the bellowing of Davis as he called for a ball and that was easily over the crowd - I think he plans on making the defence his on this year. Keep up the good work KD

G'day All Just a quick thread to see which of my fellow convicts are still posting. West Aussie here - Dont often see fellow Saints fans here but know theres a few of us madmen. Alwasy keen for a beer and a chat of all things football Sadly not the best display versus Blackpool ( Typical as we only get about 1 game a year shown here :smt048 ) Anyways - Speak Soon

Further to this thread I'd like to know people thoughts on our 'excess' players Do people like Euell and Skacel now become part of the selection team ? For me if we haven't offloaded these players surely they should be part of the team now ? Im not for one second saying they should automatically start - they need to earn there spot - But where they being overlooked whilst the possibility of them being sold was still there ?
-
I thought Dyer was half decent on Saturday and added an extra spark into the game. To be honest I thought we had the team and the subs to cover for anything Blackpool could throw at us... Sadly not to be.
-
Gutted. Finally get to see the boys play and it wasnt on par with the last two games ( on the call/match reports) No arguments with the penalty and I guess a good lesson against the more 'physical' type team approach. My hindsight says I would have liked Stern to start up front and Dyer on the right. Although as called on the commentary it would have been nice to see us revert to a 442 - by then we were chasing the game and riding our luck. oh well - 2 weeks break ??? Bring on QPR
-
Thought he had a good game today. Sadly it was 'silly' mistakes by us that cost us in the end.
-
Agreed lallana has played some impressive football as has Holmes. Silly penalty - But now we have 45 mins to right those wrongs. Agree Gillet doesnt look to up for it, hopefully he can turn it around.
