  1. JackanorySFC

    JWP form

He's been told he'll be starting this season according to an ex academy player that is still good mates with him. RK rates him very highly, as do England who see him as a future Captain. Technically the best striker of the ball at SFC/ Eng U21's with a superb attitude and willingness to learn/ improve.
  2. Are Arsenal a small club? I only ask because they give absolute dogs abuse to Nasri & Adebayour? Good for the Gooners too, those two are nasty money grabbing mercenaries in the same mould as Lovren for sure. Also what about Barcelona? That small club has small minded fans that do things like throw a pig's head at Figo. I'm also sure tiny West Ham were a tad upset at Paul Ince and "Fat" Frankie Lampard, oh yeah, what about Spurs and Sol Campbell etc etc etc... Look, it's not about who leaves, it's about how they leave and where they go. Lallana and Lovren burned serious bridges, they insulted our club and as an extension, our City. They could have honoured the contracts they signed less than a year ago and left with their heads held high, instead the only thing they held was our Club to ransom.
  3. Unfortunately the fixture change clashed with a wedding for me so I can't make it, instead I'll be shouting at a TV on the IOW. Should be a cracking atmosphere up there! As for a banner my personal favourites were: "W£ MUGG£D YOU Y£AH Y£AH Y£AH" or "MON£Y CAN'T BUY YOU LOV£" with a pic Of Lallana Lovren is a mercenary that will do the Mickey's over the first sniff he gets from Spain/ PSG. Lambert I'm worried will only be a bit part player and not really do the business. However Lallana deserves every bit of hate and vitriol going. He was out Captain, our leader and a shining example of what could be achieved by coming through our Academy - from League 1 to Brazil in 3 years. He threw it all away, leaving in the worst possible way. He'll never be welcomed back, and that's a shame as he really could have been a legend.
  4. Never discuss salary even with closest friends. Ball park maybe, but that's it. There was a good programme John Snow presented a couple of years back that broke down average wages by industry. Something along the lines of "breaking the last taboo"?
  5. I had to add my mate's customer number and confirm his post code? Oh well, all sorted now.
  6. At least this system allows you to buy tickets in block 2. The last had a Block 1/ 2 section only selling block 1 tickets - as a block 2 ST holder it did my head in when trying to get tickets near us for mates or my own seat for cup games! Have to say though, despite the system de-listing my linked accounts and resetting my password, it's far easier to use.
  7. Rewriting of history there. Shaw's best attribute by a mile was his defensive work. His poor crossing was his biggest weakness, this is why I thought comparisons with Bale were miles off. No single winger got the better of him last season, never showed a shred of nerves, he won every 50/50 in the air and classily dispossessed players with far more experience than him on a weekly basis. An absolute beast of a full back defensively with huge potential going forward. This myth about him being poor positionally has been a complete invention since he left, don't know a single ST holder that thought that of him.
  8. Good points re "not likely to have his head turned". Yep, I thought that about Lallana too, not so much Chambers. Know a good mate of JWP (and Chambers, Shaw etc) through a family friend that has been in the Academy with them all the way through, JWP by a mile the smartest of the bunch and a real leader apparently. Austsaint, being pushed off the ball will become less of an issue as he grows. At 19 be is unbelievably young to be playing CM in the Premier league, to play there at that age you need exceptional technique. Something I think he has. If you think he only has decent delivery for set pieces that makes him as good as Beckham already surely? ;-). Be interesting to see how his passing is this season, personally I have no problems with a midfielder passing sideways and backwards, as long as one of those passes reaches an overlapping full back or a "violinist" like Gaston, but I'm patient and enjoy watching good football rather than hoof ball.
  9. What a goal last night. How good can this boy get? Only 19, still a baby in CM terms (average age in the Premier League for a CM must be 26+), has unbelievable technique when striking the ball, good football brain, the best corner delivery I've ever seen - seriously it's as dangerous as a Free Kick on the edge of the box - clearly intelligent and articulate, a nailed on future captain IF he stays. However his personality suggests he isn't one for having his head turned the same was Lallana did. Just look at the way he's always wheeled out for interviews with the FA and Saints before/ after games. Really think he'll push on this season, will be a joy to watch him progress IMO.
  10. Compared to the others on Talksport he's actually one of their better broadcasters. Good partnership with the Guardian's Barry Glendenning on a Saturday morning. Has a genuine knowledge of lower league football, doesn't take himself too seriously and doesn't look to score cheap points like Durham. Gough is a complete moron.
  11. A couple of observations. Right now they have 12 "Presidents". This £50k offer to add to their ranks has been open since before April and, as far as I can tell, the number has stayed at 12 the entire time. They havn't sold a single "Presidents" package. I doubt that will change in the next 7 days. Also, I love their liberal attitude towards deadlines: So the deadline isn't actually a deadline at all? This on top of announcing "better than expected revenues" for the 11 months they were generating income, not including the quietest month of the year for a football club (June) of course, that included 2x season ticket sales and extra parachute payments. This shambles of a fan ownership is going to end in tears. God help 'em if they don't get promotion this season!
  12. "There were also additional TV monies we hadn’t budgeted for" Wasn't this the increased parachute payments? If so how much was that? Not sure where else additional TV monies would come from, did the Football League Show up it's payments to league sides?
  13. Tesco dramatically scaling back new store openings. Instead looking at building houses on land previously earmarked for stores. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/newsbysector/retailandconsumer/10976120/Tesco-to-build-4000-homes-instead-of-supermarkets.html Wonder if this effects the Spurs supporting property developer and the money Pompey are banking on for a superstore on Fratton?
  14. 1 min 17 secs. Harder than it looks!
  15. Last season they had Brian Stock as well, another Southampton lad from Hedge End. Basically Burnley is a northern Saints stronghold!
  16. "He may of not left in the best way" "Would hate to see "ads" get more than lighthearted banter" If you aren't a family member of his missus I'm disgusted with those quotes. Please justify how he left wth what he said about "dreaming of playing for LFC"? Remember this was our captain! Water under the bridge eh? Banter? Soccer am *******s that mush. Captain. Leader. Liar.
  17. Excellent, looking at that post you're clearly a mate of his. I appreciate you posting on here so you can pass a message on in person. Your pal is a thick, greedy moron. He had it all here. Club that made him what he is, fans that loved him, great football and home environment and the epitome of the greatest academy in European football. However, we "on,y" paid him £50k a week, **** knows how he scraped by on that last spring whilst, and I quote, "dreaming of playing in that Liverpool team"? Whilst your pal was "dreaming", he was supposed to be leading our club, our players, the ones representing our City. He disgraced us. You, me, everyone associated with our club, a club with class dignity and respect. Three things he left behind with that quote. Yeah I'm petty, small minded and a but of a **** when it comes to the attitudes of blokes disrespecting a badge representing a City I'd bleed for just to throw a lifetime of thanks, gratitude, back slaps, free beer and stories for a few more £k a week. Tell your pal he ain't welcome in our City any more. It could have been his but he blew it. C***.
  18. The singing clip pretty poor really, as said above, sounds like 3/4 people singing. The fellas there more inclined to "debate" face to face than "banter" with a song. As I say, his missus was there, could have been worse. Shame, he could have had a lifetime of handshakes, pats on the back, thank you's and offers of a free drink every time he walked into Southampton Airport or anywhere else in an SO postcode, however he ****ed that up. Captain, Leader, Liar.
  19. Online ticketing system says sold out. Allocation about 800 usually going on previous visits? No problem though, will get one in the home end easy enough. Be loads of Saints everywhere, as there are every time we play there. However this being a Friday evening game, I reckon there will be more than usual!
  20. The video I've seen on Facebook was the Tadic "makes Lallana look s***e" song. A few there gave him both barrels though, he was with his missus, would have been worse otherwise.
  21. Away section sold out. With Saints fans in the home end I fully expect more Saints in the ground than Bournemouth. I've got a half day booked, hoping the sun's shining as I'm planning on making the most of it. Bournemouth away on a Friday in mid-summer? Class fixture that!
  22. I know a fair few of the chaps at the airport (stag group on way to Benidorm). Not exactly shrinking violets that lot
  23. This is superb! Maybe with the E's changed to £. "W£ MUGG£D YOU, Y£AH, Y£AH, Y£AH" I'm off tomorrow, will get some designs made up and set up a account. Those that don't like the idea, no worries, clap the Judas, badge kissing, money grabbing pr***(s), think you have some moral high ground over someone like Lallana or Lovren whose morals are focused solely on money, enough so completely screw over the club they signed long term contracts with 12 months all whilst "dreaming" of a move to Liverpool. They would **** you over the first chance they got, as football fans we need to try and make a stand against this ****. Players and agents have far too much power/ influence over clubs and fans. Being all nice and "turning the other cheek" offers nothing to either the situation or the atmosphere in the ground. United we stand, together we fall and all that.... Seriously if you like the idea, donate, if not, don't. No biggy. Very confident we'll get enough donations to pay for it. Up the Saints!
  24. Bournemouth away, on a Friday? I'm taking the afternoon off mush, big drink. Love their little town, good place to get on it. Take a hip flask just in case
