Lukas Jutkiewicz.... is he worth signing?
JackanorySFC replied to david in sweden's topic in The Saints
Completely confident of beating them with 10 men, especially with their best player (name escapes me, do they have 1?) unconscious and doing a "Cantona" on a mouthy skate on the way off the pitch would genuinely make up for my last few visits - I still have nightmares over that road to Amarillo song! -
Lukas Jutkiewicz.... is he worth signing?
JackanorySFC replied to david in sweden's topic in The Saints
Love the thought of having a home grown lad in the dressing room on dec 18th headbutting walls/ punching doors/ spitting on their crest whenever he sees it etc before the game screaming his hatred of the skates as a final reminder of how big a game it is. If he scores I fully expect a Bridgesque celebration to make him a permanent SFC legend! http://m.youtube.com/index?desktop_uri=%2F&gl=GB#/watch?v=0H2BO9qUceU Anyone go to school with him? Is he likely to "Ben Thatcher" any of the c***s? -
How many 1/2 Season Tickets could we sell?
JackanorySFC replied to JackanorySFC's topic in The Saints
I thought that at first but I bet we only sell 25k tops against Blackpool on the 10th - madness if you ask me as we are playing amazing football! I genuinely think we could shift a huge amount of 1/2 ST's if people thought they were getting a deal, more than making up for revenue on a game by game basis. For what its worth I know it will never happen, at 9.05am on the opening game of last season I went to the ticket office with over £1200 in cash ready to buy our season tickets but was told my money wasnt welcome as they had stopped selling ST's the day before - I refused to get one this season because of this but I've been to most games - however my mates who I normally go with and wanted STs hardly go due to being self employed Plumbers/ window fitters etc that now would rather make £100 on a private job than spend £50+ on the p*** all day (even with our amazing football - times are hard). -
Saints 3 Brighton 0 - Post Match Chat
JackanorySFC replied to SOTONS EAST SIDE's topic in The Saints
Just had a look at that and the only idiots on there are our lot gloating. They won L1 fair and square last season playing superb football, we outplayed them tonight and were lucky to get both our pens (although we should have had at least 1 in the 1st half) but Lambert's 1st was a class, legit goal. 90+% of the Brighton fans on there say we were the better side today - geuinely don't see what your problem is? Let it go eh? -
If we did a "Christmas offer" for 1/2 season tickets at approx £200 I'm sure we could sell enough to almost sell out every game. Gutted I couldn't make it today but would definately get a 1/2 if they went on sale. Feelgood factor is better than last 25 odd years of watching Saints, get people in the habit of ST's and watch them renew next season! Thoughts?

Saints 3 Brighton 0 - Post Match Chat
JackanorySFC replied to SOTONS EAST SIDE's topic in The Saints
Well deserved win, watched it online and KD didnt have a sav to make, ref had a 'mare in the 1st half, terrible, but made up for it in 2nd with a dodgy 1st pen. Have to say disappointed that Brighton didn't have a plan B after going 1 down, thought they would change from being snidey, moaning, diving etc but didn't go out and attack us. Champagne football at times too! Boro, Derby and Brum dropping points is brilliant, gutted West Ham scraped through against Cov - oh and the Skates lost! -
Watching it online - be interesting if we go 1 up to see if Poyet has a plan B?

Come Dine With Me in Southampton again
JackanorySFC replied to Patrick Bateman's topic in The Lounge
If I was on their I'd receive my food, throw it against the wall and pull out a bucket of KFC screaming "I am Southampton, I'll eat what I want" - meanwhile I'll be washing it down with stella as people scurry about cleaning my mess waiting for someone to call mean alcoholic where I'll respond with 2 extra slow versions of OWTS and a rousing "I am Southmpton, I'll drink what I want" before exiting towards the door booming out a "time to go, time to go, time to go time to go time to go, time to go, time to goooo, time to goooooo oo o o F*** OFF!" Yeah watched it, looks like that Greg wierdo lives on the Old Dell site? -
If anyone reading this gets a spare 6/7 minutes listen to this! Poyet sounds like he has completely lost it...
-
Just heard the entire interview on talksport. He has seriously lost the plot, saying things like "you want the whole world to drive on the right side of the world" when challenged about "liberal" south American attitudes to racism. Completely indefensible, great timing for us as he looks like a complete loon and will dominate the news cycle for a while....
-
Depends on one's definition of class football I suppose. When they played us they frustrated us from the start, we ran about like loons closing them down like sides do against Arsenal. But, like sides against Arsenal, we couldn't sustain it for 90 minutes and in the end were lucky to get a point thanks to their penalty. I loved their patient build up, close passing, refusal to hit it long, always willing to play out from the back and general ticca Tacca (sp) style, but then I also love watching Barca and arsenal as they play football I deem as "classy". I didn't like the time wasting, card waving rubbish. Have to also say that the football we have played this season is better than anything I saw of Brighton last season.
-
Fair play to Poyet, top manager that took brighton from no where to deserved winners of L1 last season, playing class foitball too. Complimentary quotes from him there, clearly wary of us so expect time wasting from the 1st minute, diving, injury feigning and card waving too. My only issue is his quote on our spending as I guarantee that in the last 18 months our net spend is far less than Brighton's.
-
I was there that day, almost forgot how bad he was - unbelievable!
-
You obviously don't subscribe to timesonline, it wasn't just the first witness that did not hear any racism but the first 2, the man closest to the attack and a French au pair. Both at the bus stop. Unless their court reporter has got it wrong of course?
-
Ah, didn't see that. You'd have thought everyone at the bus stop would have heard if it was shouted though? BTW I've seen the documentaries etc so know the original defendants were racist but this doesn't mean they 100% did it and I'm starting to doubt this was 100% a racist attack but I'll reserve my judgement until I've heard as much as I can about the evidence.
-
The Times website has just reported the main eye witness (was at the bus stop with SL) claimed today he heard no racist language, in fact another woman (french au pair) at the bus stop said she felt it unusual and less serious because nothing was shouted at all. ???

Great, so you admit that jurors in their 20's and 30's are no more or less likely to be on a jury than those in other age groups? I'm not going to put my biog' on here but I'm well aware thanks, and the Mods here (SG specifically) will know/ see from my registration details that I'm well versed with the intimacies of Court Reporting due to my place of work.
-
Please tell me how my low reading age misinterpurated this: The context being those in this age group do not remember the original hearing (I'm 29 and I do but that's not the issue). How are jurors in their 20's and 30's more frequent than those in their 40's, 50's, 60's 70+? You just completely made that up to suit your (already flawed) arguement didn't you?
-
Wouldn't mind it if he came out and said it rather than skirting around the issue - and the clown refers to himself in the 3rd person, a clear sign of mdness and/ or over inflated sense of self importance.
-
Explain that please? Do you think I'm racist? If you do say so now or do not imply it again. Ever.
-
This is my entire point (and covers a huge area that is argued by both def'/ pros'), of course they won't get a fair trial as every man and his dog has an opinion on it. Please explain how the "deselction process" frequently throws up groups of 12 in their 20's and 30's? Even if they did, I'm 29 and I'm as knowledgable about the original trial as you? No, the jury are the ones that can struggle with their conscience. I'm happy with the British Justice system and the results they give us. Do not imply that I am racist as a result of that, it is extremely offensive and goes against more than 1 of the t's & c's of posting on here I'm sure.
-
Wrong. Whilst I was young at the time, I was old enough to know they had been found innocent after being innocent in the first place (according to British Law decreeing it is down to the prosecution to prove guilt and until then innocence is presumed).
-
Do you know the meaning of the word "randomise"? I only ask because you say the selection system of jurors as you know it randomises the ages meaning I would often be suprised at the young demographic within a jury... So returning to that word randomise - would there not be an equal chance there is a: Middle aged jury Elderly jury Shock horror - Mixed aged jury! Jury selection has a huge selection criteria before a big trial that is argued by prosecution and defence and decided upon by the Judge, I suggest you go look it up.
-
Well it's case closed according to Verbal... The reason you all aren't/ havnt done jury service is apparently because jurors are frequently in their 20's & 30's. 40+? sorry no chance. Ever.
-
Jurors frequently in their 20's and 30's, you what???? More so than jurors in their 40's 50's 60's 70's? That is absolute rubbish, you clearly don't work in law or have any experience of a trial by jury. Please attempt to provide a source for that completely made up suggestion? Even if you were right I'm 29 and remember it clear as a bell. Remember when I was a kid and saw the original trial and it all kicking off outside court. I immediately wanted a pair of Armani shades and a suit like the defendants, watching their response to a public spitting and attacking whilst innocent in the eyes of the law was pretty great viewing to me at the time.
