So you are setting more store on gianlucadimarzio.com than the Daily Telegraph (AU)? I will go with the Daily Telegraph thanks. Hope I am wrong.

It is like a broken record! What the f*** has Adkins got to do with it? I doubt he had hardly any influence at all on whether or not Ramirez was purchased - and there is also zero evidence that the money used for Ramirez prevented us signing a central defender. Most of the players that join bang on about the vision Cortese presented them, so I doubt Adkins even meets the new signings until after it is done and dusted. Until I see Ramirez play in the EPL I will reserve judgement about whether or not he was worth the money.

When did he look out of his depth last season? As for the sliced clearance, he did not have plenty of time at all. The ball was fizzed in his general direction, and he stretched to get a foot to it and it unfortunately went for a corner. It is just something that could happen to any defender regardless of their ability....it is nothing to do with being "panicky". He was at fault for the marking for the header - granted. Just going to have to learn quickly from mistakes at this level.

We've got Brett.....oh hold on, it's James Ward-Prowse

Nope. (soz) -
Must be something to do with having a missus called Delilah.

Try it yourself with post #29

Completely irrelevant comment. You implied that Yoshida was our only attempt at a central defensive signing. I merely pointed out that we probably attempted several, but only succeeded in one. Please try to stick to the subject.

There - I corrected it for you.

This Fonte bashing by some is getting on my t1ts it must be said. Some are even implying that he was a liability in the Championship as well. It is ridiculous. Most of the players that did well for us in L1 and are now playing in the EPL are going to struggle to get up to speed - they are not going to be able to put in faultless displays 100% of the time. So he made a couple of mistakes - get over it and back the fella. I don't see Hooiveld getting slated and he has given away two stone wall penalties in three matches. Defenders cock-ups, like goalkeepers, often lead to high profile negative events (i.e. goals). I am sure Ferguson and the Man Utd fans were less than impressed with their own back four yesterday because they made mistakes also. It happens - it doesn't mean that the player "is not good enough", it just means they can make mistakes just like the next guy. It wasn't that along ago that some would have preferred to play with 10 men than have Puncheon on the pitch. I bet they don't think like that after yesterday. We have to give the likes of Fonte, Fox and Do Prado support while they wear the shirt, otherwise their confidence will evaporate and moaning about them not being good enough will become a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Eh?

Where did I say that? I just disagree with your assessment.

He would have had to have been traveling at warp speed to close that cross down. I think you have been influenced by MLTs comment on Sky.

I wonder if we already have some out of contract targets? Doesn't seem to fit the policy we have adopted for incoming players though.

Yes, so who drops out of the 25 man squad?

Why? "font" is the correct pronunciation of his name HTH
