I get the feeling that he is so far inside his comfort zone, under no pressure, and such a 'one club' man that he will only ever leave Bournemouth if he is sacked.
They want to be seen as the plucky underdog. It's a form of inverted snobbery and emanates from a position of fear.
All good banter though and not to be taken too seriously.
Selfishly speaking, this is good for me as I couldn't get there today.
