You should watch Nigels Latest interview video. I think it rubbishes the rumours about Brian Howard and he stresses that there is no point disrupting the setup by bringing in someone who isnt going to have a big impact in the side. They are actively looking for someone but that someone has to be right. He also hinted that some managers cant bring in someone until someone else is offloaded, which I took to mean that reading are looking to buy someone and need to offload howard so they are pushing him out there and getting the rumour about. I think something will happen as Chaplow made it very clear in his interview that Adkins is actively looking and that they all know we are short in midfield with chaplow and hammond being the only midfielders and both being on so many yellows.. I just dont think it will be anyone that people are expecting...

I really like that actually. Don't think the stripes would need to be that much thicker. Would be a tidy shirt with most of it being White and as you say gets the stripes and sash in there. I presume the diagonal stripes go across the chest and then the almost vertical lines down one side. Like it.

So why could this not be played on the tuesday after (29th) as neither team are playing then??... we have no game between 22 march and 2nd april now with games going on on 25th, 26th, 27th, 28th and 29th march and 1st april... odd choice and table will look very different by 2nd april I feel.

Don't get me wrong, at the end of last season I was expecting us to go up fairly easily this season but very quickly after all the drama at the beginning of this season I lowered my expectations greatly. Defence mechanism to prevent the fall you see Expectations pre-season aside, Would you at least admit that on the back of everything that has happened this season with sacking manager, wilkins taking over, Markus' passing etc we are in a better position than expected?? I'm sure many thought our chances were gone when all the sh!t was hitting the fan...

Perhaps I should have said exceeding my hopes and dreams for this stage of the season. I didnt expect to be in top spot for most of it and think our position right now is acceptable with the number of games remaining

Not overachieving, but I'd be more than happy with that and didnt take that for granted at the start of the season...

Well as nice as it would be to be man u, man city or chelsea I for one hope we go the arsenal route on that one.... But you're right, it is a case of whatever it takes to get out of this league right now..

Well I don't like setting myself up for that sort of fall with such high expectations. This is saints after all and I reckon you are in for some disappointment............................................... I personally will be thrilled when we go up in second ;-)

Guess we'll never know but each of those players have been criticised heavily this season (Fonte most recently) so you could say they are not in form and are maybe playing equal to anyone we would have had instead without the financial impact. Would you say the way they are playing matches their price tag?

I know the obvious answer is probably hell no for most, but think about it - Wouldn't it take something away from this season if we were running away with the league right now 20 points clear of everyone else simply because we have out muscled everyone in a financial sense? As nervy and hard work as it is right now at least we are having to battle for the right to go up and will feel we've earnt it when we do. Already bournemouth fans are putting their loss saturday down to the money we've spent on players. Would hate for that opinion to take a lot of the joy away from going up.

So if we go up this season you will just look back and admit that we went up because of the money we'd spent? Thats quite sad isnt it. Maybe we are an arrogant club. Money doesnt always buy success. When you take players form from one season to another, whether the valuation of the player was correct, whether the manager was right about purchasing the player etc it makes you think that maybe just maybe its not all down to the money if we go up and that we have just done well as a club and adkins has done a good job. Think there are a lot of teams out there that would be very grateful of a playoff place in league one and we shouldn't be greedy

Yeah. Guess it goes back to discussions about Bournemouth thinking we are arrogant. I didnt assume we would make the playoffs this season as the games still had to be won regardless of what team we purchase. An auto spot would obviously be amazing but when you consider we could be down the bottom of the table now a playoff spot isnt too bad is it??
