  1. I remember this feeling.
  2. I'm scared. I bloody changed my prediction from 2-1 win to us to a 1-0 win minutes before kick off too :-S
  3. Anyhow, everyone resides somewhere on the sexuality scale IMO. Very few sit right on either end.
  4. I think putting this in the muppet show rather than the lounge takes something away from the discussion. You shouldn't feel your message is taboo or doesn't have a place in "normal" sections. I guess it doesn't really need discussing either as I for one am fully aware that just because someone is gay doesn't mean they don't like/have a place in football! I agree that other people might see it as a significant issue but I think homosexuality is commonplace enough these days for most to accept it in relation to any part of life.
  5. So we're agreed all the change is good?!?! Bring on Huddersfield later today and 3 points!!!! :-D COYS!!! For debate purposes can anything think of anything that's worse as a result of Adkins arrival??
  6. Load of bull like the other examples :-D......... Rule 1?!?!
  7. Go somewhere you've never been... Somewhere she's never let you put it, I mean go..... ;-) Nah, Surprise party all the way ;-) get in touch with people she hasn't seen for years. Hack her facebook and invite every one of her friends!
  8. Without wanting to go off track about what's changed, I'm intrigued to know why, in response to your post. Why was the effort not there in the abundance it is now when the dream/plans were the same right from the minute we were saved by liebherr.
  9. Some of the match shots of him on the OS showed him in good shape. His increase in effort stood out in the Tranmere game at least.
  10. I dont tend to go to the pub after games so it will be a welcome extension to the proceedings. The only downside is that I go to all games on my own (I know, loner, saddo etc etc) so i may feel like a plank stood drinking beer on my own in the concourse )
  11. You mention fitness. If as Cortese mentioned about the players not being fit enough following pre season is true then could we presume they weren't for most of last season and that Adkins has them working a lot harder under him? Lambert is looking a lot trimmer now it has to be said.
  12. Surely the players would have been putting in effort even during the low points. Afterall they are professionals, they want to continue getting a ridiculous wage and want to get noticed by other clubs. Only a fool in that position would give up in the way the team did around the time of the sacking. The only reason I dont put in 110% at work is because I'm paid too little to care.
  13. I find it quite amazing that one man can replace another in his role and have the impact that Adkins has had on the team. What key bullet points have turned this team around from the one that made me want to cry during the JPT match against Swindon. It's the same team out there (pretty much). What has Adkins done that Wilkins failed to do so badly? Interested to hear thoughts on a technical/sports level or on a physcology level as IMO the players couldn't have really sank that low just because pardew was sacked?! They were/are still bloody good players. Was it purely a confidence thing?! I can't imagine I would lose confidence that easy if someone was paying me 5k a week! Bullet points from you now please
  14. I heard Gary Glitter is in Chile now. Only place where you can slide a miner up and down your shaft and get applauded.
  15. Is that in ok this week!!??? OMG I'm so excited!!!!!!!!!...... Whatever.
  16. Rule 1
  17. I for one like the bit about getting to meet the players and hear their post match interviews.. But I am quite sad when it comes to celebrity it has to be said..... Wonder if the papers will be allowed to watch the player interviews and use the info they hear.....
  18. The dodgy start to the season has taught me a lot. I didnt realise just how much of an impact the manager had on how well the team plays. Before the sh!t hit the fan I was of the oppinion that its the same team out there as last season (pretty much) so theres no excuse for the shocking results we were getting when pardew left. How wrong I was. I take my hat off to Adkins for the impact he has had in only the few weeks he has been with us. I was gobsmacked by how badly we played under Dean Wilkins and it really made me realise what having the wrong person in charge does to a side..
  19. I think as others have mentioned though its not just about the fact we were playing Tranmere, the team as a whole looked happier, more confident and generally worked as more of a team than I've seen for a while. The passing was much better too. The same can be said for the bournemuff game. The tester will be huddersfield as the players will have to fight harder and it might be adkins first test if its deadlock way into the second half...
  20. I know... It was something else wasn't it! The passing was spot on throughout the game... some of the long range balls to Lallana out on the wing we're incredible and I felt like an excitable child watching us run rings around the tranmere players.... i think Chaplow was very active and did well for most of the game, have to say he did make a couple of bad passes/decisions but generally looked good. I hope to hear us playing with the same style against Huddersfield on the wireless on saturday
  21. Turkish is a slaphead???!!!!!!
  22. If you take into account the fact that we still have a lot of the key players from last season who were getting 5-0, 5-1, 3-1 results throughout the season then there's no reason we can't get out of this league this season. I don't think we do particularly bad against championship sides either so I think we'd be ok there. Especially with our latest additions. I know it's one step at a time and I know it was only tranmere but last season and the last couple of games following the manager issue being sorted has left me with renewed optimism. Which is saying something as your not the negative bastard, I am ;-)
  23. I still honestly believe that any team in L1 would have struggled against us today.
  24. I based my comment on the last two games really. We walked all over Bournemouth too (didn't think I'd ever think that was a particularly great achievement) but Bournemouth have had a great start to the season and we did them whilst they were in form. But yeah don't worry I'm not getting carried away, this is saints afterall ;-)
  25. Dont think ive ever seen such agreement and positive comments over a saints match before, even though we've won by more than two before and against better opposition. For the first time I was sat there actually contemplating the thought of us being back in the premiership playing with such class. There's plenty of teams in the prem who play a lot worse than that. Thank you saints for making my weekend!
