Don't take this the wrong way Thorpie but you seem to ofter engage your typing fingers before thinking things through a lot of the time which is disapointing because like me you scored very highly (and are passionate about) history. If you are of the view that the traits pf humanity are a constant that history repeats then try applying this to your thinking, like i do, and the answrs to the riddles of life to you they will come. i will leave it to you to work out whether this be a lesson or a test.

You said it, they are just loons and miniscule element, but they are enough to influence the miniscule element of loons over here. DC is a smart guy so I think you should trust him on this.

That is genious. I love it. -
Joking aside DC is spot on about Pakistan, and please don't take this as racism despite the peddle reputation, but Britain is in a dangerous position due to the number of those (generally and weirdly second generation pakistani's) that live here. Now it's alright telling another country they've got a problem and they need to deal with, but have a problem - more of a problem because we (the uk) are one big target and the enemies (just a tiny fraction of the law abiding pakistani's - but a giant fraction when compared to other races living here who' citizens aren't so much a threat) are within. We are also a wealthy country, but imo far to much resource is going into counter measures and the tackling the problem in it's sapling stage isn't being addressed enough. If you get down to the nitty gritty of where the young pakistani's are being influenced and when it's complex, but racism towards them is an issue (but stopping that in the real world - tsf mods cn't hand out infractions here as much as they'd love to ha ha - is nigh on impossible because it's a chicken and egg scenario - one must give before t'other gives), and what is said in mosques is an issue, and the burkha is an issue because it enforces to cultural differences of man being superior to woman and put's muslims thinking how we though 50 years ago, e.g it makes them resent our values and vice versa, and then there is Israel. The problem can be beaten, but it's going to take a smart government - a government that doesn't pander to minorities, but looks after the romans and changes the attitudes of those who settled here. After mcuh thinking about all this I think banning the burkha is the way to go. It will initially cause huge tensions, but it's a step that needs taking if we are to have peace for the next generation.

I'ven just checked my tsf licence and in less than a month my 4 points for a semi racist comments will be gone and my sexist comments (only 1 poin) willl be gone in the new year. This is a record of angelicy by my standards - so who else is a model poster?

Is it just me that thinks Cortese may well be a whizz kid ina behind the scenes position (he was a dogs ******** banker) but he is not a good CEO? I do not this judgement lightly, but base it on what I have seen and heard with my own eyes. And i'm not ITK or anyone of that ****, all i've got to form a view is stuff in the public domain and rumours and I know basing any judgement on rumours is questionable and people with anti cortese itk views may well have axes to grind or their sources axes to grind (some of these rumours if not just made up **** will have come from small time club employees) but when I put together the factual stuff with the bad rumours the picture tallies with my own gut judgement. I'm just a normal (well actually sod that not normal - i'm special - my mum says so ;-)) fan with a bit of life experience and i've worked for several really good ceo's (if that is the title Cortese has - it's irrelevent if it's not cos the gist is the same) and they've all been smart guys, ruthless without a doubt, but outwardly and inwardly sound as a pound and the sort of guys that are fair and wise. Because of these traits they are figure heads able to unite accross the spectrum. Cortese isn't like that and for that reason he will never be A class (to use acting terminology. Mr Liebherr on the other hand is ****ing brilliant and the sor of man anyone would get on with and adore. Maybe i've compltely got all this wrong and Cortese is what is needed, but I don't think I have for the simple reason that Mr Liebherr is so ellusive so there isn't on the face of it the nice guy figurehead to look up to and inspire everyone. I genuinely admire Mr Liebherr and am so grateful to him and when he took those photos at Wembley I thought top man, but we need him to step in somewhere U think - maybe just have a chat with Nicola - pat him on the back, realise he's young and driven and desperate to impress, but sit sit him on his knee and pass him a worthers and give him a big hug. -

That's a toughie. Under normal circumstances i'd be against such a petty move, and if the club had done this when the Trust was legitimate, i.e when it had active real members, i'd have been strongly oposed, but given the Trust is now just a brand to platform what Nick (and maybe a few of his mates) think it is kind of understandable in a childish sense for Cortese to take this stance. It's still petty though and I would rather he had behaved more like a grown up and challenged Nick and the Trust on the fundamental point of his and its legitimacy to issue statements. -

Nick was involved in both, who else was? Or are you just pretending to know what you're on about? -

Are you sure the Saints Trust (not that it really exists) was marketed as organising the Silverpoon event or was it, as I believe (perhaps i'm wrong) a private business venture promoted by Nick and one or two others. Edited because I may have been mistake about the name of the user who promoted the silversppon event on here, can anyone remember who it was? -

I didn't support saintsaid because a) chucking a few coppers in a bucket was utterly futile, b) i saw several names on the organising committee that re-inforced this view, c) i knew (made the correct judgement) that the saintsaid event would be a flop compounding a and due to b, d) objected in principle to donating money to a business where the core employees are grossly overpaid. As to where the money went I think in true "SFC fan organised fashion" the event made a loss. -

I wouldn't go as far as saying I don't like Nick - he comes across as a likeable person, but apart from that comment you've got it spot on. -
Nice one Dave. It's about time we had a PM that isn't afraid of rocking the boat internationally. Dave's comments were also very shrewd on the domestic front as it's classic "divide and rule". The Conservatives have never polled well from the Pakistani community, but the Indian community (who are generally more affluent) are more natural Conservative voters so in one fell swoop he has lost no votes (the Cons didn't have the Pakistani vote anyway) but has won votes from the Indian community. Underestimate Dave at your peril - he's one smart cookie.

Why were so many of our "best first XI" in the league missing ?
dune replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
Alpine will you be in attendance for the match thread next week? -
After reading the thread title I thought this must be an Alpine thread, but it wasn't, but not be outdone he started one. http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?24181-Why-were-so-many-of-our-quot-best-first-XI-quot-in-the-league-missing

He's within his rights to receive compensation because the prison has a duty of care to protect inmates. He has a rock solid case because clearly he wasn't protected. You could argue that prisoners should not be afforded this protection, but i'd be against this because not all prisoners are fiends like him. Your anger should be directed towards the prison service and the government. On the one hand people like him should spend their prison lives in solitary confinement (failure on the part of the prison service/govt), on the the other hand they should be hanged (failire on the part of the government).

There's nothing "dirty" about about relaying Nicks justification for speaking on behalf of 838 members that don't exist, but I respect your right to keep a private conversation out of the public domain. I suspect his response was not satisfactory because there can be no satisfactory explanation for it.
-
Did you ask him why he speaks on behalf of a fans group with no members?

No. Football is about opinions. If Cortese was to come out and question the validity of the Saints Trust and Nick to spout on behalf of "ghost" members then i'd fully support him. Cortese would have a valid point and this is how you deal with such situations in a civilised society. -

This annoys me because I was a member and then it lapsed and I asked him why the 838 members had remained as I didn't want to add weight to such an undemocratic organisation. He said that once you'd joined you couldn't unjoin which ****ed me off. -
That's all i used to do with my old camera.

I suppose stories like this make us being in Afghanistan worthwhile mission, but I don't think anything will change because the taliban rule the roost and will reassert themselves when no-one is there to harrass them.

As is often the case with purchases I set out with a set price I was prepared to spend to get a reasonably good digital camera and came out of the shop with a Nikon D5000 for over twice the amount I intended - it better take good pics. As i'm new to this technical photography malarky (the instruction book is like a novel ) some advice from those who know what they're doing would be appreciated.
