  1. Pardew's comments to the press having a dig at Mr Cortese. You try slagging off your boss at work and see how it affects your career prospects.
  2. I wouldn't be surprised if this is true. AP has done a reasonable job but I get the distinct impression he's got a bit too big for his boots in his relationship with Nicola Cortese. I won't be popular for saying this, but i'm really not too fussed if he stays or goes. If he goes you can bet your bottom dollar his replacement will be good. If he stays I think we'll still go up. Whatever happens the future is bright for us.
  3. The one i bought in tenerife (reckon it was a dodgy fake ha ha) has now died and it was pretty **** anyway. I'm after a cheap one for my hols (around £100). Are the pixies the bee all and end all or is this all misleading with a good make and less pixies giving better quality?
  4. And it yet more good news http://generalelection2010.timesonline.co.uk/#/Predictions finktank has been updated and is now broadly in line with Ladbrokes prediction. *Note how they now predict Eastleigh will turn blue.
  5. Wigan, Fulham and Blackburn don't belong anywhere in these comparisons. They're all sub 10,000 gate clubs when at their true level with Wigan beeing a 3,000 gate club.
  6. David Cameron is closing in on an outright victory in Thursday’s election and has to win over voters in just 14 seats to secure a parliamentary majority, according to a poll of marginal constituencies for The Daily Telegraph. With momentum building behind the Tories, party strategists believe Mr Cameron is “on the cusp” of being able to form a government by the weekend. The Conservatives are on course to seize at least 103 seats from Labour – 14 shy of the 117 needed to secure an overall majority, the poll shows. It found a swing of 7.5 per cent to the Tories in the Labour seats they are targeting Even if Mr Cameron failed to secure a clear majority, the Telegraph poll indicates he could form a minority government with support from unionist MPs in Northern Ireland and independents. Senior Tory figures are also confident of luring several Labour and Liberal Democrat MPs to defect to a Cameron government. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/election-2010/7674796/General-Election-2010-David-Cameron-needs-just-14-more-seats.html

    Snowballs2

I was thinking about him the other day and he's not posted/logged in for quite a while now. Does anyone that knows him have any news?

    Lib-Dem Boy

So what does Lib-Dem Boy look like?
  9. He was one of my favourite players but he's a cheat and should be banned for life.
  10. And then you can break it down further and suggest that conservative supporters are more likely to brave the elements, whilts labours supporters are more likely to stay in and watch Jeremy Kyle. Looking at the forecast it gives showers from Birmingham northwards which is good news because it's in the north where labour has is all to lose.
  11. The Tories are still a party that people don't like to admit to voting for but once in the polling booth more people [than the polls are suggesting] will vote Tory and less will vote Liberal. The reality of the situation is that if you want a new government starting work on the 7th May only a vote for the Conservatives will deliver it. This fact will ensure that the Conservatives form a majority government on 7th May.
  12. Would you prefer tulips?
  13. The big difference is that John Major was a likeable guy and Gordon Brown isn't.
  14. You can come and plant some bulbs with me if you want, then you will be part of the Big Society.
  15. The banks are not too big. Northern Rock failed and it was not a big bank. The problem is that they invested unwisely and lost. Just look at the Spanish banks such as Santander - they behaved prudently and were not affected at all by the toxic assets.
  16. Well it's very big in nazi circles, we are planning to plant some dafodils on the mini roundabout. You really need to get with it and show some community spirit.
  17. I think you understimate British people. When talking to friends and colleagues the most talked about topic is the economy, then immigration, then the Big Society. This policy above all others has awoken the civic spirit the length and breadth of the country.
  18. I don't think you fully understand the Big Society.
  19. I think you're being unfair. I want the Torys to win but you can deny that Gordon has a certain electrifying presence about him.
  20. The Big Society is a real vote winner IMO.
  21. Thought i'd cheer up the Labour supporters on here with some good news! According to http://generalelection2010.timesonline.co.uk/#/GainsAndLosses Labour are predicted to gain Bethnel Green and Bow at the election.
  22. It was advertised because Brown knew better than the experts. He decied to auction the bullion against the advise of experts and he decided to auction it all at the same time. By the very fact this is the method he used to sell the gold it was advertised in advance.
  23. GATHERED around a table in one of the Bank of England’s grand meeting rooms, the select group of Britain’s top gold traders could not believe what they were being told. Gordon Brown had decided to sell off more than half of the country’s centuries-old gold reserves and the chancellor was intending to announce his plan later that day. It was May 1999 and the gold price had stagnated for much of the decade. The traders present — including senior executives from at least two big investment banks — warned that Brown, who was not at the meeting, could barely have chosen a worse moment. In the room, just behind the governor’s main office, they cautioned that gold traditionally moved in decades-long cycles and that the price was likely to increase. They added that even if the sale were to go ahead, the timings and amounts should not be announced, as the gold price would plunge. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/politics/article1655001.ece
