There's plenty of animosity towards Liverpool. The fact is, Spurs poached our Manager, our First Team coaching staff, our head of Recruitment and our CB from last season. That does suggest someone from Tottenham has got a bit of a thing for this particular club and the way we work.

That's the impression I've got. Alderweireld seems to have strung the club and Koeman along through the summer, possibly keeping us sweet as a back up option in case the Spurs deal fell through.

But I think it's not just one thing or another, it'll be a combination of a number of factors. The club has ballsed up somewhere along the line. But it also appears Alderweireld was giving Koeman the impression he was still keen to come to us right up to the end.

For what it's worth, I doubt it will. I can't see any party putting the actual wording of each clause out in the public domain, followed by their own individual interpretations of what the clauses meant in practice and an accompanying time-line of events and conversations attached. You're going to be stuck with speculation and a mini-summer meltdown I'm afraid. Only thing that might happen is if Saints really are ****ed off with the whole situation, then we might leak some stuff, but that's only going to tell you so much.

Think we'll just lose the series, but it'll be bloody tight, hard fought contest. Can't wait.
