There's truth in what he says though. If our preferred replacements are getting bought up, it's definitely in our interest to get the deal done reasonably quickly and that might come down to dropping our asking price a bit.

We don't know that at all. All just depends on what the contract says. Could be pointless them taking us to court or vice versa.

I'd love to have a read of the contract. The thing is, these things often come down to individual interpretation on the wording. Ambiguities are no good, we'd need pretty clear, definite wording in the contract.
